[CORRECT AS IS]Throttle friction controls do nothing
F16FLCS-SME replied to F16FLCS-SME's topic in Bugs and Problems
What do you mean [CORRECT AS IS] ? How do I use it? The DCS manual has nothing about that. -
Cold and dark. 1. Start the engine. 2. Ask ground crew to put chocks. 3. Push throttle to MAX AB. Aircraft will not jump the chocks. The internet is full of these cases where F-16 jumped the chocks.

[CORRECT AS IS]Throttle friction controls do nothing
F16FLCS-SME posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
I can't make those controls to do anything. The friction wheel does not move at all. The time it takes to move the throttle from IDLE to MAX AB with the keyboard, is not affected. So, is it a WIP or bug? -
Before takeoff. 1. Change stores configuration to have 3 external fuel tanks with no other external stores. 2. Check FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR for proper fuel quantity. 3. Move AIR SOURCE switch to RAM. 4. Takeoff and stay at MAX AB. 5. Check EXT CTR fuel quantity, it will decrease. 6. Move to WING FIRST. 7. Check EXT WING fuel quantity, it will decrease. This should not happen as according to -1: Here is a short track file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/yu690i6qhmy2rn1/FUEL+TRANSFER.trk/file

Thats how the inlet looks like: And thats how it should look: Notice the HOT label is missing before the strut.

All cockpit instruments have mounting fasteners and screws for the lit panels. MFD seems to be glued in. Is this correct? The manufacturer website (Honeywell) shows two fasteners at the lower end. EDIT: Engine instruments don't have any screws too. According to this, they should.

DCS F-16 cockpit looks photorealistic, better than any other sim I played in the past !!! Having said that, there are some tweaks needed to make it more realistic. I am well aware of the single bug report per thread rule, but all those are related and probably will be fixed by the same 3D developer. 1. CMDS panel: Needs to look like this: So the MODE and PRGM switches are not of the exact same type. 2. HUD remote panel: The top left switch upper label looks like "W". It should look like this: So its clear it is "VV" and not "W". 3. IFF panel: Needs to look like this: So the MASTER switch is a totally different kind of switch from the entire cockpit. 4. Stick: Is missing the boot used to protect agains FOD trapped between the stick grip and the force transducer. A frequent cause for out of control. It needs this rubber boot added: Which after installation on the stick, looks like this: 5. TEST panel: Notice the line below the PROBE HEAT and EPU/GEN switches. Should look like that: So no line. That line is only for F-16D models where another switch needs to be there so the line is a functional separator. 6. Right eye-brow warning lights (during MAL & IND LTS test to see the labels): Notice how each lamp housing is divided in the middle to 2 different lights. It should be like this: So the HYD OIL PRESS and TO/LDG CONFIG lamp housings should not have separation lines because it is considered a single warning light each.

Exactly, I used to have a laptop to play flight sims when I had to stay at the base for long weekend shifts. So obviously, keyboard was my only choice. I do remember tring the MSFS but it had the same pitch problem so I uninstalled it for good. Other sims worked perfectly with pitch keyboard commands. Now I have the HOTAS Cougar but sometimes I use the keyboard for debugging. ED, kindly explain the logic behind it, if any, and if still applicable to modern days.

1. Physically disconnect your HOTAS from the USB port. 2. Bind the arrow keys to the pitch and roll HOTAS commands and some other keys to the yaw command. 3. Before takeoff, use external view to see the tail. 4. Use your pitch command keys to move the horizontal tails full up or down. 5. Both horizontal tails will defelect to the maximum correct position. 6. Release the pitch keyboard key. 7. Both horizontal tails will stay at the last commanded position. 8. Try the roll and yaw keyboard commands. 9. Flaperons and rudder will return to original position when key is released. 10. Connect your HOTAS to the USB port. 11. Check again with your HOTAS. 12. Everything works as it shuold, when pitch stick is released, horizontal tails return to their original position. It seems only the keyboard pitch commands are bugged. Keyboard commands should simulate the spring inside the stick force transducer and the rudder pedals that return them to neutral position when no force is applied.

[INVESTIGATING] AUTOSTOP does not shudown everything
F16FLCS-SME replied to F16FLCS-SME's topic in Bugs and Problems
This is how the script currently does it. IRL when a pilot is about to finish his sortie and transfer the aircraft to the responsibility of the ground crew, its the pilot responsibility to shutdown everything, including the O2 regulator. It is called "Safe for Maintenance". Leaving systems ON have the possibility of them working on the ground and emiting harmfull RF radiation that the ground crew can't even sense until they get cancer. Leaving the CMDS ON has the possibility of uncontrolled dispensing of flares which cannot be extinguished on the ground with any kind of known fire extinguisher until the flare burns out completely. Where I served, it happened twice and two ground crew personnel got severe third degree burns!!! The flare produced such an intense heat, it left a hole in the HAS concrete floor! -
