  1. Contrast with Oleg's Storm of War - a different beast but completely new, new scenery etc, been in development forever. I've had it on pre-order for over 4 years (!) for just $30.... I'm happy to pay the $60 for A-10C...but I would have been happier with the Fulda gap than Georgia. Cheers, Keith
  2. Getting the download was a bit of hassle but only took two days, would have been one but for my network problems. Normally would prefer the DVD but in this case will wait for the UK release. Cheers, Keith
  3. Webmoney payment worked fine tonight, downloading now. At one time I was 3000 rubles in debt...then 300 rubles in credit but with nothing purchsed, then finally purchased, keys displayed and download links. Predicting 8 hrs download. The webmoney SMS came through within a couple of minutes. Presume you have checked the number was correct, did you put the correct country code on the front and leave out the leading zero? Otherwise you can probably just do it all again. I spent hours last night fighting the webmoney thing...when I should have been working.... Its been very usefull but it will be coming off my PC very soon! Cheers, Keith
  4. Fought my way through to trying to pay for the download from my Webmoney Ruble account, but the Webmoney Keeper would never react to clicking the web browser button, after about 50 tries finally started working but then got error to the effect that vendor would not accept Webmoney. Grrrrrrr Went back to the 1C page but appears to be down? Anybody else having problems??? Try again in the morning.... Cheers, keith
  5. They shipped to me in the UK, took about 4 days and cost less than £25 including shipping and credit-card costs. That was when the price was $30, so should be cheaper now. Cheers, Keith
  6. I've converted the Training Mission scripts to HTML and posted them at http://members.lycos.co.uk/keithb77/ Browsable, or printable for use when taking control yourself. Cheers, Keith

  7. Personally I'd be happy if they just copied the Janes FA18 avionics implementation..... Really I just want a fast strike aircraft whose cockpit and HUD I can understand, where I dont have to constantly convert KMH to MPH or KTS! Cheers, Keith
  8. My CD just arrived in the UK - just 7 days after ordering it from Naturalpoint, pretty good considering I chose the cheap option. Faster than Graphsim delivering F4AF! (though their postage was even cheaper). Thanks, Keith
  9. The two-seat SU-25U is used for training naval aviators, including carrier landings on the Kusnetzov. Is there any chance of getting a hook on the FC SU-25? It doesnt have to be visible, just a patch to add the functionality would be Ok! Is this something ew can do with LUA coding? You can almost land the existing SU-25 on the Kuznetzov - my best effort ended with a gentle belly-flop over the ramp - has anyone actually made it? Cheers, Keith
  10. Simware are still listing the FC CD, shipping '15 April', price TBA http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=1338 Cheers, Keith
  11. I've tried and sadly it doesnt quite work. You can replay the track and AI lead will fly the aerobatics whilst replaying the track, but as soon as you Alt-J in to the wingman lead reverts to the pre-planned flight and waypoints. However I have had good results creating missions to fly as the wingman - the AI mainly flies 'unrealistic' manouvres with large height changes, so if you avoid these, and stay alert at waypoints and in the circuit then it can be very interesting alternative to flying #1 Cheers, Keith
  12. Nope, didn't work - the AI lead does fly your aerobatics quite happily, until you take control and then he reverts to the flight plan. Back to the drawing board! Is there anyway to switch views without taking control of the track? IL2 had the option, cant find it in LOMAC. Cheers, Keith
  13. Hi-fly, have you tried flying your manouvres as #1 in a two-ship mission, saving it as a track and re-flying using Alt-J to fly as #2. Never tried saving tracks so I'm not sure how closely the replay matches the original...... Cheers, Keith
  14. I've added two wingman missions to http://members.lycos.co.uk/keithb77/ - mountain and bad-weather flying. Oddly in 1.1 flight lead scrubs the mountain mission and turns around! Cheers, Keith
  15. Alt-J does work in 1.1demo, but the mission has to allow it. **EDIT** I have two sample missions that work, posted on my Lomac page at http://members.lycos.co.uk/keithb77/ The problem with 1.1 is that when you jump into the cockpit with Alt-J you damage the nosewheel (you can see the bounce) and it wont retract on take off! I think the nosewheel is too delicate! With 1.02 you can even start in a HAS. This sort of works in 1.1 but again the nosewheel is damaged and you cant steer! So for 1.1 I've made a variant where you start in the air , just after take-off. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this issue? Cheers, Keith
  16. How to fy as #2 You can do this and its an interesting challenge! The editor insists you fly as lead but you can jump to the wingman on the runway. As soon as you start rolling in #1 hit F2 to display external view and again to display your wingman. Then Alt-J to take control. If you are quick enough you will keep up with lead - make sure throttle control is active and at max. The trick now is to match your speed against lead - he makes some pretty dramatic changes! Not yet tried this with 1.1 but should work. Cheers, Keith
  17. Good news, thanks for passing it on Matt. Cheers, Keith
  18. Icekiller, I'm not supporting the license agreement, just pointing it out (incidentally I got a UK specific text did you get a Danish specific one?) Reading the license even posting user-created missions is not allowed ('unauthorised scenarios') so the whole thing is realistically a sad joke. Like the whole 1.1 debacle really. Cheers, Keith
  19. Folks, we are in danger of losing the point of this thread. I'm not confused - just trying to stay level-headed and open-minded. Many people have removed the demo in the fear that it is actively exposing their system to hackers and spyware, and that Starforce is sending information about them out into the internet. That doesnt appear to be the case, and I want to focus here on actual observed facts. We have more chance of ED responding that way also. I've kept my opinions to the 'good news, bad news" threads etc, they are not happy opinions - my credit card is back in my wallet, but I'm not dissing anybody, whether they believe ED are the saviours of flight-simming or Starforce are the minions of beelzebub or anything between. Cheers, Keith
  20. Icekiller, read the license agreement you have to accept to install: "The Multimedia Product is licensed and not sold to the User, for private use." Cheers, Keith
  21. Jetfire, I suspect a lot of us are now on the fence and are waiting to see what happens. I can live with Starforce, I've suffered it before with a 50% failure rate (Q. how do I get a refund if 1.1 just doesnt work on my specific PC?) But I wont accept intrusive activation. So I cant vote. But there is hope that ED will recognize that they will alienate a heap of potential paying customers in thwarting a bunch of pirates who wouldnt have bought it anyway.... So I keep listening and posting. If 1.1 comes out with excessive protection I wont buy it, I'll stick to a hybrid of the demo and 1.02. Cheers, Keith
  22. When the Racing Sim GTR was released it was only in Germany, but within days the menus etc had been translated to english. Possibly a similar process could be followed with LOMAC. No piracy is involved, although I guess it counts as reverse engineering which is usually disallowed by the License Agreements we dont read! But it would only be worth it if the CD contained extra stuff or didn't require this activatio c**p. Cheers, Keith
  23. I've read all 20(?) pages on 1.1 protection and seen lots of opinions and emotions and anecdotes, but no actual observed experimental results. Maybe I missed it hidden in the confusion, so perhaps we can have a thread for just observed facts? I've only just been able to install the demo, so I had a chance to install a software firewall first. (eg Outlook from http://www.agnitum.com/download/) to supplement my hardware firewall. Unlike the XP firewall this prevents outgoing connections that you have not authorised - eg out of the box it stopped Steam and Mozilla, asking for approval, and listing all connections. So when I ran the 1.1 demo for the first time what happened? :?: Nothing. No outgoing connections, no unexpected traffic, no problem running the demo. Maybe Starforce is only in the demo because it was too hard to take out or they forgot, or maybe its going to leap into life later........ Also Task manager did not show any unexpected tasks. Tonight I will run the demo with Performance monitor in the background, to see what processes really are running. But I dont think we should worry about the demo, just get a software firewall that prevents/reports outgoing connections to see whats really going on on your PC! Cheers, Keith
  24. What happens in a couple of years time when Starforce and ED are both bankrupt and have disappeared? How do we reactivate then? I've recently reinstalled Janes FA-18 and Microprose Falcon 4, both 5+ years old. I rebuild my PC in some significant way every 6 months. I was fully intending to buy 1.1 until this issue. I can live with drivers and keys, but I'm not going begging to play a game I've paid for already. Grump, keith
  25. Absolutely no question as to which most western jetheads would prefer. FA/18 I've been resurrecting Janes FA-18, reinstalling Falcon 4 as an FA-18 sim and considering buying the old GSC Hornet sim. I would pay double for a modern FA-18 sim over a KA-50 sim. Depends where ED see their market. Maybe if we all buy 1.1 over the web there is a chance, but I doubt it personally. Cheers, Keith
