  1. It's the new integrity check option came with 2.8. it'll detect if any .lua files changed in the module installs, and will give IC fail if you play with any of those modules.
  2. From my testing it seems if there are more than like 7 radars RWR wont show anything, HMD primary threat indication will still work. Did some 1v1s and it was working in those. Only happens if the server is crowded example below, F14 launched aim54 with stt inside 6nm, I don't have anything on rwr but missile launch warning + hmd showing it (there are more than 10 other radars looking at me here, all inside 15nm with los
  3. Hi all, we in VTAF are looking for new members. We've participated in most of the competitive events in the 21-22 season and will be participating in the next season too. Here's a summary of our 1st year : - TACT 21-1 (Quarter Finals) (together with Bravo) - SATAL 2021 Gold 4v4 (1st place) - DCSWE Championships Gold 4v4 Finals (2nd place) - TACT 22-1 (Finals, 2nd place) (together with Mumblerines) We seek higher achievements in the next season, and looking for players who always strive for the better. What we are looking for : First of all -> 18+ and able to speak English, a HOTAS and any sort of head tracking. - Players that are eager to learn and invest time - Enough free time to play, we train&play around 19z on weekends - Competitive mindset, preferably with previous competitive experience (including other games) It's completely fine if you are new to PvP as long as you have the will to learn and to win. We have enough time and experience to help/train you, and get you into the fields asap. You can find further info on our discord, and you can ask any questions you have through discord DMs to me. https://discord.gg/RMtTnEXjFn
  4. Spotting gets easier as you lower the resolution. And antialiasing gets better as you go upwards. So, if you really care about spotting, I'd go for 1080p. I'm using a 27" 1080p and its just fine. In 1080p you'll have those "staircase effects" even if you put on 4x msaa or 2x ssaa. In 2K, its much better. In a nutshell eyecandy and casual flying = 2K if your pc specs also support it at acceptable fps You already like how your game looks, and dont want to lose frames for no reason, also helps with the budget? = 1080p Can't tell anything about 32" or higher, but my 27" is just brilliant and havent had any issues ever.
  5. Had the same problem and tried everything else until I fixed it by updating the GPU drivers. Suggesting to check if yours are up to date. None of the fixes mentioned here or on other topics helped me, but GPU driver fixed the problem.
  6. Its not on forums, I and a few friends of mine submitted tracks privately after the 2.8 and some of the issues were already being checked internally, rest is hopefully being worked on after the reports. We do not know what exactly got changed in the update because nothing was on the notes but behaviour change is reported and acknowledged as a problem.
  7. We sure ED is not investigating the AIM-120 being notched single handedly in up look? Or in general, do you think they really consider AIM-120 is fine? Its not derailed, yet. "The player will get better at notching that too" Well, yes. But no. Lets take the past 2 years as example : Notching existed all the time, RWRs did not change. 2 years ago, AIM-120 was tracking fairly decent in close range. Now its missing the target in uplook inside <4nm launches and sometimes even with STT support. RWR was the same back then, so we were not seeing 10x10 amraams ending up in merges as much as we see now. Im not saying "Notching should be impossible" It'll be possible, I am pointing that it should be harder for missile to lose track this stupidly in very close ranges and with support. Make RWR unprecise? Then players will get better at reading angles and headings. Players will always play with what they have. Now they have a missile with very poor tracking + precise RWR, so they can play just by looking at RWR Give them unprecise RWR, they'll look at hud (or in VR just look to the 3/9) Give them better missile, they'll still do either of those but at least you'll have a missile that is properly tracking inside extremely close ranges and best possible conditions. Do not try to fix the problem A with making the C worse. Fix the A. edit: very simple example of what Im saying DCS Trash AMRAAMs #4 (OB 2.7.16.27869) - YouTube DCS World 2022 - Trash AMRAAMs - YouTube
  8. RWR is not the problem here. Has been discussed countless times before, its still very easy to notch without RWR. Just get in a lookdown position and beam. You do not need the precise 1° info your RWR gives. RWR too good? Maybe yes, maybe not. Missiles miss because of RWRs? No. AIM-120 has been going downhill after the 2.8 update again, and its acknowledged that theres something wrong with it. So why continue trying to derail every AIM-120 bug report with saying the same thing? Its obvious that its not the problem.
  9. I have the same problem, definitely started after the patch RTX 3060 10400F 32GB DDR4
  10. I know its not a bug but couldnt find anywhere better to post this. I think CMDS files for every aircraft can be excluded from the IC scripts check because I'm pretty sure no one can exploit anything from those files. And it gets very annoying having to set up the programs every time
  11. Thanks for the reply I just thought if it would be possible with addings custom binds. I never use the AZ/EL and hardly ever carry ATFLIR, not a a2g guy myself. And hardly ever use bias. If we had a workaround it'd be very cool for me Maybe one day, they'll have lots of free time and add it as an option Thx again
  12. Have a question here, want to know if its possible to do. If you have flown the F-16 and you binded radar elevation control to a rotary, you'd know how it works. Its kind of "scaled" to your rotary's total rotation. So each 1° rotation has a specific radar antenna elev. value But in the F/A-18, things are different. IRL it uses a spring loaded rotary so as long as you push it, it'll continue to go up/down. Not "scaled" like the Vipers. And this is very uncomfortable for me because I dont have a spring loaded rotary on my hotas so either I have to use buttons (not as useful as having it on a rotary like the viper) or I need to use my rotary but its almost impossible to control. Can I add an axis bind to hornet's controls to be able to control the radar elevation logic to be like the viper? Any help appreciated
  13. Afaik changing codes are not implemented yet And for the main problem -> Flight member datalink only works if units are set in the same group from mission editor. If they are all seperate groups, they'll only see each other as just another L16 participant. So its not a bug, or an issue with the server. Its just the way it has been set to
  14. Tested now, I don't have the issue. Moves only if I move my TDC slew
  15. I used this method with TGP one or two weeks ago and didn't have any issue. Commenting here so I wont forget and can test further later today.
  16. You are very, very wrong my friend and I suggest u to not comment with little to knowledge about someone. I used the dedicated server build for 2 years. And I am definitely not saying "You can do this X way so stop wanting the actual solution" Do your math with having a single map, as I stated in my first comment about the workaround. I never host any map except caucasus and syria. Server + maps = 165gb and will increase with the upcoming maps + updates to every map Client + syria only = 171gb on my server now, and will not increase with the upcoming maps or updates to maps I didn't install edit : Just so you know more, "workaround"s are never meant to be proper solutions. And no one forces you to go that way lol You want to host only 2 maps? and don't have space for upcoming maps? You CAN use the workaround. Otherwise, do not throw mud at it, because its obviously not for you. Also check my other comments to see I too want maps to be optional.
  17. You can run DCS in server mode without GUI. So no need for a graphics card. We've been doing it this way before dedicated server build ever existed
  18. Radar missiles are very important in the flankers. You have powerful engines and a missile (ER) that has a decent tail chase performance in straight flight. You can utilise those radar missiles any way you want actually. Make the target go cold, then sit on his 6 and if you are closing the gap, shoot the ER when you get to the parameters. Or if the target is increasing the distance, he'll turn to re-engage eventually. Wait for it, then launch your ET so he'll be unaware of it and hopefully die while trying to lock you up. Playing only EO is a bad, very bad idea. Not every plane you'll face has the same IR signature and EO is not that great in front aspect&high distance&non-AB targets. And if you do EO only you'll teamkill a lot of people, since no IFF in EO. (Flashing the radar on/off is a workaround for it) Your datalink is immune to LoS effect, make sure to utilize it if you see an opportunity for it. If the terrain is mountainous, use the terrain to LoS the missiles so you can re-engage a lot faster. You can just play with an ambush CAP style, but experienced flanker players pick the high alt&high speed gameplay over it. More aggressive and way more punishing if your target makes a mistake.
  19. Nope, if you set the unlimited ammo&fuel on, it stays on for all units the entire time. There's no toggling of it during the mission
  20. You can download maps without needing to own them from Skatezilla's updater utility. Im using it to host the servers
  21. I had to do a little work around and download the normal DCS client for our new server. VDS/VPS providers generally dont provide disk upgrades, you have to upgrade the whole server. With client DCS its around 120gb but without any map. Downloaded syria, made it 170gb. Almost same and 10gb less from server install w/all maps. And dont need to worry about updates to unnecessary (for us) maps and their sizes. Recommended for everyone who wants to host caucasus only or with another single map.
  22. I'm talking about dedicated server install. You don't have anything optional, it downloads every map from the first install
  23. 1 year and still no update on this, its getting out of hand with every update and I can't even imagine how will it be with the new maps when they release (prob. next year?) We MUST have a workaround for this or just ED letting us optionally download the maps
  24. I hope I got what you said correct. In DCS you can think of 2 different kinds of DL, one being a general channel and other is seperate flights. When 2 or more aircraft (up to 4) are set in the same group in the mission editor (should be the same airframe), you'll see others in your group as your flight members. What does it do? Nothing huge imo, just shares who is targeting who (with some kind of delay and I think an error margin?) But even if two aircraft are not set in the same group, lets say an F/A-18 and F-16, they still share data between each other, no need for AWACS. Example setup from F16 HSD, I have a wingman in the same group with me, I see him as 2 (2nd plane in the group) Other friendly is an hornet, and he's sharing the bandit at 29k with me. No AWACS, everyone can still transmit and receive data Hope it is an answer for your question
  25. Guess I'll play with these when not playing in a public server, still great job man it really feels like a new map. Being someone who has seen the region irl and familiar with it, these new textures are spot on! Thanks a lot for your work
