Is it possible to get the other bits in PSD available? Like the tanks and so on? (If they don't exist already) If so can somebody point them to me then?

So you want amateur-made MOD.
I don't recall inferring that, but no I don't.

You can still make liveries, and we are looking at ways to improve working with the encrypted models.
Nice, thanks man.

I mean I don't care either way, FF or not, but I'm sure they could do something.

It will be encrypted. Such a shame.
Well, then I'll have to rethink getting it then. I mean I still got the Flaming Cliffs version to play with, so there's that.

Will we be able to make more liveries, or will the model be encrypted?

I won't lie, but it feels like ED is kind of neglecting the Russian Navy. I think an update or at least a new module could really help bring it to life a bit more.
Well they got a lot on their plate, so it may happen and maybe somebody will focus on that, or not. Unfortunately gotta wait and see. At least we can wish for it now.

I agree, I don't need (or really require) a full fedelity version, just something so I can fly around and shoot stuff, and fly around and stuff.

Pretty much, so unless (which I doubt they would), they would do such a thing, or come up with a plugin (if that's possible) for .edm, so they'd have to figure that out. I mean a program that they come up with would of course work, but I'm sure they're a bit busy as it is.

I definitely understand why ED wants to encrypt things, and I don't think the encryption itself is bad or anything. It makes it easier for ED to protect their products and prevent them from being snatched up and used in other games or anything like that.
I just really hope making the model viewer work with the encrypted files is a priority as well. I can't remember if I mentioned it here or in another thread, but I would love if there was a way to use a tool like Substance Painter too. I imagine that could help speed the painting process up by a ton, assuming it works the way I imagine it does. Unfortunately, since I don't have a way to really use it with DCS or Il-2's models, I've never had an excuse to really get it and try it out for skin creation. But if I could just paint on the actual 3D model and not have to play the "Let's line up this straight line that's rendered slightly differently between these two different texture files" ever again, I certainly wouldn't be mad about it.
Substance Painter (I used Deeppaint with another simulator though, but that was like 2004 or 5 after Iraq, or before..) is a good program to use for skins, but I still stick with the ModelViewer workflow, which I'm sure everybody else does, it would save a lot of time ane work. Anyway if they modify ModelViewer to read encrypted files and allow for texture work, then they can protect their content whilst allowing for more content (skins at least) to be created, and it will allow them to keep their privacy and other legal issues, so I agree with you on that. Whether or not they do that remains to be seen of course, but it wouldn't be a bad idea and we all win too.

My history on here probably shows as much, but I love throwing together fun skins for the various modules we get. Especially since it's impossible for ED or the various third parties to conceivably cover all of the different liveries out there (not that our hard drives would want them to anyway) and it's really a lot of fun, even if it turns into hours of frustration trying to line up two pixels on the weird wing joins of the F-14 to get a stupid line right.
I'm really hoping if the models are going to be archived going forward, which I understand the point of from ED's perspective, that they are going to at least update the model viewer before that become the norm, so we can at least continue working.
Even on my relatively beefy computer, having to run multiple high resolution templates in Photoshop with the potentially hundreds of layers on each one, while opening DCS and having to load a mission just to go "Oh, no, that line is still 3 pixels too far off" is really time consuming and frustrating, to the point of being enough to kill my enjoyment and make me not want to do it at all.
I've thrown together skins for the F-14, MiG-21, Mi-24 and the Ka-50, and I would love to have the MiG-29 added to the list with all of the great variety we would have doing some of the IRIAF skins and the really interesting weathering you can see on current Syrian Air Force examples. But if it become a chore, I just don't see myself putting in the time. That video really is full of them. This looks damn near like a real life photo, which would have been hard to even imagine back when I was playing Flanker 2.5 or the original Lock On back in high school. I thought the graphics back then were mind blowing. I still remember seeing the DCS update about the new Mi-24 model and textures back in Lock On and having my mind blown that the tires actually looked bulged from the weight of the thing. null
I've done a few skins too and I mean is it a loss if the new MIG-29A is encrypted? In the long run no, but I'll be like "WTF?" and so on, so there's that. Overall I can't effect how it's handled, but I do hope they don't encrypt it, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot content-wise, given the amount of skins on the User Files in the first place. I mean that's a new model, new textures, new template, hopefully at least.

No problem, yours look good too, may check them out as well...

I mean that's a valid request, but let's see if they don't encrypt the module first, then we can talk about new liveries. I mean I'm angling for some Fictional ones, and a real world one, but given the F-5 issue, let's wait and see before we get too excited.

Module developers, even ED, can't just manifest something out of nowhere. The F-35 that is in service today doesn't even have HARM or AARGM integrated yet. With absolutely no information to work on unlike other instances, ED can't just make the largest assumptions to put the HARM or AARGM on our F-35.

No problem. No the A-10s all have the same texture setup, so you can use them interchangeably. Which makes it nice if you want to pimp a skin or whatnot on your ride. Anyway good to hear it's good to go.

They're on the CombatAce site. It's a long and sordid story that will break a forum rule, so I'll just keep to "a long story" for the moderators to ignore. But I'm going through them as they were done years ago, and I wanted them back for people to enjoy. I'm going to do new content, but don't know when, so I'm passing the time re-establishing myself on here and the main DCS site

I think I should note through a long story, that I'm merely re-uiploading skins. I might be helping somebody out with some skins or not, but overall these are re-uploads, not current work or whatnot.

Not if it's encrypted like the F-5E. Well, you might get some simple, run of the mill skins but not any good quality ones since all of the experienced / talented skinners will refuse to touch it. However, I did pre-purchase it as a gesture of support for ED and am crossing my fingers for a good outcome for the Livery community. Waiting to hear what @BIGNEWY and @NineLine have to say about it.
Yeah I skinned the F-5 for somebody years ago, and I think it was before they encrypted the models, so I did the work and moved on, and took a break due to not enough hard drive space., Now that I got a better laptop with more space, I can get back into it now, so that's good. As for the Mig-29 agreed, it'd be a real shame if they didn't encrypt it though, as I'd like to mess with it myself.
