Are there new ones out now? I was using the 15?.?? can't rememebr exactly? -
Just wondering what drivers everyone has installed if you have a nVidia card. I am using 160.99 which I only installed a week or so ago, and I am trying to find out if I need to roll back to stop the lines apperaing on mountains in the distance? I can't remember having this problem before and the only thing I know I have changed is the drivers? :helpsmilie:

No, I mean the little tree air fresheners you can buy that hang off your rear view mirror!!
-
After seeing the A-10C 'little things you've noticed' thread I wondered if anyone had noticed that the air freshener moves in one of the trucks as it drives along. I was flying the Shooting Range mission and crashed (nothing new there then LOL) and the view switched straight to a moving truck. I had a look round for while as he drove then noticed the air freshener was swinging in the cab as he went over bumps!!! Now that is attention to detail!!!

Thanks for the info, I am hoping that I was right as I am getting a new 2Gb stick that is exactly the same as the 2 I already have in (when I bought the pc the original 2 sticks were not bought as dual channel) The 3 sticks I will have in once the new one arrives are all Corsair Platinum Ed DDR3 XMS3 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 @1.65v so I am hoping this means they are designed as triple memory but as I only had two sticks is why it would only show as dual. They all have the same code TR3X6G1600C9. Will soon find out on Tuesday when it arrives LOL

Have just found my manuals in the bottom of my wardrobe :music_whistling: I have the manuals for my Mobo, processor, joystick and more.....have even managed to find out 2 more buttons on my joystick are usable so have used them for weapon selection in DCS Black Shark.....anyway back on topic...... The mobo is a triple channel mobo. It has six slots as follows: DIMM_A2 = empty DIMM_A1 = 2Gb DIMM_B2 = empty DIMM_B1 = 2Gb DIMM_C2 = empty DIMM_C1 = empty It advises A1 and B1 with 2 sticks. Phew! If I get another stick (3 sticks total) it advises A1, B1 and C1 (all red ones) 4 sticks? as above but 4th stick in A2, then after that fill them all (no option for 5 sticks, just goes straight to 6.) It's amazing what you learn when you read the manual...... Thanks peeps and Fopeyducker.....you need a new Callsign :smilewink:

Thanks Peeps!! So it's another 2 gig of ram, GTX580, then a cooler and overclock like hell mmmwwwwaaahhhaaaaahhhaa!!...........then buy a new PC when I fry this one. On a serious note, will get some ram a cooler then think I will go for the overclock. May take a while, so gonna have to speak nice to the wife since chrimbo is coming up :music_whistling:

I currently have 4Gb of RAM which is 2 sticks of 2. It is Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 Platinum Edition?? (whatever all that means :book:) When I bring up CPUz it says my memory is dual channel. I take it that is because it only has 2 sticks in (3rd slot is empty) I have been trying to get another stick of 2Gb of the same ram. Is it worth getting the stick or not?? i.e. will it make my memory then read as triple channel and will there be a difference in performance? Also I have a Palit GTX260, not nVidia like I thought. DXDiag says I have DX11 installed, but I take it I can only run at DX10 due to the GPU? As you will see my sig is changing all the time as I learn more about my PC and it's bit's and bob's.....thanks to all you peeps who have helped me understand more (mainly through learning about overclocking my i7 920 CPU) A much apprecieated NOOB!! LOL

I have the DO Revision

Have just been playing DCS BS and Bad Company 2 for about an hour and an half. Had max temps on the GPU and CPU of around 72'c via Realtemp. DCS BS seemed to only take the proccessors to about 63'c max but Bad Company was 72'c. I am thinking that with the standard cooling I have going for a 3.2Ghz overclock may push the temp upto about 80'c or more which seems a bit dodgy? As Mower said, "had a lock at 70'c" I think I may wait and get cooling befoe I start playing!!
-
Well I'm still taking many notes..thanks peeps!! Have looked at the H50 and at £50 it may have to wait till after chrimbo (unless my wife get's me it when she buys me DCS A10 , hints already passed on LOL) Have so far downloaded CPUZ and Realtemp. At the moment after 2 hours of the PC being turned on with the wife doing normal internet stuff, ebay facebook etc, it was around 40'c for the cores. The GPU was at 39'c. I still have stock cooler and will be looking into a small overclock just to see what I can do. Not gonna try for anything big, just 3.0Ghz or 3.2Ghz for now just to start an understanding for me. See how the temp goes with stock cooler, then when I can get a new cooler may try and go a little bigger. I take it the GPU (GTX260) is also overclockable? A few have mentioned Prime95.....is that the Realtemp thing??
-
Thanks for the link, had a look and am thinking I only want to get above maybe 3.2Ghz so not going for a massive o/c which as everyone has said should help keep it stable (less chance of burning my house down LOL) If the o/c isn't gonna make a difference on DCS A10, then I might not even bother :( I'll just get a new nVidia GTX580

Has anyone actually beaten the "Gauntlet" mission?
CarneyUK replied to BeachAV8R's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Had another crack at Gauntlet. Haven't gotta clue how to use wingmen (gonna have to read that up coz they just followed me like sheep,) but did a lot better than last time. Also managed to get a lucky shot with the cannon on a UH60 and took it out Yeehaa!!! Saw them both coming and managed to get a lock then took it out with a few rounds of HE! :) -

Yes it can be that difficult...I can't even complete the Courier mission, hit a cliff once and the other time started looking for the car whilst in the hover, next thing everything shut's down and I'm on the deck. I think I will leave Gauntlet till 2012 :music_whistling: I am sure after I took out the 2 personel, that 2 enemy helo's flew right past us and didn't even notice?? Gauntlit First Try.trk -
Thanks for the info. Have been looking at O'clocking guides and to be honest it fried my brain let alone the CPU  At the moment I have standard cooling with a standard setup. Will keep looking into the online stuff and see what I can figure out. I was hoping there was software that could do it for you but doesn't look like it. Will do plenty of reading up before I start playing too much (and get the cooler!!)....will also see how A-10C runs when I get it then decide wether it's worth the risk. Have noticed a few guides have said that they melt a few CPU's whilst trying to get higher numbers.

Hi Peeps, Have been playing Black Shark for a few months now and loving it. Have got the graphics on max with civ traffic off and shadows on minimum. Am getting 30fps with no stutters and it runs smooth. For me 30fps is fine as it looks smooth (not sure if it is set to max at 30fps?). I am looking forward to getting A-10C when it is released and am hoping I get the same smooth 30fps while running it with graphics setting high. If I do I will be a very happy dude. My question is, if I did want to overclock my processor/graphics card how easy is it? I have very limited/no knowledge of how to overclock etc etc so would like to know if there is software out there that will do it for me without me burning my house down!! I want to avoid buying more PC components if possible (doesn't help whilst saving for a Warthog HOTAS) Any help ideas would be much appreciated.

I had one of those aswell LOL, what was it? 8meg of ram or something, and the Thrustmaster Topgun Joystick with a hat switch and 4, yes 4 buttons!!
