I know this thread is old but its still relevent. IS anyone still having fps drops when FARP lights turned on. I was hovering over the farp when its lights with 40fps, then i contacted them and they switched the lights on, all of a sudden down to 7fps. Given this thread was started in 2009 - 4 years later still not fixed????

Ah i didnt do it through waypoint options, rather just clicked on the tab next to the waypoint set one and did it there. Anyway got it working true heuy style and they are broadcasting fortunate son haha great. i may put a playlist togther, and make a dcs radio station :P Great thead btw thanks very much

Wess or anyone else that can answer, How did you get those infantry units to broadcast that sound. I think you said in the video "this is just the sound ive chosen" so do you have to pick a sound file. I went into mission editor and went to perform command/set frequency and then put in just "40" but when i go and fly nothing. cant even get the VOR/ILS instrument to move. Ive made sure several times by checking the video that i set it up right?

Hey ive got the same problem here. None of datalink keyboard default comands are working, but this is the same keyboard i have always used. (laptop) and never had problem. i tried reassigning them by deleting them all and then putting them back in on the game but still not work? any ideas

Once i make a sever for multiplayer and i load it, then select aircraft this is what i get. then i press fly and the game sound begins (as if it were unpaused) despite the fact it is not unpaused as you can see in second screenshot. OK thanks for the responses so far. since i can remember the editor was always slow on this comp and you had to wait about 2 seconds after you click for it to select vehicle. I disabled antivirus and it now runs superfast in the editor. this is a small victory as this was such a pain for my brother. however after seeing it work i put the AV back on and the editor is still running superfast.(i know something is happened as it was slow this morning before i did anything) weird! however the fps drops still occur. So i put vsync on and tripple buffering like you said but nothing out of the ordinary, just capps it at 60 and the fps spikes still bring it down to 20ish fps I just want to clarify exactly how these spikes occur and i monitered performace during it too. After pressing fly it starts with 60fps (vysnc on) while the game runs normally 4.12GB of my 8GBRAM is utalised and 30-47% of the cpu. The fps drop occurs whether i dive or remain at altitude however it seems to occur sooner when i go low level. nevertheless it returns back from 20-27fps to the original 60fos after 5-10seconds over smoke or buildings it doesnot matter i can always get 60fps. then randomly maybe very soon after or for maybe 2 mins its happens again. During the spikes the RAM still at 4.12 and cpu as above. Thanks 4 you help i sense someones close to fixing this please keep thinking !

What do you mean swapping to HDD? i've had a fiddle with his antivirus. he uses avast antivirus the free version. What would i be looking for in the antivirus software that might be screwing around with dcs. His specs i7-3820QM 2.7-3.6GHz 8GB memory 64 bit windows 7 GTX675 1.5GB driver version up to date version 320.49

My brothers computer runs DCS on 45-60fps in cockpits and 70+ outside but approximatley every 20/30 seconds the frames drop to 16-20 for no apparent reason. For example He may be still on the ground doing absolutly nothing. No mirrors no vsync Low clutter water medium No TSSAA ive changed the setting around but never made any difference. Has anyone experienced the same behaviour?// Regards Patrick

hey dude i think there is a bug at the moment for all FLC aircraft using the CCIP and CCRP modes they are way off. Its in the fix list for 1.2.5 so dont worry you are not failing. However You do need to use the laser in most senarios to increase accuracy

No the parts on the pro pair that force you to place your whole foot off the ground. They have a lip at the bottom aswell.

ok say i went with the pro pedals. Is it possible to remove the heel rests? This will be my desicion maker

Hmm dilema since i am a massive helicopter fan and fixed wing. The p51 in particular needs constant attention on the pedals. Ahh!

I need better convincing than just looks especially for an extra £50 when its gonna be under the table with a foot on it/ 2hrs till i buy still undecided :S

Thanks Anton but my question is still unanswered. Do they perform the same if they have the same inner workings? Ive seen a pro pair for £65 and some combats for £110. If they the same inside im not convinced its worth spending the extra money for just shape and material though it would be nice. pat

Ive read on other threads that the internal workings of the combat and the pro saitek pedals are infact the same. Discounting any disadvantage due to shape (heel on/off) do they perform equally as good / controlable and sensitive? I think im looking to save money here so im hoping they do perform the same. Also any serious software issues/hardware (problems in past with x52pro scarred me). I plan not to use the SST if i can avoid it. thanks pat

it was carring military vehicles and apparently they shifted towards the rear on takeoff

+1 for the club, smoke, explosions and cluster bombs + rocket bring 50 frames to 5. I like the current scenery, would want to lose it unless it was redone.

the latest drivers from the saitek site. I havent the software installed and i dont intend to.

Hi x52pro problem again. one of these days i will torch it Ive given up trying to install the software i just have the latest drivers on. As a result it works fine!! I program it in game and i can fly fine no problems whatsoever, all happy and dandy. When ive finished i unplug the stick, still no problems. Only then when i go to shut down my computer it takes a while to log off, then switches to saying shutting down and this goes on forever and i always have to hold the boot switch to shut it off. whats weird is if i turn the computer and dont plug the stick in then use it for whatever, then turn it off its fine. basically only when i use the stick this problem happens but if i dont you wouldnt even know there was a problem. any ideas please, i dont want to have to force a reboot everytime i use the stick.

Thanks for the post sel, i was unclear, i actualy have one and it works fine its that i cant get it to work on my brothers computer. the problems above apply to his computer

I got my brother an X52pro same as me but im having so many issues trying to get it to use profiles. Ive got it to a point where the drivers are installed and the software. i can edit profiles in the profile editor but whenever i try to then select the profile to use it, it does not respond just a little loading circle where the stick symbol should be. there seems no way to make it respond so i shut down to try again but this always results in a blue screen when the computer says shutting down. anyone no anything? Also i should mention i have had trouble installing the software. iIt blue screened 3/4 of the way through when i tryed to reinstall yet i can still use the profile editor? doesnt make sense.
