  1. Just read the first post lol :lol: You're just raising questions the others have raised. Right, I'll do that for ya. Minsky has manually reduced all the textures to low res and it gave no improvement. He removed all the crew and it did increase FPS to Stennis level. He did put the crew back and switched off the shadows - FPS was equally good to the rest of the map. Why can't you just accept there COULD be smth wrong like Mig 21 radar bug or Hornet SA bug?
  2. Dude it's not reasonable when folks with 2080 go from 200+ to 50 FPS just turning on the shadows. Bother to browse the thread before getting into discussion. Performance hit is expectable. 3-4 times performance hit caused by shadows and only shadows is unacceptable. If u r good with 30 - fine, glad for you. I'm not satisfied when I have 50 over Dubai at low level and 25 on the deck in the middle of the sea. I get 40-50 in UUEE in NGXu btw which is quite complex place. Minsky did a great job researching the problem and at least his first post is worth reading. It explanes why he's unhappy with performance the simplest way possible.
  3. Update: DCS crashes even without OC but much less frequently with the same message in the log. I run 1060 6gb with 451.67.

  5. As the title says, DCS keeps crashing nearly every time when going from F10 to F1 view. Happens mostly in Single Player, Sometimes in MP. System I7-7700HQ, 1060, 16GB Ram, ssd. The GPU is overclocked by 220 Mhz. When overclock is not there, DCS is stable. Now, the GPU passes all the stress tests under overclock and DCS is the only crashing app so it is not the failure of my actions. Temps are stable and low, FPS is stable and high. Crash happens only when DCS has to load up lots of textures (i guess). DCS is fresh and repaired, no mods. Please see two logs from 2 different crashes in attachements. I also did send both automatic crash reports via the built in tool. Thank you. dcs.log
  6. Well, I had a few goes with different setups and 4 cores HT off gives the best result. HT puts terrible stutters in DCS for me.
  7. I got a mobile intel i7 7700HQ which is not the best for sims but i have to get along with it. My subjective feeling is that DCS has much less stutters HT off compared to HT on. The peak FPS is better with HT on on the other hand.

  9. Hello everyone, I have this intel cpu which has 4 cores/8 threads at max. I remember coming across the statement that DCS uses only 2 cores: 1 for main and one for sound. Now, I can run my CPU at: 1 core@3.8 GHz 2 cores@3.6 GHz 3 cores@3.5 GHz 4 cores@ 3.4 GHz I can run all this setups with or without HT. What would be the best choice for me? Which combo would give best results in DCS? I understand that in general 4 cores HT on is best system wise but if DCS has say only 3 threads wouldn’t it be wiser to keep it at 3 cores config? Thanks all for your input and clarification!
  10. Aim 7 launched from hornet doesn't want to pull any significant G after burn is completed. See the attached track. Guidance isn't broken, missiles track target, just won't maneuver. The last one shot from 4 miles pulls 25G without any problem as the burn was not completed. Is this normal behaviour? There was a report about terminal maneuvering of AIM 7 before but it never got [reported]. Thanks for input. Aim7.trk

  12. Hi Grimes, thanks for the input! The problem is the bots do not engage even if I lock them. They just pasively defend and basically die. I also added orbiting task for them not ot go RTB if they dont see targets. I'll try to increase the route and see what happens. When the AI respawns hte task field in F10 map view is empty though it's CAP when it spawns the first time. Thanks, Roman
  13. Hey all! Trying to use respawn script but respawned planes appear to spawn without any task and do not engage any enemies (the original group does engage). I'm pretty new to LUA and may easily screw something up. Thath's what I use: if not Group.getByName('Single FA-18_Guns') then mist.respawnGroup('Single FA-18_Guns', true) end Is there any way to get this running? Thanks for help in advance!
  14. Aim 120 seems to be the only proper non-Russian rocket at the moment. Sparrows are also broken and can’t hit a thing. Let’s hope for July 15th.
  15. +1 here. Did the same to me after using ACM with the gun, then switching to AMRAAMs still in ACM and then pressing undesignate to get out of ACM. HMD was also on.

  17. Hi everyone, I’m creating a mission and seem to have few problems. Hope someone could point me at the right direction to solve those! 1. I create a SEAD flight, at waypoint 0 I set options for them: ROE: designated only, restrict afterburner=Yes, announce target detection=air, missiles. At some waypoint I create few SAMs and create “perform enroute task - attack unit...” This flight seems to ignore additional waypoint actions and uses afterburner and engages first Sam which spikes it which is not the designated target, announces any ground target he sees. Would it help to recreate the group from the scratch and set additional waypoint actions again? 2. I set up 4 flights of 2 planes at Al Minhad. 4 clients with 1 wingmen each. If during taxi of one group the second starts to roll, wingman of the first group stops until there’re no more than 2 moving units in the airport. Is this normal behaviour? 3. The Tacan on the Tanker isn’t working. The task is set and the unit is selected, however, no signal is transmitted. On the first test run it worked, on the other 2 - silence. Any clue? 4. The weather is thick overcast at 200’ and there is a CAS flight which is supposed to attack ground targets with JDAMs. When AI is told to engage primary target and rejoin (the target is set at additional waypoint actions), he goes to IP, then fives below the clouds and tries to search for targets visually. The plane is FA-18 btw. Is this normal behaviour of AI with JDAM without visual contact? I’m unable to provide neither TRK nor MIZ file at the moment unfortunately.   19. Yeah, what's true is we all need to take it easy. I understend the OP, stable is as unplayable as OB, that could be the reason for throwing ed under the bus. ED clearly are going through difficult period with development flow and hopefully will sort thigs out soon. p.s. sorry for 'levels' if it offended you anyhow. Shouldn't have written so :smilewink:
  20. Thanks for the tip, I boosted my card a bit and it gives me approx 30 FPS at night. The issue seams to be more pronounced when looking from the bow at the island, ie at the lamps. This is what I see. https://ibb.co/1X5snXf Don't mind the FPS counter, I have shadows disabled here. Thanks
  21. It’s the least of our problems. The bots are now immortal and the radar doesn’t work except in ACM. How about that? :megalol:
  22. LOL! With the latest patch my radar is not picking up just anything :D I have F4 head on at about 10 nm and the radar doesn't see it. HACQ works though.
