  1. This is kind of nit-picking....and the problem might be because I have the Gy's F15, but I just now noticed this: The F15's air intake ramps don't move like they should. On engine startup, the intake ramps should slam in the down position, and they should change automatically depending on the aircraft's speed and AoA.....I have yet to witness this in FC2.....(and the sounds of the startup sequence are pathetic)
  2. I'm curious about this LShift+L thing. Is it only for the Su-25? When I press this combination in the A10 and F15 nothing happens.
  3. I got the Sukhoi crash in Ukraine confused with the mid-air collision at Radom. :P I don't see how an objective observation is "trolling"....
  4. The stick has always been centered on computer startup so that's not the issue. I just changed the dead zones....but Now I have to kick full rudder just to do anything.
  5. Didn't a Sukhoi crash at Radom a number of years back? I hate to say it, but it seems like most airshow crashes in Europe involve Russian-built aircraft.
  6. Technically, no. However the Ground Self-Defense Forces spent a number of years in Samawa, Iraq doing humanitarian work. They were armed, but they were escorted by Australian (and Dutch? Danish? The people from Holland....) forces, since the Japanese constitution forbids engaging any enemy unless on Japanese soil.
  7. My wingman used to be useful when I order him to "go mission and rejoin". Up until now.....after I installed Gys A10/F15/Su27 model package he's gone whacko. First mission I tried, I ordered him to attack, and instead he flew back to base. The second time, he got shot up and returned to base, but he never stopped after he landed....he kept rolling (with the nose gear pointed in the air) off the runway, and then exploded.... This game seems half-assed. Though I enjoy it because it's the only decent combat sim around.
  8. I'm always having problems with the F15 campaign--I'll start a mission, then life interrupts and I have to quit, which makes my success rate drop >:(

  10. I'm really not sure about the way the campaign works. I know I went through them to change the weather (I hate winter) and the aircraft skins (the "Flipper" skin is ugly as hell, and "AFRES" disbanded in the early '90s, so having that pasted on the engine is just stupid). I know that in the A10 campaign, as long as you destroy your designated targets, even if you get shot down afterward you can still continue to the next mission. The F15 campaign on the other hand, requires that you RTB in order to get 100% complete.
  11. I admit that I played with invincibility on, but I don't recall ever being hit by anything in that mission. I usually try to locate and destroy all AAA batteries with my Mavericks first.
  12. ....the way I fly it's a mix.....when you decrease throttle to slow to landing speed, you have to raise the nose a bit to keep the plane airborne, but it can't be too high because then you won't be on glideslope. Unless I'm mistaken, the only time you solely rely on throttle to change altitude is when you're landing on a carrier. Watch some YouTube videos and you'll hear the engine on Navy jets constantly change power. Air Force tends to keep the engines at a steady pace until just over the runway.

  14. I've only managed to win one-on-one dogfights when the opponent doesn't have a wingman :P The DACT practice missions are really nice, except the enemy AI seems to carry 12 IR missiles in the "heaters" missions. If it's guns only I can hold my own.
  15. Well, considering that in FC2, every engagement in the campaign is head-to-head, and my AI wingmen suck at dodging missiles, it always turns into a dogfight.
  16. That's impossible when you're either a) trying not to get hit by a BVR missile or b) in a turning dogfight....it seems that in FC2, the AI have a magic ability to turn tighter than they should, while maintaining speed.
  17. I still haven't quite figured out how to maintain kinetic energy in FC2....it seems to vanish even with afterburners engaged.....whereas the AI are able to do all sorts of crazy stuff.
  18. I tried it once....and somehow the Su27 that was behind me defied the laws of aerodynamics and managed to fly vertically at 50kts without stalling.

  20. So the A10 in the Gys package I have isn't actually made by Gys? 0_o
  21. Hmm....I got the Gys/Valery F15/A10/Su27 package and installed it with modman.....If I uninstall that package to add just the F15 then I won't have the others....and I can't seem to find standalone downloads for the A10 or Su27...
  22. I've got a weird problem with the skins....I installed both the Nyutabaru and the blue aggressor scheme with modman, but when I go in the ME to change paint schemes, my only option is the 303rd SQ 50th anniversary scheme--which I didn't download 0_o
  23. I recall on one particular mission (Naval Games), I'm required to cruise at 6,000 at 450kts. In order for me to maintain 450kts, I have to maintain 100% power....doesn't make any sense to me. A 737 can cruise at only 70% power.....
  24. Apparently not in my FC2... That may be true at 30,000ft, but not at 15,000.
  25. ...I thought the lock key by default was Tab, not Enter..... I use a joystick :P
