Nice upgrade for only $20. Thanks ED
-
Thanks Jim but I want to hold out for Amazon (US) as I have $225 in credits on that account. :)
-
That's a good price from Zavvi but i've read they are bad about shipping and you have to wait a loooooooong time for delivery. I'll wait, i've got plenty to hold me over. :)

Thanks Wags (July-Sept 2011 Take Two) :pilotfly:
-
Thanks Nate but it's still not available on their US site. :( edit: I sent them an email, hopefully they'll carry it soon.

Thank you for the quick reply and also for making me touch my screen for the bug that was never there. :megalol:

I haven't seen it on any websites including Amazon, and GoGamer, (they are rebooting their website) and it's MIA on Ebay. I was hoping to find it for $39.99 instead of $60. That's what I paid for Black Shark on Amazon. Is A-10C even sold by retailers as of yet? :)
-
It is out now but the boxed retail version according to the FAQ says July 2011 and Amazon.com has no listing for DCS: A-10C. Even so I have store credit I want to use to buy this sim. :pilotfly:

Hi just a small question. Can ED please give the SKU to Amazon.com so they can at least list this sim for pre-order? :) I want to preorder the game through them. I have Amazon store credit I want to use when purchasing the game.

How many more weeks until A10-C DVD is released?

How many more weeks until A10-C DVD is released?

I'm in the US, will we be able to buy it from Amazon.com? :) -
Bravo :clap_2:

If that's the case then the user would not have been able to activate it in the first place. And DCS: Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs require online activation as well. And you only have to reactivate if you formatted the hard drive or the configuration drastically changed. Hopefully ED and Starforce will allow us to backup the activation key so as not to reactivate in case of a reformat. The only time this could be a problem is if the hardware is generating false activations and i'm sure Starforce is looking at ways around that. Like I said barring NO DRM there is no single way to please everyone. I just feel this is the fairest way to do things. And this idea is not new by the way. Microsoft employs similar DRM for their Xbox Live games you download and buy. If you want to transfer all of your games onto another Xbox 360 console you can only do that one time per every 12 months. So IMO both ED and Starforce have taken the fairest approach to online activation. I have no problems with that.

While, there's a tradeoff with everything I think this is a very fair way of doing things. Kudos to ED and Starforce. I like that we no longer have to bug support for more refills.

Ask Panzer or one of the other mods they'll help you get a reload of activations. There was a thread in this forum on how to make that request via an email request but I can't seem to find it ATM. Wags had started this thread. It should apply to Black Shark as well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=7698

NVIDIA 258.96 drivers watchout...
Rodney replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have had other issues with those drivers and not overheating. I like two driver releases that have given me good results. 191.07 and 197.45* best results of the bunch. -
Thank you m8. I just found it in the FAQ Panzer referred to.

Gentlemen please excuse my laziness for not reading all 59 pages. When is this suppose to go retail for release? My desktop rig is down atm and the laptop from which I type this would laugh at me if I tried to run it.

I second what EtherealN says. Your hardware should be way more than enough for FC2. One thing i'd like to add which I forgot to mention but someone else did is to try setting your Maximum pre-rendered frames to = 0, you can also experiment with 8 to test maximum extreme settings. My hunch is it's the 64 bit Nvidia drivers. Even though I have 4GB of ram I'm running W7 32bit. I was having serious stuttering issues with certain games. Once I switched over to 32 bit, things got much better. If I were going to replace my Nvidia 9800GTX+ i'd get the GTX 460 because it's running on the much newer GF 104 GPU chip. They are faster, run cooler, require less power than the GF 100 GPU's. If you are in the US Newegg.com was running a special for the MSI Cyclone 1GB overclocked card $204 after rebate with free shipping.
-
That happens with a lot of games too! Richard Burns Rally and Colin McRae 3 come to mind. One thing I have done to alleviate the problem is to create a Nvidia profile. I set V-Sync "ON", set triple buffering to "ON", threaded optimization to "OFF". Once in the game if it allows me to I bring up Task Manager and set the Priority to "REALTIME". It helps a lot with certain games.

I should have emphasized lazy. :smartass:

Ouch 46 pages to read, too lazy for that lol. :music_whistling: When will we be able to preorder A-10C? Will it be available via Amazon.com in the US?
-
Mate if you bought the DVD version it's the back cover (last page) of your manual. This applies to Black Shark and FC2. Look for it, install the game, provide the serial number and start flying. :) :pilotfly:
-
That's the reason why I decided to purchase a E8500 instead of going Quad. I'm not sold on the platform yet and most of my games are older so Quad would not help those. EtherealN, you made an interesting comment that you get better results running STOCK and not overclocking. Can you elaborate? I thought the opposite would be true.

Wow the screenshots look awesome, can't wait for this one. :pilotfly:
