I doubt they'll destroy them all Viper. Some will go to museums and historical centres.

To my knowledge it's the same story as it is here, a lot of stuff is on hold. Valery and Gys are making a lot of progress though, and their WIPs get posted here often enough. I'm sure some from the Russian forum will inform us if anything is made available so don't worry about missing out.

You should try ArmA, the sun blinds you in that, everything goes dark as clouds pass in front of it. Also if you look through night vision then turn it off you have to wait for your eyes to adjust to the light before you can see. From what I've seen of cellfactor revolution it looks better than what you described of IL-2, pity it requires a physics card. If the effects are present in Crysis at the end of this year then it is likely to raise the standard, so even if you don't intend to buy it hope it looks good. Few mainstream gamers care for flight sim standards, so even when something is achieved in IL-2 5 years ago, it still isn't in games today.

There was a program called sphere3D (or something like that) that let you run Windows inside a sphere such as your cube. Don't see any point in rendering some complex shape though :P

Yeah I know it's not Lockon but I don't care :P Hate the fact that the cockpit isn't fully anti-aliased (the radio wires are twisted that's why they look un-AAed ¬_¬) and yes I know I have an external read-out but someone forgot to model HUDs in IL-2 what's up with that? :D Oh and the waves are going the wrong way because there is extreme long-shore-drift occuring (climate change ¬_¬), and the plane might not be a true sundowner but it was in my game. Yeah I feel I have to point out every little error I can before some smart arse shows up and tries to show me up.

Black Shark Update, 16 September 2007

Ooh I have an announcement! I'm buying IL2-1946 Yeah I know, calm down :P -
I'd rather be admiring the finished project then editing :P I see your point but often to get the best result it takes a lot of time and boredom butall the little things take lots of time add up, and when you present your work to those who appreciate it you'll know it was worth it.

Cougar HOTAS questions!
EscCtrl replied to Raised_Dead85's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
CH products are too expensive for the casual simmer such as myself though. It's difficult to warrant $100 for an X45 I bought years ago let alone several hundred for a modded joystick such as a CH product, those things belong in the diggers they were originally made for and not in your homes making me jealous! As for profiles, if you are talking about getting them for the X52 I think Precog made some for it, he made one for the X45 which I use and it works great. Might want to check LockonFiles for it. -
They won't work for anyone else either, and if you believe the rumours it's because the site is being prepared for a big announcement.

If you cut carefully in the first place you shouldn't need this, zoom in up to 1000% or so, so that you can see the pixels and cut out with more detail, that way you won't need to hide errors in the edging. Make sure to check the 'add selected area' option, this way you can select an area then another to add to the total area, but if you make a mistake you can undo the last area you added.

Core 2 duo E6600 temperatures?
EscCtrl replied to graywo1fg's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wondering if I should apply some better quality thermal paste as opposed to the stock stuff that came with the fan I bought. -

http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Core-Duo-Temperature-Guide-ftopict221745.html Useful guide ^ Ok it seems you should not listen to what I said in my earlier post about any temperatures being fine, whilst my computer runs great after some reading it seems it's 'dangerous'. Think I need to rethink how to cool it. -
Core 2 duo E6600 temperatures?
EscCtrl replied to graywo1fg's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is the program I use and what it shows. All the programs seem to calculate different temperatures from what I hear, so tell me which program we will all use so we can compare effectively and I will get that. -
Started playing PF again today, I can play it all on above full graphics (went into the config and upped the settings) Looks stunning (though water=2 as I have an ATi card so can't go to 4) Haven't tried a large battle with hundreds of aircraft yet, the only time the PC struggled was playing Tarwara over the lagoon, still looked great though.

Core 2 duo E6600 temperatures?
EscCtrl replied to graywo1fg's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Pff depends which temperatures you read, My 6600 is clocked to 3.2GHz and using CPU temp it reads 51єC and the Tjunction reads 82єC. I wouldn't worry about it topo much, as long as you aren't getting heat around 60єC idle then your fine I've heard. -
If you have a copy of ModMan there should be a tool for extracting the CDDS files. used it a few times but never really did much with it so am not the one to know which file exactly you are looking for.
-
Do we? I hadn't really thought about it to be honest, kept thinking to myself 'ha, look at those suckers waiting for their precious release date' never occured I'd be impatient for it. I doubt I'd get it on release though, as I will have university then and things will be hectic. Not a good a release date for me (if ED are reading and need help deciding when :P) I'll still buy it anyway because they deserve it.

Scared, this is a clear sign no game will ever be released again, and you'll have to pay all game developers a monthly fee to stop them eating your house! Something like that. You don't ask for much do you.

I realise you have to make those adjustments, I have FSX set so that effect occurs but it's so slight I can easily ignore it. We'll see but I think people are making it sound far harder then it really is. -

I've managed perfectly fine without pedals in other sims and rarely use the rudder any more than I would with a plane sim. The only time I could use accurate yaw control is when you turn using the rudder then release the rudder, if you release it too fast the aircraft yaws fairly violently back into the original direction, the trick is to smoothly reel it off. Other than that I doubt they'd be necessary. -

I'm no helicopter ace but i've never found controlling them that difficult. Seems intuitive much like planes are :P I don't see why anyone here would find it difficult either, even the first few steps shouldn't be a problem, you can fly 'choppers like planes too. If you want to pull harder corners you have to bank massively and pull back like a fighter - least I've always done it that way. -
