yeah but for one time we have something more than always US and Russian Plane, its the first French aircraft (its not cause i'm french that i like french aircraft but a little change was needed) Of course i wonder see the Apache or the Cobra for US or Russian aircraft more resent than the Mig21Bis, but aircraft like Mirage (F1/2000) Tornado, Harrier and other are welcome !

+1 But maybe the next DCS Aircraft (who will be a US Fighter maybe multirole) will coming too, and maybe if we are lucky we will get this aircraft at the same time (like two month after or before) the release of the Mig-21Bis, and anyways its actually the same thing between the A10C who have more advantages than the KA-50 Anyways the best solution its to disabled unit on the map, like in real and use the datalink map for see other A10C on the TAD map... And a radio option for ask to friendly to say their actual position compare to the Bulleyes (who must be always show in the map) will be more realistic and will force people to act like in real. But anyways i approve this idea too cause a lot of people use the F10 Map with unit on it.

Yeah !!! More and more screen glaces/ virtual reality helmet begin to appear, more the time pass, more the resolution become close to HD regular screen and more the price are low for the same quality, i'm sure the future of gaming and simulation (before another revolution who will coming in 10 year max) but also movie its this kind of virtual reality helmet !!! @Aries, the price its really expensive, when we have a huge price for this kind of helmet you have great chance to have a HOTAS like the Warthog or other advanced capable to make the keyboard useless, same thing for the mouse, i have the Logitech G700 and with HOTAS Warthog and i only need the keyboard for communication menu, every function for DCS its programmed into my 9 buttons, including recentering Track IR, and two thing can be done, change the files for make a clickable radio menu, and the other its to use a vocal command system who can completely replace the full keyboard, tou just have to know where is your joystick or our HOTAS and your mouse and the problem its gone, no more problems from the keyboard, you can even create a simplified simpit (rudder, mouse in a simple box at your right, throttle at a simple box at your left and a simple support for the joystick between your legs or at your right like the F-16. Simpit + vocal command its just perfect for this virtual reality helmet !

Aerofly FS and Outerra can do it, both show extreme dense tree area... Aerofly FS can show 2D tree and 3D tree too, both are really realistic. http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergals/2011/12/full-585-24696-aerofly_fs_2011_12_28_23_48_05_44.jpg I talk since long time of the fact that over medium range its IMPOSSIBLE to make any difference between 2D and 3D object and calculate 3D object its just an useless loose of power, and 3D tree in ANY simulator (FSX, X Plane, DCS and other) look bad at long range cause of pixelisation effect of the 3D object and with a simple texture we don't have this problem... If Aerofly FS can show more tree, DCS can do it too, its simple as that, the ONLY problem of Aerofly FS its that the creators avec forgot to create two level of texture, actually we see the medium in every screenshots/video but it count to many pixels for be using at long range, its one of the multiple optimization that i always talk about and that people told me its impossible (and its funny cause a lot of game and other 3D software to it...But its impossible, fail logic), and a close range with high resolution miss sadly in Aerofly FS.. The problems with sims like DCS or FSX its that the texture have a nice resolution for the ground level but the texture itself are completely don't adapted for this altitude, we see strange brown thins, suppose to be earth ? dust ? plants ? i have NEVER find what its supposed to be cause its look unrealistic, a BIG improvement of texture with integrated tree will be perfect, DCS will take less power and the visual effect will be finally better than what we get with 3D tree who are numberless and who look bad at long range where it must don't be calculate and just exchange with a texture who have the same tree directly integrated... Two solution : take satellite picture, but ED Team don't want it... The other solution its to create extremely high detailed 3D terrain with extreme texture and 3D detail and NOT in real time to convert the 3D scenery into several texture for : _Close/direct range where no 3D object are drawn on it except little details like little things/details on the ground, this close range are cover by 3D grass with earth under...Something like a 500m area max around the aircraft. At the end of the close/direct range : _Low range where every little details like grass, rock, scenery details are completely not calculated in 3D and replace by texture only, but tree and building still in 3D between close/direct range and 3Km. After the low range : _Medium range, details are study for have correct resolution over 3 or 2,85Km if possible, this area are completely out of tree, only 2D tree are visible (at 3Km and more we CAN'T turn so fast for see the tweak who using, mainly if it use a DYNAMIC texture and not a standard static who keep show the same thing when we turn around) but this tree are not integrated into the texture, its a 2D tree design for the illusion when we fly low and for relief over us, every 3D details will be completely replace by the texture at this distance, little construction like static vehicle, small house and other little object are in 2D with dynamic texture (a texture who change depending from which direction we look it). After Medium range : _High range, who begin just at the end of the Medium range texture, like 10 Km, this area its empty of EVERY 3D object, everything are ONLY in the texture EXCEPT giant things like antenna, building and other thing who are only a 2D dynamic, at this range its stupid to calculate 3D object, even a SR-71 blackbird can't fly so fast in a huge amount of G for see the difference between static and dynamic object, so 3D object are useless, 2D dynamic are the best. After High Range : _Infinite, its not really infinite, its begin at the edge of the end of the High Range, somewhere like 50 Km, its a low resolution texture but who still the SAME texture than High Range texture, only the resolution change, this texture are optimized for cover giant area without take big power cause of high resolution for a far texture, the resolution are study for still perfectly clear, if we delete other texture, this Infinite range texture at close range will look like the first MFS (Microsoft Flight Simulator) who have a texture but over the range where its supposed to be it look perfectly realistic and without any low pixel effect. All this level of texture will NOT create any visible transition (except from bug) cause it use a SINGLE basic texture, only object who are calculate in 2D/3D are not in the texture at the same range, same thing for the transition between 3D to 2D to texture only, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to see cause its use the SAME texture, the non real time render use the 3D object and the highly detailed scenery for generate different level of texture. And in fact we can make it capable to create automatic scenery, DCS use real world scenery, so, we can find a lot of correct map of road, elevation, area (who can give information like where is water, river, lac, meadows, pasture, city and a lot of other details who will, with a nice software, automatically generate a highly detailed terrain with real life data, and the time to create this software will be the same than the creation of the map, maybe generate map will take less time. Result ? Scenery perfectly adapted to simulation world cause it handle extreme high range, visually perfect (every game/software who prefer using texture rather than 3D object where its useless look a lot of time better and take a lot of time less power, only the HDD size have an impact, and two pack, one for standard resolution and another with extreme resolution for big computer and big HDD size can be created), "easy" to create map who are really close the real world, FAST to create a map, a lot of scenery and maybe the full earth can be done with extreme visual realism, texture who REALLY look like something who exist and not with completely false color and a lot of power saving... Its like the highly detailed ground vehicle, its nice, but its useless to show highly detailed vehicle when we fly 15000 feets over them, it just take more power than needed, any flight SIMULATOR must be optimized for COCKPIT view first and after maybe optimize it for external view, cause a simulator must act like real life and in the real live we can't throw our eyes outside the aircraft and keep it back... Anyways i have write this long thing for nothing cause never until quantic computer coming we will have nice scenery with realistic color and correct resolution/power consummation... I confirm the bug was produced by Edge Detect cause without EDAA in MSAA 8 this problem don't come. @Wolf Rider : No, DCS don't use Tessellation, some people think that the new terrain engine (EDGE who will come with the Nevada map) will use this technology, but i don't think so, 3D model of aircraft/vehicle (except some who are not yet update) don't need any upgrade, and i don't really see what Tessellation can give to a simple terrain with low/medium 3D details from simple 3D object (don't forget that in simulation house = box + texture). Tessellation add more polygons And actually every simulator lag with low number of polygons (compare to what a video card can handle) its the same for every simulator : FSX, X-Plane and any other aircraft simulator. With actual aircraft simulator logical/graphic engine design Tessellation will don't really give a big difference between with and without but the FPS drop will be huge, the first thing that every flight simulation need to improve (except Aerofly FS who are a perfect texture for regular flight, even if a second level of texture for close range will be a nice improvement) its the texture who have always a problem, like FSX who show the high resolution texture directly above the aircraft (a stupid optimization cause its exactly the only place where we CAN'T see the ground except for high angle turn or low flight) and texture who look really bad from long range, and main problem : color who are false and non-realistic in every simulator, except Aerofly FS and FSX with payware, another problem, aircraft simulator keep calculating shadow from the sun of the scenery to itself, its useless to make a real time calculation cause sun take always the SAME trajectory, a little deviation between Summer and Winter, but its completely useless to calculate sun shadow when we can precalculate it and just apply difference from atmospherically condition like weather... Anyways every aircraft sim have too many thing to correct/change before think about Tessellation technology, i hope every aircraft sim, including DCS, will NOT handle Tessellation before be completely optimized, cause if we forgot the huge amount of FPS drop, we will see a giant list of new bug. If you want to see what is the Tessellation in action look this : Anyways problem solved we know the origin of the bug, ED Team now have to work to this problem for improve the simulation stability and prevent bug from people who will use Edge Detect + MSAA8

I use the 12.6beta (stable on every games, i will wait until 12.8 for update) My settings are : Anti-Aliasing : Use Application Settings Morphological : disabled Filter : Edge Detect Anisotropic Filtering : Use application settings Tessellation : AMD optimized Catalyst A.I : Texture Filtering Quality : High Quality Enabled Surface Format Optimization : Enabled Wait for vertical refresh : Off, unless application specifies Anti-Aliasing Mode : Multi-Sample AA OpenGL Settings : TB : Enabled Anyways this problem don't affect my gameplay cause i use MSAA 4, its more a bug report for improve stability and prevent this bug to anyone else.

The first time i have test the P51D i have use the last version with the wrong DCS World version and everytime the engine just don't start and shut down when i begin in flight. Be sure you use the same version between DCS P51D Mustang module and DCS World itself, DCS World 1.2.0 are the lastest. But like Joey45 say, give us more details about it.

I have find a strange bug. DCS World 1.2.0 When the MSAA its set to 8 (and 8 only) i can see the polygons of the 3D object, i have try tro change every other options including full screen, aero and other, but this bug appear only at MSAA 8 Some Screenshoots

What you mean exactly by transonic stall ? You mean transonic airflow on wings or push the aircraft at the edge of the transonic speed at the VNE at Mach 0.80 ? And no, actually the aircraft don't affect the air, Falcon BMS 4.32 do, its actually the single military simulator i know who simulate it, only glider sim simulate this effect and its sad cause its important during refueling or formation flight or even dogfight too cause it can cause loose of control during close dogfight. But i think vortex effect in our own plane are simulate cause the AFM are really nice and when we stall its greatly reproduce. Just need to simulate turbulence area between aircraft, jet wash and wingtip vortex.

Hi everyone. I have a question or if the answer is "no" a wish list. With the next DCS fighter (who have great chance to be a supersonic aircraft) and the Third Party Projects like the Mig21Bis the F-15E the Eurofighter Typhoon and the F/A-18E we will have a lot of supersonic aircraft. Supersonic flight add several new things like Inertia coupling (the Bell X1 encounter this phenomena and this aircraft flight slower than all aircraft i have quote) and when we cross Transonic speed area somewhere between Mach 0.8 to Mach 1.2 the aircraft loose a lot of acceleration and become unstable like if we open a chute (the pilot feel like if we break in a car) cause of huge drag increase and feel a re-acceleration at supersonic speed, for aircraft who can flight really fast the thermal barrier and the heat by friction its another problems... And another problem with the F-15 who flight really fast, the friction will increase the thermal signature, the wingtips vortex are also really important, mainly in supersonic flight, its cause of this phenomena that the beautiful XB-70 Valkyrie was lost (an high speed escort aircraft, a modified F-105 was sucked by the vortex and crash by collision with the Valkyrie) and more important than the visual supersonic vapor cone the fact that the shockwave of a supersonic aircraft during a turn (called superbang sonic in french) can kill a people (it can damage another aircraft or kill soldier if the range was close) its rare but when it happen the effect was more important than a low power weapon. And the fact that a lot of weapon under the wing can't support supersonic flight or/and high G, and maybe the structural damage (but not rupture). Points : Inertia coupling Transonic effect Supersonic effect Heat effect Shockwave, vortex and turbulence effect from player to player/bot to player and if possible from player to bot and from bot to bot. Structural and payload damage/constraints. Weapon use at supersonic speed simulated. Low chance to survive at supersonic ejection. All this points are important. How many are already simulated into DCS World and which of this point are planed to be simulated ? And anyways my wishlist is to have all this point simulated for the first supersonic aircraft plz !

Drop a Stryker more than 16 tonns At the beggin of this video a "light" tank was drop In this video other "light" tank was drop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORp9eJEoMpQ And important thing for strategic action who are not represented in any simulator, the possibility for cargo like the C-130 to land in the desert, in a beach or any other wild runway who can give possibility to unload big number of soldier, equipement and vehicule, in fact its the only reason why the C-130 have a propeller and not a jet engine, cause land in the sand damage the jet engine and can suck a lot of object on the ground like rock and other things... Paradrop its a small part of the problem... Its exactly what i talk about when i said that a lot of USEFULL things was always delete in simulation world (simulation of everything, car, boat, combat like Arma or aircraft) cause its conciderate like useless and a lot of things if it don't was simulate one by one its not a problem, but if we add every deleted things at the end its was a big problem of fidelity and realism... I hope one day all this deleted things from real world will be simulate...

Nice i wonder see that but the last time i have ask some people answer me that we can use trigger for make appear force on the ground, i thing we will wait LOOONG time before see tank and soldier droped from a C-130, but i hope you will be listen.

I wonder that any Third Party can create the beautiful U-2, one was using for the Red Flags, with the Nevada map it will be perfect ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJoMDq4AyLc Its really hard to drive this aircraft, we are always at the edge between stall and overspeed and its really long to climb to FL 700 but its a nice flying experience and the AI version can be nice to have and recreate this altitude condition will be a nice technology demonstration for DCS World !

Same for me ! I wonder see C-130 mabye the AC-130, the Skyraider <3 the C160 too. and we miss training aircraft like the T6 Texan 2, the Tucano ! And i'm serious and what about 3p drones ? QF4 or the MQ1/RQ1 or the beautiful QR4 Global Hawk (ok its a jet but i wonder have a drone like that) Civil ? Piper cub <3 :D And WW2 plane like BF109 FW190 and Spitfire, my dream still the P47 Thunderbolt and B17 Flying Fortress. And i think its actually all jet cause 3P focus to combat, mainly to fighter.

I have try with my new computer. My Logitech G930 work perfectly but with DCS World (with several aircraft and helicopter on the same airport) the sound still overload, not a crackled effect but a very loud sound like if i turn up to the maximum my headphone (but i still below the volume i use for EVERYTHING else, music listen, music creation, youtube video, every video game, movies, skype conversation etc etc... So i think the problem can only come from DCS, the effect are the same than what we can hear in the video but without the low quality and compression effect...I have the same ultra heavy and really overloud effect with this config : Volume : 76, GUI : 93, World : 96, In-Cockpit : 96, Helmet : 100 And for answer you yeah maybe i can't judge about what a pilot can hear, but if DCS (mainly the A10C) are realistic about that and if the airflow sound that we hear in DCS when we open airbreaks can also be hear at the same level for a real pilot, the huge airlflow sound around the aircraft during high AOA and mainly just before stall (who are really more loud than the little sound of airflow around airbreak that a camera can't record cause i never have hear more loudly this sound during any in cockpit video of the A10C than the high AOA airflow sound), if we can hear the speedbreak airflow sound, how can we don't hear the same sound but really more loudly that are the high AOA airflow sound ? Cause if i don't right and that we can't hear this big airflow sound that i talk about, we also can't hear the airflow sound around airbreak and landing gear... And anyways that not change what i have say fir wish list : the vibration during this phase (and no, its not an effect that only the camera can record cause some time we can clearly see the pilot be completely affected by the vibration), same for gun firing in fact in the A10C who have the gun under the cockpit all cockpit instrument are completely unable to be read, gauge move and screen and even the hud itself have a lot of parasites, this effect are also know on the F-18 who have the gun over the radar and who cause a lot of parasites during gun firing. Same thing for the turbulence effect create by another aircraft (Falcon 4 BMS and every glider simulator simulate it), this effect have caused the lost of the XB-70 by sucked another aircraft cause of huge vortex, i thing 3 of all this things (vibration, instrument affected by gun like the hud delay when an aircraft roll, gun firing or byt engine vibration for a lot of prop aircraft) and vortex who can cause crash are 3 really important part of the simulation that we can't simply forget, it just delete a huge part of realism in fact... Even the jet wash too (like we see in Top Gun) must be simulated, if fact this effect its cause a jet engine can't use supersonic airflow, its why every aircraft intake have a solution for reduce the airflow speed, like the F-14 and the F-15 where the intake simply move), if a jet engine suck a supersonic airflow the engine will simply stall, in fact in real we can't simply flight without huge turbulence and engine problem behind another aircraft, its not a little thing who are not important to simulate, its a big important thing who can affect the aircraft and cause a crash... I think a pilot can hear the airflow sound anyways but it still a speculation, but a pilot can't just don't feel the vibration, its too huge and its affect too really the flight, we can also see the famous video of F-14 tomcat vs MIG 23 we can clearly see how the aircraft stab vibrate, same thing for an F-18 (aircraft reputed for flexible wing) but even F-16 too where we can see wing vibrate. Visual effect of wing vibration and flexibility (even payload itself too) considerate like eye candy (but Falcon 4 BMS and Seven G have it) but cockpit vibration during high AOA can't be just forget, its a really important part of the simulation. Maybe we must wait to see what a real A10 or fighter aircraft will say but i'm sure he will say that we can hear (even just a little but hear it anyways and easily) the airflow during high AOA, that the vibration during high AOA are awesome to feel and can help some time, that the difficulty of gun firing are simplified without instrument effect from gun and that sim without turbulence and jet wash make the close/formation flight and even dogfight (gun only) more easily.
