Yeah, the Obutto looks like a pretty darn good deal. Do you fly corporate? We are supposed to get rain tomorrow (of course our weather out here is usually wrong. lol) On another completely related note, was it you that was looking for an IT job a while back?

I currently have the WH pre-ordered from BLT (good price, no tax, no shipping), but their ETA of Nov. 23rd pretty much crosses out that entire week since I am pretty sure UPS doesn't work the 25th and 26th. Who out there currently has the WH in stock and is shipping now? I wish Newegg was selling it. Grrr.....

But if you could choose just one, which would you pick?

:) In all actuality, she proably doesn't care if I get all three, but we have a little boy and a little girl on the way so I am trying to not go too overboard regarding my spending. Part of me just wants to keep my CH stuff since it still works just great. The tech-geek in me wants a shiney Warthog though. lol A cockpit would be nice though. That way I can use it for my flying and racing sims.

So my wife comes home ad I tell her, "Hey, I pre-ordered a $400+ joystick. Yeah, it's expensive but that's why we work our asses off....so we can get things we want." and her response..... "Ok, I thought you wanted the flying cockpit "thing" though (Obutto) and a TV to mount on it?" So, it apears I can either keep my Warthog pre-order OR go with the Obutto cockpit and get a TV to go with it this coming month. *Sigh*

Thanks for the explanation. When people first see something like that pictured (without having the explanation), it is normal for some to perceive poorer quality. I was not saying it IS shoddy workmanship, I said it looks like shoddy workmanship. Many people who bought TM Cougars experienced not so favorable results from a relatively expensive product. It is normal to perceive future TM product quality as questionable based on prior experiences with the same company. If you bought a pickup that did not perform how it should without modifications, would you run right out and by the next model without question? I would hope not.

Looks like shoddy workmanship. a $400+ joystick and they forgot covers for some for the switches. Good job. Can't say I'm surprised, being an owner of a Cougar and all.

Thanks, Mastiff, I was referring to SCSimulations not charging Tax though. Here in CA, Tax on a $500 item is close to $45. So if I decide to order, I want to try and find a place that will not charge for that.

I think i will wait a few months and buy it for $299 somewhere. lol

I may have to re-route some flightsim funds to that burger. haha *EDIT* Forget Dell. Even with any discounts I get, tax is $45 and shipping is $22. Ack..

You are correct, I do not know how shipping ditribution works. Nor do I care....especially when it pertains to something as trivial as a joystick. lol With regards to WH ordering, if I re-pre-order, I think I might go with Dell. I have worked with them a lot in the past and I get a discount on their products through my job. Sort of wish ShopBLT would drop their prices back to their original pre-order price.

Tell you what, BLT, drop the price back to it's original price you had up for pre-orders to begin with and I will re-pre-order. lol

Flim, do those of us in CA have to pay tax? I know some etailers don't charge tax for some states. Thanks!

I seriously doubt TM distributes products from the factory in China. lol I would imagine they distribute from France to everywhere else.

Well, they didn't. So, you as the consumer have the choice to decide if you want to keep the pre-order or cancel it and purchase elsewhere....or just cancel all together. Unfortuately, there is no real way to sugarcoat it.

While I understand the frustration some are feeling towards BLT, it is respectable that they are not charging until they ship. Think of it this way, you may wait a little longer, but you are also probably paying less than everybody else. If this delay is worth it to you, than just use the stick you currently have until your new WH arrives. If this delay is not worth it, cancel your order and order from somewhere else. Simple as that. Remember, BLT does not charge until they ship. Therefore, those who have pre-ordered with them have paid nothing. No loss (outside of time owning a new WH). I cancelled my order with BLT a few weeks back and have not purchased from anywhere else. I will not be one of the first people with a WH and I really don't care either. If I decide to pick up a WH, I am sure they will be available from somewhere by that time. Lastly, please remember that companies releasing products in their native countries or close by first is nothing new. Look at the videogame industry. Here in the United States, we often get products before Europe quite often. Does it really matter who gets it first? I just hope it functions correctly and generates a good amount of revenue so more products for niche communities like ours are developed in the future.

The torrent DL was crazy fast!

I canceled mine with BLT about a week ago. Part of the reason being the "need" for a new stick with the other part being constant date switching. After the extra week to think about it, I would consider repurchasing from somewhere here in the U.S. that is similar in price and shipping, and a place that does not switch their shipping dates around.

I cancelled my pre-order. That should free up one more slot for the West Coast. lol

West Coast for me. Still no email here either.
