  1. LOLWUT @ 00:16!? Haha Nice vid. I love FC2's new g simulation. The other day I was dogfighting a mig29, and I was juuusst barely hanging on to light, and then boom i blacked out outta nowhere. seems a little more realistic, because I feel like real G-LOC can take you down suddenly like that.
  2. Okay...don't flame me for this...but I wouldn't go for Saitek. I've currently ran through their X52/Pro series, and they haven't been that great so far - (or maybe I've just been really unlucky?) I went through 4 X-52s on warranty. I upgraded to the X-52Pro thinking it'd be better, but it's the same darn thing with a fancy black matte finish and new LEDs. They've been RIGGED with potentiometer problems and electronic issues that you end up by needing to fix yourself due to lack of any existing customer service besides a community forum. See my post here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55296 Thrustmaster is also releasing an A-10 stick soon, but Thrustmaster is crazy expensive. Their Cougar HOTAS is still over $200 usually, and doesn't even include rudder pedals/twist stick/decent programming. At the moment, you can get a Logitech G940 for a VERY reasonable price, and is currently one of the best/latest sticks on the market. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104327 $261 for a stick, split throttle, and rudder pedals. That's almost a steal when you compare a nearly 3.5 year old X-52 Pro + Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals for $235 USD.
  3. I mean it'd only make sense, right? BS had dev notes 7 months before release. Why would Warthog be any different - unless the dev notes were 7 months late?
  4. What's that? Keep the fire EAST of the smoke? Haha he really didn't wanna get lit up. Anyway, if my research is correct - The first producer's note for Blackshark came out on May 22nd, 2008. The English download version was released on Dec 10th, 2008. So roughly 7 months minus a few weeks. Since the first A-10C producer's note JUST came out, add 7 months. January 12th-13th of 2011 maybe? So unless ED is being completely irregular and purposely releasing media slower than usual, I wouldn't get your guys' hopes up for something being released "soon".
  5. Okay I see. Yeah I just practiced with some heaters, and those were way smokier.
  6. Hey Aces I'm practicing BVR in the F-15C because to be quite honest, I'm HORRIBLE at it. I miss the Top Gun training section FC1 had. I learned a lot about firing, turning away, missile energy etc (even though I still get my arse whooped online). Ok so I guess I should get to the point - I'm doing head on BVR against a rotating series of aircraft (-29, -31, -27). I've always thought one of the greatest advantages of the AIM-120C, is that it includes a smokeless motor. However I can clearly see a smoke trail during my AMRAAM's burn! I'm NOT able to see a smoke trail on my adversaries LR missile - but I can see his jet's contrail. Am I mistaking here? Does the 120C not have a smokeless motor? P.S. Any tips from you guys on how to win a bvr fight would be awesome. I've only beaten this AI guy once, and every other time he still shreds off a control surface even if I do get him in return.
  7. Well in the advanced flight models of the 25 and 25T this is possible. It's also possible to land on roadways/streets/bridges in everything else. To be honest though, the likelyhood of you surviving a "tundra" landing in an F-15 seems extremely slim. I do however find that frustrating as well. If you check the screenshot thread, I posted some screenies that almost describe what you're talking about. I tried to bring an A-10 in without gear - I lightly skidded it onto the runway, and BOOM. I really wish ED would have taken the time to put some advanced flight modeling into every aircraft, so it'd use physics a little more than crash detection, but eh. Try to look for roadways when you need to ditch. Just watch out if you have civilian traffic turned on!
  8. Wow I just picked this up. Good reading so far. But IMO F4 has better dogfight AI logic than LO. F4 is wayyyy harder it seems.
  9. I can't believe how freakn' awesome this is looking. Build two? One for free, please? :music_whistling:
  10. Ok this is pretty frustrating. I'm doing the F-15C default campaign, and I'm a couple missions in. It's the one where you have to conduct a training CAP. I've flown the CAP steerpoints at the precisely mapped altitudes, and hit them at the exact minute for each steerpoint. Every time I fly this mission, I get "Mission failed...you failed to maintain your CAP" after reaching my last steerpoint and flying home. I've even tried turning on the autopilot and I still get the failure message. What's up with this?
  11. I was wondering too. It'd be nice to get a clear answer.:helpsmilie:
  12. Aaaahhhh I can't wait for DCS A-10! *Cough* Multirole BLUE coalition jet after that maybe? Or AH64!? I really need my afterburning thrust...
  13. LOL +1
  14. Back before FC2, I had LO Gold too. I noticed if you held down the control button while the sim was launching, it'd pop up an activation code box from SF. This was a problem when I'd be on TeamSpeak, because my PTT button was control. So just to say...if you're launching the sim, don't press anything on your keyboard until the main screen is up.
  15. Oh what I'd give to be able to get myself a centerstick setup hehe. Those are some sick looking seats. You should put some harnesses on there! Just for fun! Lol
  16. Well...I was testing some stuff out in the A-10A, when both of my wings were shot off. This was the quickstart mission, which I'm pretty sure restores you back to all easy settings, but I still thought this was funny. :D SOMEHOW, managed to get it back to the field using differential power steering. At least I still had my elevator! Looks like it'll need to be a flat approach...no gear, flaps, airbrake...heads down landing. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
  17. Maybe we'll get real turbofan spinning!? :smartass:
  18. I can confirm this works in the latest version of Modman
  19. This is looking simply amazing....Looking forward to seeing it released!
  20. Hey guys, a few weeks ago I put together a video showing people how to fix the common X-52/Pro potentiometer problem that frustrates a lot of people. I don't know if any of you are interested in it, but just in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZGEmbJ7JuI
  21. No flying . Just a bunch of titles and captions. + Way too much editing. Like a little girl getting into mom's makeup bin. Sorry, but it didn't grab my fancy. :music_whistling:
  22. Hey ED, I just signed up here at the forums, and I sadly can't edit my avatar/sig :(. I did a quick search, and the only result I could whip up, was that it's a forum bug. Is that what's going on? Thanks! :smilewink:
