That's a very good point for us offliners. I wouldn't have been able to fly Falcon for 20 years had it not had that campaign. It's a (still) buggy campaign but boy do you feel an immersion. This has been beaten to death though...... Back to the Hog!
-
And just to give you an idea, I'm using racing wheel pedals for my Hog's pedals! That's how bad it is here in Canada. :smilewink:

Totally disagree. If you are tight budgeted then save. If you can afford it but aren't sure if it's worth $300 or less, think of how many options and choices there are for a high-fid sim out there (other than a10c). None. Think of the hours of enjoyment the avg simmer will get with this product,...etc. I thought the price was easily fair but I appreciate your opinion too:).

100% agree. Win/win for everyone.

Boy am I enjoying this. I know I've found what I was looking for in a sim when I read a page of the manual and actually got excited that I had no idea what they were talking about. Got some reading to do.....:book:

Very nice job ED. Just took my first trip in the new hog! Despite my wife yelling at me to put the kids to bed and forcing me to not land, what a great 1st flight. Many thanks to you Wags and your team.

Thanks guys for the help.:)

Great vid! Thanks. Off topic but I have been meaning to ask, I noticed he landed with air brakes open. I see this often and was curious what the sop is for this. Is the Hog to always land with them open? Why not get desired speed and descent, flaps full, using the brakes as needed? Does the brake add lift, or is it not possible to hold speed in descent? Sorry if this is dumb question, never understood this.

Shame. Us "offliners" are clearly a dwindling community. The ability to fly on someone's wing is an essential function and requirement of a combat flight sim and of a combat fighter pilot. It appears that offline content is falling to the low priority pile. Surely I'm not alone on this.

Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked but it's a tough one to search... Will we be able to fly #2 (or 3,4...) in a flight in the offline campaign? I saw in GA's promo the cockpit view flying formation and was wondering if that was offline footage? Thanks
-
Oh just release the darn thing already!! Lol, great job guys. Very impressive.

Not buying the sim now. Seriously though, that would be neat feature to model, too bad. Just curious as to what your story (employment) is Scabbers?
-
While I do respect your interests, you'll probably find this community for the most part doesn't share your view. For me it comes down to; 1. realistic flight model 2. realistic flight model 3. realistic cockpit/avionics/weapons modes...etc 4. because I can't fly online, a somewhat dynamic campaign would be nice. Fully dynamic would be ideal of course. 5. terrain scenery/graphics I would buy any flight combat sim if it had the first three, #4 just determines it's shelf life with me. That's why F4 made it a dozen years with me, it's DC. Just my thoughts. I'm sure there is a large number of people who prefer online therefore the DC may not be as important. It would be interesting to see what % fly online/offline. To Nats, have you tried Hawx or Birds of Prey? I haven't but I think they are more gamey?
-
Fair enough, all I was saying is that the only campaigns that have any "dynamic" flavour that I've stumbled across over the years (and I believe I've flown every sim produced), were EECH, Rowen's Battle of Britain, and Falcon4. They are all different in their own right, you could argue that Falcon is the only true dynamic campaign. The other two sure felt dynamic.
-
These guys understand the desire for a dynamic campaign. Falcon, BOB, and Enemy Engaged are the only three that I can think of. There's a reason why the other 100 (guess?) combat flight sims didn't have one. A dynamic campaign is its own beast altogether and I doubt that developing one doesn't coincide with ED's commercial development interests. I hope I've angered them for making assumptions while having no knowledge of them and that they create a dynamic campaign just to make me look bad:D

My first too (you always remember your first:)) One of the best ever definately. The reason I finally left it. Good for it's time, it's time is up. After looking at it for a dozen years, I just can't bear it anymore. Still pretty good for dx7 though. Good, now I know that I can use the multiple quote button :noexpression:

Thanks, pretty dumb of me. I just ran the normal exe and it works. On that note, any recommendations for must have mods for FC2?
-
I've been playing with BS running mods through Modman 7.3 for a while now without any hiccups. Because it is driving me crazy waiting for DCS A10C I decided to purchase FC2 and have been toiling with the A10 to keep me busy. For some reason I can't get FC2 to run through Modman. It says I need a cd? I put the cd in (which is odd considering I don't need it to run the normal exe) and it ctds??? Does Lockon run on an older version of Modman than BS or what am I doing wrong?? Thanks.

I spent a lot of time with F19 as well, boy that's been a while! I remember the MFDs and how great that was at the time. Glad you brought that up, brings back memories.
