Nice work Mainstay, looking forward to trying that livery out. I've almost finished work on my Red Arrows livery too.

I've uploaded my first skin to the DCS user files section earlier yesterday but it's still not been approved. I reuploaded it today, hopefully it will be approved. I have noticed that other files have been approved after I uploaded mine. Not sure why that is. If it's not going to be approved it would be good to know the reason why. Update on my Red Arrows skin is that I'm almost finished just doing some finishing touches and having trouble with the nose section and trying to make it as accurate as possible to the real thing. I've uploaded some picture to a imgur album to relieve the image load of the thread. http://imgur.com/a/xxj1m

Ah right, Thanks that explains why.

I've finished my L-39 Royal Air Force - XX218 - 208Sqn skin and I'm just waiting on it being uploaded to the user files section. I've also started work on a Red Arrows skin. I've had to modify some parts of the skin. Here is a sneak peek: I've also found a bug with the skin and I'm not sure why it's occuring if anyone can help I'd be appreciated. I've noticed a green rectangle of texture which seems to be missing even though I've textured it within the DDS file, here is a image of the issue, any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm pretty much finished with my skin, Just need to do more tweaking/polishing. Here's the almost finished version.

Sweet thanks for the help George, you're a life saver. Almost finished with my RAF skin. Just doing some tweaking.
-
Ah, right thank you. Just another question. How do you find the names for the helmet and fuel tanks? So I don't need to keep asking for other materials/parts of the skins.
-
Does anyone have the description.lua lines for the l-39 helmet? Also I've setup my fuel tanks and pilot but they are staying as the default in-game.
-
Nice work mate, any chance you can tell me how you textured the pilot? Been wondering that myself. I can't seem to find those files.
-
@GeorgeLKMT: Ah okay, Do you know why the fuel tanks are not using the texture I've created?
-
Does anyone know how to change the fuel tanks and pilot so that it applies? Currently my pilot and fuel tanks look like this. Pilot Fuel Tanks My folder structure looks like this,

I've been working on a XX218 208Sqn skin based off the BAE Hawk. I'm currently still working on it and trying to get the pilot skin to look the the RAF pilot suit. Anyway, Here is my work so far

Any chance you can release your template or at least your file you edited? Thanks.
-
I'm in the same boat. It used to work but now it doesn't seem to work until you select desktop capture. It's as if the game is stuck in windowed fullscreen as Shadowplay doesn't record with windowed fullscreen.

Great videos as always John. Keep up the great work!

Once the L-39 template is out I'm thinking of doing the black livery like the BAE Hawk.

Same issue for me My rig is in my signature. I'm hoping it gets tested/edited so it gets less performance heavy. It's still VERY early days to judge anything at the moment. Although it does look fantastic, I've turned it off for the moment.

Very nice gesture mate, I was going to reply but seems I'm too late. I'm 100% sure you've made peoples days/months for doing this. I love this community.
-
It has already been answered before. If I recall, Wags answered that question on one of the Q&A streams. He said at the present moment there were no plans for changing settings/controls within multiplayer.
-
Thank you ED, Sith and Matt for putting up with us. Looking forward to playing 1.5
-
Indeed, thanks for the statement Wags.

Thanks for putting up with us when we're frustrated and impatient :music_whistling:, you're a great community manager SiTh!

I don't see how this isn't possible, but it would take a lot of work if it's going to be a separate module (I'm pretty sure it is though). it would also mean many new features would have to be added like the ability to have aircraft being reversed into bays so for that you'd need ground crew etc.

I do agree with this. I don't see how having hundreds or even thousands of free testers trying out the open beta builds would be a bad thing. From seeing how many other development studios do alphas/betas, they actually release buggy or unfinished content and let users test it and willing testers will report back with a bug report. I am willing to do this and I'm sure there are many of us out there that are. I do however see why they are putting the 1.5 release out on the open beta branch, as they want to release the software at a relatively stable state but also not release it fully as they are still working on it so it's a sort of tricky situation. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I think you might be right. However they did say that if they had more news than usual they'd stray from the biweekly schedule. So it could be good news. I really hope it's good news as I'm beginning to get tired with the engine upgrade always being delayed. I know ED are working extremely hard on the engine update and I honestly appreciate their dedication and hard work but It's starting to get hard to be excited when you know it's just going to get delayed again. I want to trust you ED when you announce a date for EDGE but you never deliver on it, so I'm just going to have to be the pessimist again and think it's coming sometime this year. Please let me be wrong ED for once! Also, I think that this thread should have been created within the chit chat section of the forum. Hopefully it doesn't get closed and only moved.
