Its not the length thats unrealistic - look at the pictures in real life - notice how the afterburner jet is curved and not a simple cone shape and the colour gradually fades out rather then being a distinct shape all the way through thats why it might not look right - not sure if much can be done about it though

making me jealous now :P really enjoyed building my system. Overcloking the conroe will really help - made huge difference in LOMAC as you'll see.

Look for a profile by a guy named PreCog - I use his and its pretty good - made my own adjustments for a few things i prefer but otherwise its good If you can link me to a site where i could upload ithe file you can have my copy downloaded it so long ago cant remember where i got it sorry

Hope your system runs well - for someone with knowledge on computers you have you deserve it! Just overclocked my 6600 to 3.0GHz its not much but for me its a start. Means I can run LOMAC with full clouds at the peak of the sunrise with full setttings and AA and AS at 20fps - probably couldnt do it if there was 'action' occuring as opposed to a solo flight. might overclock other components too but for now just need to slowly decrease my core voltage :S enjoy your system!

I got that card and my tanks run fine with no glitches I installed the original version not the fixed version. Try redownloading the file maybe?

:P One of the last things on my current list - just configuring the whole game to run how i want it - i.e. screen size and mods and skins and stuff

Just fired up LOMAC on my new rig after a few issues - thanks to all who helpwed me get here - turns out i just typed in the wrong registration key and the only computer building problem was forgeting to plug in the HDD (took the best part of a day to figure :P) whilst most of my games eg. HL2 on full graphics even with full AA + AS arent too special frankly LOMAC is just stunning! well pleased :) thanks

hey got my new PC and lockon v1.00 ran great just threw in the 1.1 CD i made when 1.1 came out - never had issues with installing it back then but now my reg. key wont work (i assume because its already registered to my old PC?) anyways is there a way round this without forking out for a new copy? i uninstalled it form my old PC but no starforce unregistration came up so no chance there :( thanks

Now i actually know why you would need paste it seems sensible enough - my only theory was that it was there to stop dust and foreign objects touching the CPU heating up, burning and leaving scorch marks on it. guess no then. My guess is i probably read it wrong in the excitment :P I'll definitley do a lot more thorough reading tomorrow when the rest hopefully arrives. thanks again guys

Its no problem anymore - am just ordering the gloop now - total price just over £12 bit of a bummer not just adding that to the overall package earlier - just another mistake to learn from though The CPU is in the shipment still to come so no idea if it has any thermal protection. The motherboard manual said to apply paste to both the underside and the front. Thanks for the quick advice

Links would be nice if you can spare the time - I bought an arctic cooler 7 but no paste. Would it be ok to apply the paste later when i get some and leave the CPU stock in the mean time (i.e. no overclocking) ? this is my first build so not sure how much it would mean to have to dismantle the entire motherboard just to put paste on the CPU - sounds quite a hassle though :P thanks again

Half the PC arrived today - the other part is being shipped still All looking good so far - my only question is --- is CPU paste worth bothering with? seeing as i never bothered to get any and dont want to have to delay the entire PC for paste? thanks

E6600 - will overclock loads i hope 965P DS3 Sapphire x1900xt 580W hiper 1GB 675Mhz DDR2 - will buy another Gig when got some extra cash 1440x900 samsung monitor 250GB HDD - but will buy plenty more of that when have the money for it Anyone run lomac on something similar? just ordered it after weeks of choosing and reading up so SHOO if you're gonna complain to me about it :P will let you know how things go when i get it up and running later this week

Thanks for the imput - surprised so many of you use laptops for lomac Think my best bet is to build my own PC now and then buy a £300 laptop before I go to uni so i can take it to lectures (it only needs to run word to be honest :P) just wondered if it would be a better bet to combine the PCs but I thought about it and id love to build and mod my own PC - and having only 100GB of space wouldnt help much either. Thanks though

How many people use a laptop and primarily play LOMAC on it? What are your specs and how well does it run? is there anything I should look out for? Also do many people upgrade theirs? most of the computer building sites I go on don't mention laptops much. Thanks in advance - thinking of getting a laptop for university but still want to play gmaes :P
