  1. Im on 3080 and I can't believe 3090 fixes that issue. That sucks. This machine wasn't cheap.
  2. Okay reading manuals is all good...but u need to play dcs and just fly. u can read as much as u want but theres nothing like doing it. Just hop on to a multiplayer server and do it. ul learn much more than just reading.
  3. The best way to learn the f16 is to pick an indidivual system and watch as many youtube videos as possible and maybe ask questions on this forum. For example when I first started I made a promise to myself that I was going to master the f16 and I knew this would be a long process. I started same as you, free flights and canyon runs etc. Then combat I started with air to air bvr. aim 120c and i watched all the tutorials, did some of the simple air to air missions that come with the f16 against the computer on easy level to familiaries myself with how it works, set up the buttons and get used to them. Then aim9 etc. I just stuck with that for a month or so and played in online servers and single player mode whenever i needed practice and make it almost second nature. Quick button presses and ability to use radar quickly is important and comes with practice. then I moved onto the harm missile. I set up a SA11 in mission editor and just flew that for a few hours until I was comforatble with it and understood it thoroughly. asked a lot of questions on the forum like is it better to go with the number that shows up on the rwr or the letter and diffference between track radar and search radar of these sams. I got my answers on this forum from very helpful members. You wana go for numbers first whenever possible. Then I joined a squadron and just asked a lot of questions to people on discord whilst flying with them. dont be afraid to ask questions and get other peoples opinions and how they do things. Most people are very very happy to help. If you've done your homework, you'll find that other people are either doing it worse than you or same as you but hardly better than you. But you need to have practiced before getting used to the system, buttons you've assigned etc before you can feel that you know more than the next man. Even if you do know more, keep on taking on board what they are saying and doing because if they talk 90% jibberish, there is always a 10% chance theyl say something u didn't think of before and can include it in ur skills. I've learnt some of my skills from reletavelly new people on dcs. You always listen, take on board what the other dcs pilot is saying and never judge. Theres a lesson in everything and from everyone...and by talking...you may also help the other person as well. After Harm, I moved onto ground targets with unguided bombs...same again...watched all the grim reaper, wagner videos and all the others i could find. Set up some simple tank targets in mission editor and just flew for a few hours until started becooming comforatble....asked querstions on this forum about things i didnt understand...one think i realised is that in each youtube video...you could watch a 10 min video but your question gets answered somewhere in 5 seconds of that 10 min video thats why its important to watch the videos closely and pay attention. After solo practice, I played on on an online server...picking up easy ground targets that don't fire back at you...practiced using the CCIP mode/ CCRP mode in the heat of the battle and it helps. Then moved onto targeting proper bases with other pilots. Then I moved onto the targeting pod, repeated all the above etc. All this is over a month or so. Its good to pick a topic like aim 120c and just do that for a week. Then do aim 9 x and just do that for a week. Each weapon system just rinse it as much as you can. Once you are comfy with all....you can apply any of them in any given situation quickly and efficiently. And if you feel overwhelmed and daunted by all that is to learn...dont be scared..Embrace the fear and say OKAY FINE THIS SEEMS HARD AND I FEEL LIKE I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT BUT THATS OKAY. LET ME JUST GO AHEAD AND DO IT ANYWAY. Dont fight the daunting feeling...its natural. embrace it and once you've become good at say the aim 120 c...you move on to the next one. ANd you can always revisit one of the systems you ve done before just to refresh your memory by going back to the basics and doing easy simple mission practice again. I still go back to the easy BVR mission that comes with the f16 if i need to try something for the aim 120 like high of boresite. And remember....always have the mindset of a student. even if you've mastered something. Never get arrogant. Oh yeah...and stick to one plane...you can fly others for fun but make a promise to your self that your going to put in the time and effort on one plane. Others sure you can fly here and there but dont put mental effort into trying to learn many planes at the same time. I fly huey for fun some times and know its basics etc but I wont dive into it in depth until I have completely mastered the f16. Its good to have another plane just for fun to mix it up for the times you just want something different.
  4. Just got the syria map and im having VR frame rate issues as well. Works fine on persian gulf and caucases.
  5. Can we just call it Falcon instead of Viper.
  6. Quick question...how does targeting pod in the f18 or a10 differ from the f16? Is it easier to do ground attack with f18 and a10 than the f16? Also @Machalot you just said the below: Your can also have somebody else illuminate the target with their laser, and you use Laser Spot Search (LSS) to find it. Use the CAGE/UNCAGE button while TGP is SOI to initiate the search. Make sure the laser codes match. Default as 1688 usually works unless an advanced user has changed things. You can set the LSS code on the TGP page writin the DED. Would that be JTAC in multiplayer servers?
  7. Well I just created a simple mission with 6 tanks and it worked pretty well. So you need atleast 1 waypoint it doesn't have to be anywhere near the target area. It can be anywhere...then you can snowplow it and take targets out that way. It worked well, 6 out of 6 hits target destroyed. I'm yet to try the hud as SOI to find and lock a target. I will try this. It takes a while though...like you fly out from the target, turn around come back in...lock him up with the TGP, drop the bomb...go around again and repeat. Takes a while still
  8. I'm having some real issues finding targets through this targeting pod in the f16. Is there suggestions guys?
  9. Hey, I have seens Wags video and all the other videos on youtube...I can get it to work...thats not the problem and I've bombed targets fine....its just SP mode I can't get it it work fluently.. And is it best to go into f10 map...get the coordinates...make a waypoint before takeoff for the flight and use it that way?
  10. Yes i've used the SP mode but its a struggle. Firstly the sp button doesn't show up all the time...I have to press TMS in random locations and then just randomly click the OSB's until it shows up its annoying. FLIR view you say? I use TV so far. Will FLIR make a difference? What setting do I need to be in order for the SP button to show up? Point? Area? etc etc? And then how do you actually place the marker down on the spot you want? Cursor button left/right/up/down?
  11. Hi guys, So say you are flying around with laser guided GBU 12 and a coupple of armoured vehicals/tanks show up somewhere on the map. You dont have waypoints set up for their location. How would you use the targeting pod to attack these with laser guided bombs? I can't get the targeting pod marker on the HUD to be placed where I want. It just stays near the waypoint 1 which is the airbase I took off from but these tanks are just randomly placed hundreds of miles away. Please help!
  12. Thanks for the video, I just watched it. Its good but it doesn't answer my question about the bore mode for aim120.
  13. Hey guys, quick question. With the Aim 120 HMCS what is the bore mode used for? With aim9x...I look at target, hear the sound, uncage and fire. Thats correct right? What about aim 120? Do I need to put it in bore more or leave it in slave? Go to dog fight mode, lock target inside big egg circle and fire? A bit confused here.
  14. so for the SA 11 I get SDA (think) and 11 on RWR. I can target either of those 2? And the SAM will no longer fire at me? What is 11? That is the tracking radar? And SD is the search radar? Okay thank you for the explanation of the NATO systems and putting them in manually. That makes a lot of sense now. And one more question. Say I get RO on the RWR. Now looking at the Harm codes sheet there are 2 codes for RO. 201 and 205. Do I need to enter both of these in the custom table? How do I know what to do here?
  15. That makes sense. Secondly, in the 4ya MP server there are sams called HK. But these are not listed in the tables. So I have to manually enter the codes for these?
  16. Oh okay. How do you know the range of the target for the harm in HAS mode when there are no waypoints ON the target.
  17. Hi guys, has the new POS mode not been released on the steam version yet for the f16 harm? I am only getting the HAS mode.
  18. Thanks Bunny, so with the sa10 which should be the priority target? And also for the sa11? Why not just try and take out the missiles on top of the trucks themselves?
  19. also, after the sa10 fires 6 missiles. Is that it run out? and then its safe to move in an destroy it or ignore it?
  20. Interesting, thanks a lot. So is sa10 the toughest sam in dcs? Is there a top 3 or 5 most lethal?
  21. so taking on an sa11 or s10 alone in an f16 is a no go? How are people taking them out in MP servers in DCS such as 4ya PVE capture the base servers?
  22. I see, so TR is bascially what the sam site needs in order to guide the missile onto me in the jet? So that should be the priority target at the SAM site? Is that the same for the sa10 as well? Go for the TR ID 110? I can then irgnore the BB and CS? SA11 for for 115 ID? What about RO?
  23. Hi guys, quick question about the Harm. When setting up the custom tables, say for examle there is a SAM nearby with a RWR CODE HK. Now looking at the attached file, you see there are 3 different SAM's with the code HK. Do I need to enter all 3 of them in the HARM custom table in the f16? And if so, why? I think its important to understand the whys and whats. Is it because each of those 3 types of HK Sams emit a different radiation and in the WPN on the HARM radar screen you'd need to select all 3 from the table you have created for scan?
  24. Hi guys, I recently saw a video on youtube and I can't remember who it was but the person had automatic communication from awacs telling him whenever a bogey entered within 30 miles around him. Does anyone know how to set this up? Also, I saw Grim Reaper using voice commands. How can I set this up in an f16. Thank you
