  1. Personally I'd like to see the large discount sales come back for older modules. Not a fan of the bundles because they rarely offer modules I am interested in. Obviously, older modules would get discounted more where as just released would not be discounted. Next sale maybe a minor discount, the sale after that a bit more, ect. Reduce the sales to a few times a year. I'd rather have a few sales with big discounts then a bunch of bundles monthly. That is of course my opinion only. I remember when there were massive discounts and seeing DCS threads pop up on general gaming forums. A lot of people bought A-10C for a massive discount and seemed to enjoy it for what it was. Got a number of people to buy some FC3 planes for cheap to. Don't seem to see that anymore, but who knows (aside from ED) how the actual sales are now VS then.
  2. My second entry is a fictional skin based off of the No.29 Squadron from the RAF. Will replace these with better screen shots when I get a chance.
  3. Where can I find the files to edit fuel tank textures?
  4. Most of those don't have all the angles posted and a lot of the good ones are already done. But I have used that site in the past and it does have some nice info. If there are any aggressor schemes not already done with some good references do let me know. Finished this one, a fictional take on the VF-84 Jolly Rogers: I may do another fictional USN/USMC scheme if I don't find an authentic skin that isn't already done.
  5. I'll take some skin requests. If there is a skin with a number of good references you'd like to see let me know. Wanted to do an aggressor theme but it looks like all of those are already done.
  6. My entry is a fictional scheme based on the VF-84 "Jolly Rogers". It most closely resembles the F-14A schemes the squadron flew circa 1970-80. Ignore the issue with the cockpit texture, it is a known bug if you don't have the module installed. And a quick question. May I upload the skin to the download section of the site?

    SHIPS

It can be fully detailed, but just not be controllable by the player. Think of Combined Arms. Everyone has all of the vehicles regardless if they own the module or not. The tanks and SAMs are fully functional and controlled by the games AI. The difference is people with Combined Arms can make waypoints in game, change formation/speed, and even take direct control of the vehicles. In the case of a carrier, people who don't own the module need to be able to place it in a mission, land on it, visually see it, and spawn/take off on it. The AI needs to be able to control it and it needs to have all functions present in the mission editor. Again, the difference is those who own the module can control it in game and man the various stations of the ship. If it operates as described, I would support such a module but don't have interest in buying it personally. I would rather see another more modern fighter, even if it meant a Mirage 2000-5F.
  8. Edit: Found the issues. Thanks! And that is an excellent skin Skatezilla.
  9. Two questions: 1)Can someone point me in the right direction for the area under the cannons? Trying to make it black like the rest of the nose. 2) Trying to use the Bort numbers on the vertical stabilizers. Numbers show, but I get this error: Currently I just edited the .lau, but do I have to place a .dds file for the text in a folder? Or can I find one within the DCS folder somewhere? I can find the .dds files for the larger nose based Bort numbers, but not these small ones.
  10. My entry:
  11. Looking to sell my MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming graphics card. Card has worked flawlessly and has zero issues. Very quiet even under load; fans shut off at idle for silent operation. Comes with original box, packaging and accessories. Currently running roughly 10% faster than stock with no modifications to the voltage. http://i.imgur.com/1AVzWKN.jpg My Heatware: Reviews/Feedback for Flogger23m | HeatWare.com Price: $175 Will throw in a copy of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Silent Hunter 5 and maybe another game for anyone who buys the graphics card. Sales limited to the US only. PM me for offers. Thanks for looking.
  12. Thinking of upgrading my GTX 970 to a GTX 1070 and I am wondering if it will improve performance in DCS. I will be running it at 1080 with AA on. My understanding is that the NTTR map runs notably slower than the default map. I plan on getting some of the new DLC terrian eventually, so if anyone has done a similar upgrade path and has NTTR and can comment on performance increases (if any) I would appreciate it. CPU is a 4670K @ 4GHZ with 8GB of RAM, installed on an SSD running Win 10.
  13. Finished working on the a recreation of the Crimson Wing squadron from Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. Special thanks to CHSubZero for helping with the description.lau. Download here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2099838/ Coming up next is the Gelb Squadron, Razgriz and maybe a J-15 skin. With luck a good MIG-29 template will be done by then and I will do some for that aircraft.
  14. I suppose a MIG-29SMT and Su-27SM may be possible at FC3 level. But we can't be sure. In either case, it won't be a free aircraft given to FC3 owners. I'd pay for a pack with a MIG-29SMT/K/35 and Su-27SM2/35S though.
  15. The MIG-29S will likely come later. I hope so because I hardly use the A. But there is no confirmation that it will, unless I am mistaken. The SMT is fairly different from the S. It uses different avionics, upgraded cockpit and has a considerably thicker spine. The S has a larger spine than the A, but the SMT is notable larger than the original S. For all intents a purposes the SMT requires a lot of work. I would like to see an FC3 level SMT, but you may as well go all the way and make a MIG-29K/MIG-35. They look nicer and have two extra hardpoints. I'd buy such a module/pack. For reference, this is a MIG-29SMT: MIG-29S MIG-29A
  16. There has to be some common sense used. Discounting a product that much just weeks after release is a bit much. 6-8 months, or even a year later, makes sense.
  17. They don't do the massive sales anymore. It would be nice if the returned 1-2 times a year though.
  18. I'll probably do that one next. :)
  19. I have just finished a recreation of the Yellow 13, 156th Tactical Fighter Wing Aquila, livery for the Su-33. The Su-33 is visually much closer to the prototype Su-37 featured in Ace Combat 4, which Yellow 13 piloted. Download location is here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2077108/ Feel free to post any comments, criticism or any issues you may find. If anyone has any advice on how to modify both the ECM and pilot helmet do let me know and I will make the changes for a version 2. Thanks for viewing!
  20. Thanks for the template. Looks rather good. A quick WIP of a skin I'm working on. Made a bit more progress since: Keep up the good work, and keep the updates coming. :)
  21. My submission: Please excuse the horrid title. Also have a version with no music if needed. Thanks for holding the giveaway, and good luck to everyone else.
  22. Part of the reason is the poor state of DCS multiplayer from a technical (as far as I can tell) and design direction. Back in FC2 I regularly could host a server, get 4-6 random people on, and we'd be able to play smaller to medium scale missions with minimal lag. In the various DCS World builds I've tried I experience a lot more serious lag. To the point it becomes unplayable. The other reason is likely the direction the game has taken, in which many planes from different eras and capabilities are present. And they don't necessarily fit in a single mission. A mission designed around an F-15C won't play well if you're flying a MIG-21, or even worse, a MIG-15. Point being, finding a server that hosts your modules as well as missions built around them is becoming harder. I'm not trying to dissuade those who like many eras, but I do think the vast array of aircraft generations is making online play for more casual players a bit more difficult. Forget about the advanced systems modelling, I'd buy a FC3 level package of advanced Flankers and Fulcrums. MIG-29K, Su-35S, Su-27SM, MIG-35, MIG-29SMT. FC3 level with some of those planes and I'm in. Ditto for any modern aircraft to. I'd much prefer to spend $20-30 on an FC3 level Super Hornet / F-16C than $60+ on a high fidelity module.
  23. I am assuming this is still the case?
  24. Is there a paint kit / template somewhere? Looks like a nice start so far.
