  1. Right now, I believe they are all reference designs so it doesn't matter. Buy for the warranty and customer support. I prefer Evga for Nvidia products.
  2. I wear a bra on my head. Does that count?
  3. Not to thread hijack (sorry, Gebrian!).............. WynnTTr, how is your performance with that card and what resolution and settings are you running? Thanks!
  4. Sorry for quoting again, but I did some reading at HardOCP, and the ATI 6950 matched or beat the GTX 570 in every test, and it goes for about $300 ($40-$60 less than the GTX 570). From HardOCP: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/12/14/amd_radeon_hd_6970_6950_video_card_review/1
  5. That was a good decision. Anything below 2560x1600 and the very high-end GPU solutions just don't offer much value. It takes very high-res and/or often higher levels of FSAA before the GTX 480/GTX 580/etc.. really become worth it. If you don't run a very high resolution or FSAA levels at high levels there really isn't much point to it outside of being able to tell people you have one....which is silly.
  6. I had read that Nvidia has a few issues since it may have been implemented too fast in an attempt to compete with ATI. Nvidia may have some ew techology this year though to combat the need for SLI when runing multi-monitor. My biggest issue with Nvidia is just that...the need for SLI for multi-monitor. I am a huge Nvidia fan, but they just don't provide much value with regards to multi-moitor setups. I have been considering just going GTX 580 SLI, but it is so damn expensive it's ridiculous.
  7. Actually, the 570 tends to do better at lower resolutions while the ATI 6970 takes the lead at higher resolutions (2560x1600, etc..).
  8. That is true. I think the assumption is that most people will be using 3x the same monitor as opposed to having different models. Cost wise, ATI beats up Nvidia all over the place. I am seriously considering going AMD myself so I can utilize Eyefinity with DCS as well as my racing sims.
  9. Between those three...stick with the 570. Performance on par with the 480, but with lower heat/power consumption.
  10. Eyefinity is one of the 6970's purposes. One of the 5XXX and 6XXXs major selling points is Eyefinity capability. To say that it is "Too much monitor for a card not really built for the purpose", is a little off. People seem to forget that simulators are usually not putting as much stress on a videocard as some of the more "modern" FPS's. Triple monitor for DCS A-10 is not nearly as hardware intensive as say a Metro 2033 or Stalker : CoP. That depends on whether or not the game utilizes Crossfire. If a game does not use/take advantage of CFX, than you are essentially running 1/2 of the 5970. Being a dual GPU solution does not mean you are automatically getting 2x the power of a single GPU solution.
  11. NVSurround supposedly works quite well (better than Eyefinity) and SLI scalability is excellent with the GTX series of videocards. Of course, ATI is definitely superior in terms of bang for your buck. However, if money is of no consequence, I would go SLI GTX 580.
  12. I tested some more, and it was the Warthog. It kept auto-assigning keys when I tried to reassign keys in RFactor. I unplugged the Warthog and RFactor no longer has the mapping issue. Ugh...
  13. *EDIT* Nvm...strangely enough, it looks like my mouse is the culprit. How...I have no idea. Needless to say, I am glad it wasn't the Warthog. lol *EDIT* Nvm again...I have no idea whats going on. :( Mods please delete.
  14. Clickable link quoted! :D
  15. Thanks for the great service, Flim. Talk about no hassle! I'll be recommending your shop to my other simmer friends as well.

  19. Not sure I would order something from a place called, "Crisp Deals". lol
  20. They use FedEx Home Delivery which I beleive covers Saturdays as well. Unfortunately, they don't do so well Thnaksgiving week in my experience. I was in the ETA Nov. 23rd group. Either way, I am sure those who wants WH's will get them. :)
  21. Cost was about $80 difference, but with BLT I would more than likely not receive it until December (I am always leary of shipments around Thanksgiving/Christmas). Also, Flim has responded to all of my questions and posts which tells me SCSimulations provides great customer service. That in itself is worth the extra cost to me.
  22. Thanks for the comments, all. I went ahead and cancelled my BLT pre-order ad ordered from Flim at SCSimulations. :)
  23. Cancelled my pre-order with BLT and ordered from SCSimulations. :)
  24. I know, I've been a Dad for a few years. ;) Lawndart, one of the VTB guys contacted me a while ago regarding emploment in the IT industry (I'm an IT recruiter). :)
