[INVESTIGATING] AUTOSTOP does not shudown everything
F16FLCS-SME posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
After the AUTOSTOP script finished: CMDS is on STBY. CH, FL and other CMDS switches are still ON. MIDS LVT is ON. IFF MASTER is in STBY. I expect the script to shutdown everything the same way I do after a flight. -
Page 255 CMDS: "f-16C" should be "F-16C".
-
Page 245 HARM: The Expand/FOV Button (Pinky) has nothing to do with FLCS. The paddle Switch belongs to the FLCS.

Sometimes the manual clearly states some options are not implemented yet. But in other cases its missing, so it is confusing. I.e. after a successful FLCS BIT test, the manual instructs me to check for BIT PASS in the FLCS MFD page (page 99). However, MFD FLCS and TEST pages shows a placeholder. It would be nice if the manual will include notes for everything that is still not implemented, WIP or a placeholder.

As a suggestion to make the manual more professionally looking like -1 and -34: Please use all caps for every cockpit control and position. I.e. in page 239 Should be "when the LASER ARM switch is set to ARM".
-
Page 229 Unguided Bombs CCIP Attack (Post-Designate): "Sulution" should be "Solution". EDIT: same problem in page 242.

As a general rule throughtout the manul, each acronym should be explained in its first instance. I.e. the acronym "CCIP" appears first in page 39 but explained only in page 219 as . It means the user needs to read more than 80% of the manaul just to understand what he read after 15%...

Page 201 Allowable Steering Error Circle (ASEC): "he" should be "the".

When you select CREATE FAST MISSION from the main menu, you get this: The pull down menu for selecting the START FROM contains 4 choices. 2 of them contain again the word "From": "From runway" and "From ramp". I think the word "From" is redundant since it is not showing for "Airborne and "Random". Please remove this redundant word from the pull down menu for overall product consistancy.

1. On ground, perform an EPU TEST. 2. FLCS PWR lights will come on almost immediately. 3. EPU RUN light will come on after 2 seconds. The logic should be the opposite since according to -1: That means the EPU should come up to speed (EPU RUN light comes on) and only then the EPU GEN and its PMG rotates at the correct speed to supply power to the FLCS (FLCS PWR lights come on).

AVIONICS POWER DL switch is mentioned few times in the manual. The player is requested several times to move it to the DL (ON) position. However. page 151 clearly states: So please remove all instructions to use it at all.

EPU GEN, EPU PMG at aircraft startup training mission
F16FLCS-SME replied to F16FLCS-SME's topic in Missions and Campaigns
The narrator and mission text asks the player to turn ON the AVIONICS POWER DL switch. According to DCS manual, that switch is not applicable to block 50 ao it should be deleted from the mission script and voice narration. -
Page 177 Air Combat Preparation: There is no "SAFE" position. It is an "OFF" position. EDIT: same problem in page 205.
-
Page 160 Overview: Items 23 and 25 are wrongly indented. EDIT: it is not shown correctly above. See it in the manual.

Page 155 Precise Participant Location and Identification (PPLI) Tracks: "flightand" should be "flight and".

Page 129 Air-to-Air Modes: "carats" should be "carets".

I am also a beta tester. A good tester tests not just what is normal, but looks for the corner cases, where human inputs is less predictible. ED is praizing itself for detailed system modeling. I too think ED has done a great job, especially compared "to the other sim" which I helped to develop too. But by pointing out corner cases, system modeling can be even better and realistic. Besides that, the LG handle is toggled on the ground by FLCS maintainers, to check gain changes. Obviouslly with LG safety pins installed.

Page 123 PROBE HEAT switch: There are 5 probes so "probe" should be "probes".
-
Page 117 AR Status Lights: This sentence seems to be misplaced. The AR door is already closed so no communication with the boomer in that manner. Steps 3 and 5 are exactly the same in this page.
-
Page 111 Trimming the Aircraft: This is done electronically by the FLCS. The stick "neutral" position do not move mechanically or phisically.
-
Page 97 HUD Control Panel: "you" should be "your".
-
Page 93 MAIN PWR switch: The "14." appears for no reason.
-
Page 84 Autopilot: Roll modes has nothing to do with ", nose up or nose down". Only the PITCH switch is held in place and has an OFF position.
