  1. I'm getting a crash to desktop when trying to run 1.5 with the DK2. Munu loads up fine but when I start the mission DCS just closes. I have the latest Nvidia drivers (355.98) installed and beta 0.7.0.0 for the Oculus runtime. =\
  2. Gotta launch the updater not the beta. It's in your start menu.
  3. oh boy oh boy oh boy. I think it's live.
  4. I've never click one icon so many times without any results before (Update DCS World OpenBeta)
  5. Oh how wrong you are. The refresh rate SHOULD be around 90 to get a clean experience. Read up on VR a bit and you'll understand why the refresh rate is so important. Minimum specs for CV1 is a GTX 970 anyway so you'd probably have to upgrade anyway.
  6. Point taken. I was mostly referring to "Razbam Wednesdays" and any other "updates" that seem to have ended sometime in 2014. Thank you for the link I will continue to look for more information regarding this module.
  7. I'm surprised so many people are jumping on board so early. We've seen nothing in DCS from this company, and their first offering is priced along the lines of the A-10C (which is a masterpiece) That bar is set so high, that I wouldn't even take a chance pre-ordering. Add in the lack of communication on the forums, it's a "wait for reviews" module for me.
  8. THE VISUALS A 1,200 by 1,080 pixel screen in front of each eye, with refresh rates of a blistering 90 frames per second, displays photorealistic imagery that fills your field of vision in all directions, eliminating the jitter common to previous VR technologies and transporting you to another world. -This is directly from HTC website. I'll take this information over what "some user" said.
  9. I guess people really don't like reading.. :music_whistling:
  10. Thanks for the reply, would you mind posting the model # of your Vizio? I'll take a look at it.
  11. That and you wouldn't see the glare like you're staring into the bright sun with no cloud cover. The HDR effect seems to still be in full swing.
  12. Is the clouds/mist/rain whizzing past the cockpit new or have I just not noticed that in our current DCS: World engine?
  13. Hey, Nice setup. I have a similar setup with the Obutto cockpit and Warthog additions, with the warthog obviously. Just waiting for a decent 4k monitor now. Samsung 40" curved 4k is looking like the closest bet right now.
  14. Anyone see this? It's basically a proof of concept for using Leap Motion in a cockpit environment. https://developer.leapmotion.com/gallery/vr-cockpit
  15. Can someone recap real quick what was said in todays stream about what 1.5 will include. Is it the new, unified exe? (I missed the first few minutes of the stream)
  16. I'm curious if 1.5 will have the unified exe and other improvements for mission editor. I'm sure he'll address that during the stream this weekend. It feels like it's been my whole gaming career I've been waiting for DCS World 2 :megalol:
  17. Water in EDGE You mentioned in one of your streams that the water will no longer look like it's "under" the terrain. Is this because the water is no longer just a flat plane under the terrain, and if not, does that mean we can get some of the same "effects" that were enhanced for the ocean water but not rivers and streams that were at a higher elevation?
  18. Thanks John, those are the "two other things" I shut off. Didn't help. I think this model Seiki is just not suitable for a PC monitor.
  19. Tried.. the TV doesn't have a "game mode" but it does have a few features like 3D sound and two other things that I turned off. Nothing helps =\ I'm wondering if people would be kind enough to post their 4k TVs/Monitors over 40" that work well as a main desktop display & DCS. Model numbers would be amazing!
  20. Yeah, I figured since the OP used a 4k Seiki TV @ 30hz I'd have no problems getting a newer version with HDMI 2.0 support. Who would have thought they'd totally screw their latest model?
  21. Love the setup. I just wanted to ask about your 4k Vizio. How is the input lag? I just received a Seiki 42" 4k w/ HDMI 2.0, and I cannot use it at all with my computer. It's at least a quarter second delay from when I move the mouse to when I see the screen change. I do love Vizio (I have two already for my TVs) but I didn't know how they'd be as a computer monitor.
  22. Well, I just purchased a Seiki SE42UM TV. It's a 42" 4k TV with HDMI 2.0. Unfortunately, the input lag is unbearable, some reviews saying upwards of 250 ms of lag. I guess I get what I paid for at $300 for this thing.
