Is he just trying to stay in formation?? Have you given him a command to RTB (return to Base?) I've never landed at another FARP so wouldn't know? I have given a command to my wingman to RTB, and normally he just flies off back to the original location?

Still called a FARP (Forward Arming and Refuelling Point) but also have the FOB (Forward Operating Base.) Quick paint pic......but not sure if in Black Shark the T does actually line up with the wind unless the FARP is set in that direction?? Willtry when I get back from visiting family.

Bloody hilarious!! Nice find!

No it's not a porn video LOL. It's a pilot showing how big his balls are without you seeing them!! You wouldn't wanna get it wrong..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hcWZcXeik0?fs=1&hl=en_GB

Was just having a llok for a better understanding myself and found this http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=171976&st=12 so yeah should be within .5v. Is Prime 95 falult cleared??

Just another food for thought...what's the VTT +200mv for? Can it be set to auto? (I haven't got a clue what it is btw) Is it worth downloading Prime 95 again from a different location??

I always set myself up into wind and then approach at 100kts losing height at about 300 ft/min. IIRC the FARP will give you wind direction when you call them. I have the view slightly out the left window (better view of the farp) and slowly side slip in. As I approach I am slowly loosing speed so by the time I am 50ft and almost on top of the farp I am down to a crawl. Normally then turn it into wind to make it easier. It's just a case then of slowing it up for that last few feet and touch down! Main thing is PRACTICE :D The more you do it the better you will get. You could always set up a mission with a FARP and no enemys or anything else just to practice FARP landings. Just keep doing circuits with touch 'n' go's until you are happy with how you can do it.

No expert but just something I noticed, I have the D0 version i7 920 and have set CPU Voltage to 1.15 (as in previous post) as this was advised "D0 = 1.15v and C0 1.25 volt." If you have got it at 1.35v could that be too high and causing problems??? I've got 183x20 and 1.15v (CPU Voltage) with 3.6Ghz absolutely stable. From what I know the higher you clock the more voltage you need, but is there a pooint when it's too high??? Just a thought and as I said I'm no expert.

Thrustmaster Warthog for Black Shark
CarneyUK replied to CarneyUK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the super quick replies.....just fund this aswell which answered my question.... http://www.simhq.com/_technology3/technology_175a.html -
Have just read a post about rudder pedals and it got me thinking. I have the Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS at the moment and don't have rudder pedals (use the throttle rocker).......if I get the Thrustmaster Warthog will I need rudder pedals or does it have a twist grip on the cyclic??

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...may your smiles be as big and many as ours while playing the DCS Series!!

I am no expert but it sounds like you have good cooling in your case already. I couldn't get to 3.2Ghz without the extra cooling. My H50 drops about 25-30'c of my CPU temp at 100% load with Prime 95. I have 3.6Ghz at the mo and it runs under 70'c at 100% load so I reckon you would be good for 4Ghz+. As for RAM, someone with some knowledge on here will know.

Have I overclocked my GPU?????
CarneyUK replied to CarneyUK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Dude  All is well :D -
Just wondering if I have OC'd my GPU without knowing it? I have these settings now and havn't had any problems I have noticed! Ai overclock = manual Turbo and speedstep = disabled CPU Ration = 20 BLCK = 183 Dram Freq = 1467Mhz UCLK = Auto CPU Volt = 1.15 (advised 1.25 fopr C0 and 1.15 for D0) The thing I have noticed is that in CPUz my graphics card Core, Shaders and Memory change. If I put CPUz 'default' then they read Core = 625 Shaders = 600 Memory = 250 If I put 'Current' it reads Core = 625 Shaders = 1348 Memory = 1100 All in Mhz and they do change a bit especially when the CPU has more % load on them. Am I right in thinking my OC has overclocked the whole system? (no problems as I said but the GPU does run up to 76'c every now and then) Since all is running fine I will leave it as it is, just wanna make sure I ain't gonna damage my GPU.

I bought DCSBS to see what the DCS series was like. Have never owned LO or FC2. Now I have it I play DCSBS all the time and am being very patient (although it is very hard!!) until the final release of DCSW comes out!!.......not sure if I will be able to wait much longer :joystick:

It's all them hours flying dude....it's tired your GPU out.....may even use it as an excuse to get a new GPU from the wife
-
@ Teej, not good dude. That's the stuff I'm worried about and why I have taken it so easy. Especially with no warrenty left and not enough dosh to cover a replacement and the fact the wife would put me on radio silence for a year!!! The PC did boot fine this morning so no Cold Boot problems (which is what I think it is after reading up on internet.) Gonna leave it as it is for now and see how it runs over Christmas. Guys/Gals, thanks for all the information and advise. Here's looking at 2011....the year of the WARTHOG!!!!:joystick:

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
CarneyUK replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Would love to see the Eurofighter in DCS with voice activation! I know it's not the best aircraft in the world but I love the way it looks! -
@ Mower PMSL! I have been playing with the settings and have done some changes: Ai overclock = manual Turbo and speedstep = disabled CPU Ration = 20 BLCK = 183 Dram Freq = 1467Mhz UCLK = Auto CPU Volt = 1.15 (advised 1.25 fopr C0 and 1.15 for D0) Getting 3.6Ghz with Prime95 temps never going above 63'c for about an hour. So this seems to me to be stable, but I have had before (not with these settings) an 'Overclock failed on boot up' before. When this happens I go back to standard settings and start again. This is with Voltages set at auto and I don't want to keep starting again each time, but am not sure what sort of things could cause a failed boot when all seems well in the tests? If this happens again what are the sort of things that might cause it....I am thinking more than likely voltage settings or would it be something else?? The voltage for the DRam is set to auto at the moment only the CPU Voltage is changed.

H50 arrived and now installed. Got a friend coming round tonight to help me out :music_whistling: Will be keeping a close eye on you Mower......only coz your spec is similar to mine  and looking for some tips.

I take it you are running Windows 7 64bit? I have DCSBS installed through Steam so the folder ends up in Program Files x86\Steam\Steam Apps\common\dcs black shark If you haven't installed it through Steam I would imagine it would still be in the x86 folder (32 bit), unless you aren't running a 64 bit OS.
