Tell her she bought it for you, that way she'll feel guilty if you have to cancel/return it.

The best thing to do, if you are able, is to join an online virtual squadron (or the like). I learned more flying with JG27 in a year than I did total in all the other years combined.

That has been the date on BLT for about a week already. The "ETA" gets pushed back each time they have updated their site with another group of pre-orders (except for the firt two groups). Only the first two groups have Oct. 20, 2010 listed in their pre-order emails. All those afterwords have Oct. 30th or later listed. Time will tell though. I still haven't decided if I am going ot keep the pre-order or not. The extra time to decide is nice.

It said that last week since the 3rd update to their order numbers. It looks like they may be doing a staggered release. Normally I would be skeptical regarding the amount of units an online site states they will be receiving, however, it looks like BLT is one of only a few places offering pre-orders here in the U.S. I was suprised Newegg didn't have it listed.

Fine tuning axis question
JG27_Arklight replied to shackman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If the user's stick is pulling one way or the other, and calibration does not rectify it, having no deadzone would be a mistake. Setting the Deadzone at "0" would make the aircraft difficult to control in this particular scenario. -
ShopBLT - More TM Warthogs on the way!
JG27_Arklight replied to JG27_Arklight's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That's strange. My second email states, "Currently, this item is scheduled to ship to us from the factory on 10/20". Maybe the Mid-West/East Coast is shipping at a different time or it has something to do with the day people ordered? *EDIT* It looks like the ETA is changing depending on which date you pre-ordered. I.e., the people who pre-ordered on the first or second batch are the 20th, the 3rd is the 30th and the 4th is the 2nd. Perhaps I am incorrect, but that is how it looks. ("Batch" referring to each time they *add* more units to the "on-order" number). -

My email says the 20th. Where are you seeing the 30th? -

In all honesty, I was never really satisfied with my Cougar (my CH setup replaced my Cougar...I still own the Cougar as well I just never use it). I have always wanted a stick like the Cougar that works the way I want it too (lighter stick movement feel, tighter mechanical tolerances, Hall technology, etc..), without requiring extensive modifications. I like the idea of the Cougar, but without mods, it just isn't enjoyable for me to use. The Warthog "seems" to be what I was hoping for in the Cougar in the first place. So, in essence, my main reason for the Warthog purchase is to fill the void that Cougar couldn't. It is something new and interesting. With regards to my CH Setup, it still functions the same way today as it did the day I received it (over 5+ years ago). The thing just doesn't seem to wear out. It is a fantastic stick. What people refer to as being "too light of a feel" is something I despised when I first purchased, but got used to extremely fast. It is easily WAY more precise than my Cougar. With regards to functionality, performance, and value, it is the best setup I have owned. It has performed phenomenally well and has definitely stood the test of time. -
The Warthog simulates an A-10 HOTAS arrangement. If you are going to fly DCS A-10 most of the time, that is probably the one I would get (the most realistic). With regards to DCS Blackshark, I just can't see force-sensing working very well. Force-sensing, IMO, just seems gimmicky. I am not surer how much use it really is in current sims. Last but not least, I can't stand Saitek. I have never had a good product from them. No, that is not an exaggeration. Every single product I have had from Saitek either worked for a very short period of time before needing replacement, or didn't work quite right to begin with. I straight up have never had a good experience with them. A lot of folks seem to enjoy the X-52 and whatnot, I never tried that one, but all the other sticks I had from them were a waste of money.

Doesn't really matter either way. It will show up when it does. I have a great CH setup that works well while I wait. :D -

Did you try reinstalling DirectX? -
I passed on shopBLT since they had appeared to sell out on all of their pre-order TM Warthogs. However, it looks like they just posted an update on their site and it appears they are receiving 87 units now. Southern California as well as the East Coast appear to have open pre-order slots now. Just put down my pre-order. :) http://www.shopblt.com/partnum/w121_2960720h.html

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
JG27_Arklight replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I, personally, would love a Tornado. Would't mind an Apache either. Overall, I prefer ground-attack aircraft. Air to air seems like the same thing over and over again....i.e., boring. -
I have had my CH pedals for over 5 years now and have never had an issue with them. Same with my CH Fighterstick and CH Pro Throttle. CH also has a great forum for users and excellent customer service. I will never buy another Saitek product again. I, personally, have never had anything but problems with them.
-
I've never had an issue outside of Raven Shield back in the day, and that was probably my fault. lol Most issues people get from OC'ing can be traced back to improper settings.
-
You can actually pay more for FSX add-ons. lol
-
OC'ing doesn't cause system instability at all if done correctly.
