Shame the guy that did the video didn't edit his glaring mistakes.

After trying every other fix out there since October(it's now half way through January) this fix worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others too.

I have 4 threads which it was set at, but I turned it to 2 and that worked, thanks a lot.

As soon as I turn on the terrain following radar the FPS goes from around 60 to around 15, it does this in OB and in full release version. It instantly improves as soon as I turn it off again. Thanks for the help, but this never worked for me. It's unreal how many things I have tried, I've gone back to 2.8 for now. Not for me, it is not as bad though, but still unplayable. Cheers.

Is this straight forward, i.e. just install folders in a different location when asked?

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Single thread exe / MSAA X4. Pretty much every setting on max.

I know it's crazy, especially with that beast of a system you have. I have tried everything suggested and nothing has worked. I'm sure ED are working hard to fix it. It would be nice to get a quick update from them on what's going on.

If it's not a 2.9 issue then why did ED issue a fix?

I just did a test on single thread and it has micro stutters at 30-60 fps compared to MT which has massive stutters and freezes at 5-60 locked at 60fps and 5-120 fps unlocked. But weirdly turning off MSAA on ST makes things much MUCH worse giving me big freezes at 5-10fps. 2.9 makes no sense. I hope ED are working on this.

Mate there are so many people with this exact problem, they mostly talk on Reddit. I personally have done everything suggested including a fresh install with no mods and nothing works. It's 2.9 that is the problem, their recent "fix" for these 2.9 problems made it even worse.

Mine is already off, shame. Every time I think I've "fixed it" it comes back. Let us know how it goes.

Well, I thought I had it fixed, did a 100% clean install, limited the FPS in Nvidia CP and the stuttering was almost totally gone. Made a couple of AI missions with a few planes tanks etc and all seemed ok with the odd stutter here and there but playable, at least that's what I thought. As soon as I switch the same missions to a client controlled aircraft the lag and freezing was back, and then even in the AI missions, WTH? P.S. I forgot to mention when I first started the game all settings were on low and the game played like crap, only after I turned the settings to max did it improve. Well, for a short while anyway. I officially give up.

Thanks for the tip unfortunately it did not fix the freezes. Weirdly turned all shadows off as many have suggested made things much worse lol. dcs.log

I think I will have to try this, but as far as my specs go, before 2.9, DCS played very well, especially since multi threading, but even before then. 2.9 has broken my game, as it worked very well (for my specs) before. Thanks.

My CPU does not support HT.
