I did not see the guy. I expected him to be there. And suddenly i seen the flares, I was already in close combat mode. So it automatically locked when i put my nose over it and pressed the lock button. To use the radar missile in close combat mode you first have to switch to the Magic IR missile, press V and switch to the radar missile. In this instance the close combat mode was already engaged. It remembered the mode even after respawning. Also a good tip. Sometimes after your death and you go back up in the air your radar does not display any contacts. But if you press the lock button suddenly all the radar contacts show up. For some reason it remembers that radar mode as well after your death.

If i use your logic having no IFF is also unrealistic. Because in real life yo have a entire team behind you in all kind of aircraft and ground bases to help you out with IFF. So using your logic DCS is entirely broken until we have that and they have to fix that first. But that is not going to happen. And your suggestion by doing IFF with AWACS is also unrealistic. Because the AWACS in game knows Friend from foe instantly and in real live even the AWACS does not know that and have to check it against all kind of flight plans and use other systems providing information to them. So we should just take everything out using your logic.

I finally know how to use the Close combat radar mode thanks to Azrayen. But how to get out of it to go back to normal radar scan mode? What button to press or keyboard key? I tried everything. From shutting down radar to configuring all the settings back to default manually. And pressing V several times.Even after i landed and took off again it remembered the close combat mode.

A boring flight ending spectacular with lead blowing out of the sky out of nowhere and me getting my first radar missile kill with the Super 530. I was satisfied.

I know that its coming and i have to do without it for now. That is okay. But what bothers me is that people act like it's not a big deal. Just because they play differently. But i'm having fun now with this module. It's not the end of the world. But it is something we really need.

Sorry... I do use Raygun Calls in chat but most people dont respond. Even when i call my position in from where i lock them up from. A lot of people are not that skilled they can say in a hectic Mp environment if that raygun call is for them.. Or they are being locked by a bandit just as the raygun call go's out. Also AWACS is bugged still gives radar ghosts. And most servers have all planes on both sides. And last of all... I don't have a entire Command and Control Team talking to me telling me what is friend or foe when i join a multiplayer game. If you don't want unrealistic IFF please give me full AWACS simulation, CGI simulation and train the entire server in Military procedures. Otherwise you guy's are just bullshitting. This no IFF is no joke. It only works when you have 10 other systems supporting you that can tell you what is friend or what is foe. Or i highly controlled mission where you know from the beginning what planes are friend or foe. Yesterday i was flying with a F-15 buddy for a long time that could IFF for me.. But than he left. So what next? Should i leave as well?

Yup and this has the annoying effect that people on multiplayer will show as a SU-27 with collapsed gears for the ones that don't own the Mirage M2000C.

After the mission rotated and server restarted i had no more crashes. Must have been a glitch.

Every session i play i crash after maybe 20 / 30 minutes. other people have the same?

OK i think i found it. The radar Illumination switch needs to be on as well.
