  1. And for anyone interested, here's some super high res. pics: http://nycaviation.com/forum/mcchord-air-expo-2010-p147159.html
  2. I'm having issues downloading this...Every time it starts from MU, it either stops halfway through, or tells me the source can't be read anymore. Any chance of another mirror?

Be careful installing this....it majorly F-ed my FC2 install up. Getting lua errors left and right now. Installed this on a vanilla FC2.
  4. Hey here's a question...when will it be released!?!?!?!@?!le,1; I'm getting so impatient that it's starting to actually feel painful. And no, that's not just the sunburn on my face. I'd hate to have to ran sack Matt's house just to pull the beta off his HDD. I mean...what?:music_whistling:

Cool! Long live the Rhino :drunk:
  6. You're welcome!
  7. Thought I'd share a couple videos of the JBLM Airshow that we had today. Great show, but I left the sunblock in my car. :( Lineup: • Opening - Airfield Assault (C-17s, UH-1, A-10, AH-1S Cobra) • Tim Weber Preview • Patriot Jets Team Solo • Jacquie B. • T-33 "Ace Maker" • Smoke-n-Thunder Jet Car • F-16 Demo • B-2 Flyover (Saturday only) • P-51 Tuskegee Airmen • F-18 Demo • Legacy Flight (F-18, F-14, F-8F) • F-8F Bear Cat Demo • Smoke-n-Thunder Jet vs Tim Weber • Tim Weber • A-10 Demo • Air Force Heritage Flight (A-10, F-86, F-4, F-16) • F-86 Snort • MiG Fury • C-17 Tactical Demonstration • Patriots Jet Team Featuring....miles and miles of traffic all over the place! With some of the worst road rage I've ever witnessed. Now excuse me while I go soak my face in aloe. :matrix:
  8. Sorry if it's already been answered , but will the wing vortices be improved?
  9. Every time I see that Mig29 ejection video of when he loses his engine, I'm amazed. One of the luckiest bailouts in history  @mvsgas Here's an ACES II ejection out of level flight:
  10. Again, I'm not saying the FC2 ejection needs to be improved, nor am I complaining about it not being perfect. I've said it before, and I'll say it 2 more times: Since I highly doubt very many people have seen DCS A-10's ejection sequence yet, how is anyone certain it will be modeled in some new high fidelity sequence? I'm not so sure myself, that's why I'm encouraging a revamp based on what I've seen in the last 4 releases. I wasn't paying attention to my VS so I'm not sure. I was using the minimum ejection altitude vs dive angle & speed parameters.
  11. Indeed, I did not survive my ejection attempts after trying to follow Bwaze's chart. The limitation I followed was: 500 ft AGL, 30 deg. nose down, 350 knots. I was slightly under these limitations - 580 feet AGL, around 27 deg? nose down, and 329 knots. I did not survive this ejection.
  12. @Bwaze Yes exactly! I'd appreciate it if we see something different in A-10C.
  13. It's not about Black Shark either. It's about DCS A-10C. Check the forum section we're in. :P I didn't say FC2 was as advanced as DCS, nor did I ask for FC2 ejection seat improvements! The point I made was that I'd like to see DCS A-10 include a new ejection sequence, compared to what we've seen in LOMAC, FC, FC2, and DCS's fixed wing AI. Yes...sadly this life saving technology isn't available for ACES II :(. The FC2 video is NOT mine, I agree it's not an ideal comparison, but would you agree if you went into FC2 and got in an ACES seat, you would be unable to replicate that first video of the T-Birds crash?
  14. This is awesome. I never knew that was a false canopy painting on the underside before. It could totally fool me! PS: While we're on the subject of A-10 sightings: My first was at an airshow. This aircraft is something you have to see fly with your own eyes to fully respect. The way she was able to do a simulated gun run, and pull out of it without losing any airframe energy, totally climbing up and away with chaff flare was really something to see. It looks like a cross between a 'cobra' and a thrust vector, the way it can go from nose down - >1000ft agl, to an intense roar of wind meeting wing camber as it changes attitude and direction. Truly an aircraft meant to use that cannon for a2g!!!
  15. I'm actually glad somebody brought this up. I too think the ejection sequence could be much better in terms of ejection seat thrust. Of course ED has done a great job with Black Shark, but in every fixed wing aircraft, it seems ejection altitude and vertical speed needs to be so safe, that there is almost no need for ejection. Take a look here: Ok, now attempt this in Flaming Cliffs 2. Even if you ejected at 3 times that height with the same VS, your ejection seat would drive painfully into the ground. Take my opinions with a grain of salt please, I'm just going off of visuals. Here's a few more ejection sequences that I'd consider impossible in the FC/FC2 world. Notice the direction they're ejected in. Up, and away. Not perpendicular to the aircraft. Again, the amazing thrust of the ejection seat saves the pilot here. Here's a clip of Flaming Cliffs 2 ejection. You can't help but notice a perpendicular ejection, with little to no 'up and away' movement. With an understanding of software limitations, I'd like to see maybe a more intelligent ejection sequence in A-10C if possible, please :pilotfly:
  16. Does anyone have a picture or chart maybe that shows a common object (car...tree..plane...) at various distances like 5nm - 10nm that can be used as references? I'm trying to guesstimate distances of flying objects on a tape, but I have a terrible eye for distance guessing.
  17. Wow! I can't WAIT for this release! I'm going to seriously spend so many hours on this sim. I have 2 questions though: Will DCS A-10C be multiplayer compatible with FC2/Blackshark? If so...whats up with the terrain? For the engine cutoff on the throttle, can this be programmed to any joystick with a detent in it?
  18. Maybe I'm wrong here...but minus a few mods (enb bloom, cockpit mods)...that's exactly what my game looks like when I fly.
  19. I think DirectX has been upgraded to 9.0c too...so all shadow problems have been fixed in the graphics engine. :)
  20. Oh those poor people hehe. :pilotfly:
  21. Right, so you have a common electronics issue in your throttle rotary, and a common potentiometer issue in the stick itself. This is exactly what I described in my post: Electronic issues, and pot. problems. Not everyone is okay with having these issues though, and not everyone has some G25 pedals standing by. Why would you advise using a TM stick which highly overpriced, when the OP asked for something that wouldn't cost much? Where's the FFB on the TM? ;) Also, I haven't seen anything regarding the G940 being built improperly. I still believe the G940 would be a better, All In One solution for the flight simmer. Stick, throttle, buttons that work great for programing every FC/DCS aircraft, and rudder pedals, all for under $270. Sure you could pay probably over $450 for a stick and throttle from TM, and then probably nearly another $100 for pedals (or use some ones in storage if you're like MTFDarkEagle), but that wouldn't exactly be a 'fair priced' starter desktop sim.
  22. Not sure about a full on review, but you can find out a lot of info just by checking out the main site: http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1671&scr=default
  23. I can't help but notice the OP hasn't gotten an official answer from ED. Anyway, here's what I dug up: Published by the United States Navy as a Training Plan for the AGM-65E in 1998. The AGM-65E Laser Maverick Missile is currently in the Operational Support Phase of the Weapon System Acquisition Process. Before LOMAC was released in 2003 ;). AGM-65E, designed by the US Navy. The AGM-65E Laser Maverick Missile is designed primarily for use against armor and hardened ground targets requiring instantaneous or delayed blast fuzing during day or night operations and in adverse weather conditions, with sufficient standoff range to permit limited exposures to terminal defenses. Here's an section taken out of A-10C The Battle Simulator: The second phase of the A-10C DTS will provide support for the Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), GPS-guided weapons, new communications systems, and AGM-65E laser-guided Maverick among other features. The A-10C DTS provides low-cost, portable simulation training for pilots transitioning to the A-10C and maintaining pilot proficiency.
  24. Nice, didn't realize this worked in FC2 :)
