Yet again, thanks for all the info peeps. Am still learning a lot and have now got my H50 cooler on order....not allowed it till Chrimbo though :( Once fitted will then look at going the distance!! Think I will be looking at 3.8Ghz and hopefully keep the temps down....and as you said Slayer, I dought any game will get all 4 cores loaded to 100% so if it is stable with Prime95 running at 100% then games should be a little lower in temp. All I gotta do now is figure out about the XMP thing as CPUz says I have it?? (See desktop picture in previous post) I did change some bit's on the RAM (UCLK and DRAM Freq), but when I booted it locked saying problems with the overclock. I put the memory bit's back to Auto and all worked fine. The memory part seems a lot harder to understand!!

That's why I am looking at the H50, smaller and will fit in my case. With the H70 it'll hit other parts of the PC. Have got until the final release of DCSW to get it as everything has to go through Domestic Sunray LOL :music_whistling:

That's what I'm hoping Santa is gonna bring me for Chrimbo.......I've been a good boy for 37 years now, think it's time for a H50 :lol:

The best I can do is 3Ghz @ 68'c max. I want to keep it below 70'c and when I get my cooler will go for the bigger overclock. Thanks for all the help and ifno peeps!! :thumbup:

?? I'm a noob so may be wrong, but does the trimmer button not disingage the trimmer function? I always push and hold the trim button, get to my new heading/pitch/etc and then let go off the trim button. I find it easier and feel that without it pressed the aircraft is fighting me??

Thought so :( What sort of temp can I run it at safely? I'm thinking below 80'c??

Just had a look at Orthos and it said it was for Dual Core and I have Quad Core. Decided to try Prime 95 and ran the stress test. My Real Temp alarms (set for 90'c) went off and it got to 93'c on the first core so I stopped the test. That was in the first 3 mins!! :doh: So I now think I need more cooling!! The max temp after 30 minutes of Black Shark was 75'c and Prime 95 came up with no errors, it was just the alarm and temp of 93'c that made me stop it!!

This is what I have now with the changes I've made. If anybody who knows what they are doing looks at the posts and pictures and thinks.....'OMFG< he's gonna do some damage' then please let me know LOL:megalol:

Well I have been loking into overclocking for a while now and have finally given it ago. Still haven't got a cooler yet so just trying some basic things out and as you will see in my sig have got 3.2Ghz just by changing the BLCK Freq. I have also done the following in the Bios: Hyper threading = off Ai Overclock = manual Speedstep = disabled (which also removed Turbo mode) DRAM Freq = 1604Mhz UCLK Freq = 3207Mhz (think this is what is meant by Uncore Speed?) I haven't delved as far into the voltages yet but I don't want to go any higher as I still have the standard cooler (gotta wait for Santa LOL) The GPU is still running at about 40'c and the processor at 50'c whilst doing normal stuff. gonna try Black Shark and see what happens. What do I need to test the system for stability? I have CPUz and Real temp which has a XS Bench...is that what I use to test it?? If I am not back online within a week you know it's all gone Pete Tong!!

I have now managed to get hold of PC pilot issues 67, 68, 69 and 70 which have the last 4 tutorials in for Black Shark. The only one I can't get hold of is issue number 66. the website has sold out :cry: If anyone has this issue and would like to get rid (sell) then please let me know so we can sort something out.

I'm having enough trouble flying with them on let alone turning the things off!!! LOL :joystick:

It's in it's own folder ie C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam Apps\Common\Black Shark (not exact but you get my drift.) The fact that it is 32bit only answers my question. Thanks all for the help :thumbup:

Cancel my last....just checked the PC Pilot website and found out it is issue 66 so gonna back order!

I purchased PC Pilot today and tried out the Datalink and Counter measures mission (Part 5) while using the mag.......AWESOME I can now use my wingmen!! and completed my first test run with kills and a return to base:joystick: I want to get the back orders for PC Pilot with the DCSBS Tutorials in. The Part 5 tutorial is in Number 70, and I was wondering if the other 4 parts are in Numbers 66, 67, 68 and 69 or if they are spread over further PCPilot mags? Any info would be nice so I can get the back orders.

Just a quick question. I installed DCSBS through Steam, which is in my x86 folder on the C: drive. I have Windows 7 64 bit. Does this mean that Black Shark is only running in 32bit mode or does it not matter what folder it has been put in? I have 2 folders, Program Files and Program Files x86 :helpsmilie:

Thanks for the info. It is just an immersion thing for me. Too busy watching the awesome videos made by you lot to be able to make one myself :D Had a look through the lua files aswell but couldn't see anything :(

Being a complete noob, not sure if this wiil help, but I followed one thing in the Alpha Guide and the only thing I changed was in graphics_bs and it was the objects in red below. High { near_clip = 0.2; middle_clip = 5; far_clip = 140000; structures = {60, 6000}; trees = {1000, 9000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; objects = {5000, 80000}; mirage = {3000, 20000}; surface = {20000, 80000}; lights = {200, 80000}; lodMult = 1.5; lodAdd = 0; } I changed it from 80000 (80kms) to 20000 (kms) and my tanks went transparent. I didn't change any of the clips, so my way of thinking is if the objects setting is too low it doesn't matter what you set the clips too it won't make a difference. Even on the low setting objects is set to 80000. I am hoping I have stumbled on a solution to your problem, or if not........I'll get my coat LOL!!

Is there any way of getting camera jiggle to stay on all the time instead of having to key press for each mission I start?

Thanks very much for the link! I didn't need it in the end. I have DCSBS through Steam so just did a verify game files and it downloaded all the files I had edited and replaced them with the originals. Everything seems to be back to original now. It even reset my Forcefeedback False back to True!! Only down side was my Logbook was reset!! Not to bad coz it had too many deaths and ejections anyway :music_whistling:

Just wondered if anyone has an unedited graphics_bs.cfg file, as I want to make sure I have changed all settings back to standard, but without having to do a complete re-install!! And no I didn't save it before I edited it....:doh: I am a tard!!!!
