Awesome site! I always find my self clicking SimHQ for sim related reviews, but there aren't many. Also I never liked going through the forums for your AARs. This is perfect to tie it all together, thank you!

All I can think about with these new maps are low and slow operations. Huey, Mi-8 & ka-50 are going to be getting a lot more play, at least in the beginning. I'll be doing pick-ups for rich executives initially I don't care ;) Also, does anyone know if the civilian airport in Dubai is going to be included?

I think I've watched that video about 10 times already. :shocking::notworthy::thumbsup:The map looks WWAAAYYYY better than I thought. You can even see lake mead out in the distance a couple times. living here in Las Vegas, this is something I'm looking forward to more than any modules!!!! The wait is destroying me mentally. But I'm all for bug squashing now, instead of 1+ years after it's released.

You must remember when viewing the helicopter from this angle, it looks like he's descending a lot faster. The DCS Mi-8 can do this maneuver, I doubt he's descending more than 300 ft/m.

You'll have people that agree with your pricing and some people that wont. Simple.

Not even new, but what if someone just wanted to add to NTTR? Maybe an airport (Henderson Exec.) or add a few more modern buildings to the strip in Las Vegas.. Look at all the people that make mods for the current map. Building textures, forest, grass, runways, trees, and fences to name a few. Unless, without the SDK a lot of that will still be possible by replacing textures... then I'm just an idiot and I'll stop talking. :music_whistling:

Yeah that does really stink. I can understand ED wants to keep a level of quality, but for free, community made mods, I don't see the point in limiting the map SDK to certain people. Oh well, their loss.

You purchased one for your sever? Maybe I'm mis-understanding you but you don't need a module to create/host a server with Ka-50 clients added. Anyway, I understand you not wanting to buy it again, I still wish ED would just give BS2 keys out to people that submit their BS1+BS2 upgrade keys.

Same; I think I got it for like $5 at some point. Worth it for sure.

I believe you can have your wingman attack from a specified direction. (From the north, from the south, etc) Also, having them in a holding pattern pretty far from the target area would help also.

The more I see DCS World 2, the more it makes me not want to fly in the current engine. DCS:W 2 IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL...

It's just a precaution. Doesn't mean these 3rd party devs are lacking in anyway, it's a lesson I've learned from STEAM early access as well. I'll wait for reviews/recommendations from now on. I absolutely do hope to have EVERY plane at some point in my collection. :thumbup:

Honestly, I probably would buy both but, I have zero faith so far in 3rd parties besides BST. I've seen enough drama happen with proposed aircraft in DCS to stay far away until things are out of BETA, and released (fully functional and bug free.)

The bar has been set very high by BST and ED, so for me personally, I probably would feel the difference in a SFM immediately. I do with certain FC3 aircraft that haven't been upgraded and choose not to fly them because of it. I know for me then, there is zero point in purchasing a new module without some form of an advanced flight model. I'm sure there will be people that want/enjoy an aircraft with a SFM, and I guess that's who AvioDev/VEAO is targeting for the BETA release.

I tried out the lighting in the Mi-8 a few days ago, and the lighting works! I tried both dome lights, (right and left) and the white and red light options. They work now =) The red seems a little saturated but, I don't really care, I can see the cockpit at night.

Personally, I think it's for very limited situations via multiplayer. It feels like an un-finished, un-polished RTS game. I tried to use it in single player, and it was more frustrating than anything. Also, the current terrain really makes you NOT want to be at ground level. I'd hold off and see if ED ever actually takes this anywhere.

The 3D modelers/texture artists at ED are incredible. The amount of details they put into things like weapon racks is astonishing. Awesome awesome stuff.

No, I just think that since everything from facebook is posted on the forums minutes after it's released "exclusively" on facebook, that it'll be the same for this app. Basically, no news/pictures/videos/updates will go unheard on these forums. And if it does, it probably wasn't that important.

Everyone needs to relax a little bit. You don't have to do anything. If you're that obsessed with hearing about things the millisecond they're announced then yes, you need those things. OR, you can continue to just read the forums every day like we do anyway, and you'll hear about whatever news here... like always. :music_whistling:

The newsletter is probably going to be about the BF 109. As for EDGE, I hate to say I was hopeful, but EDs track record cannot be ignored. Their estimates haven't been the most accurate. I'm guessing March 2015. Which is fine though, it only gets us closer to Oculus Rift CV1 November 2015 release ;)

Completely under powered. Wait.. it's plenty.. I think you'd get 22 fps average. lol how are we supposed to know what will work well for EDGE when nobody has it yet? The testers are staying pretty tight lipped also so who exactly are you asking? :music_whistling:

So I've been playing Elite: Dangerous with the DK2 and Voice Attack the last few weeks. All I have to say is, I have no concerns about needing the keyboard anymore for DCS: World. Really can't wait for EDGE and proper DK2 support. P.S. If you haven't tried Elite and you own a DK2... do yourself a favor and try it.
