  1. I haven't gotten that far in my quest for a P-51 pit....but like anything else...1)there has to be a way to do it the way you want it or 2)someones already figured it out and hasn't read your post or posted the way yet. I'm like most, I wont settle for anything less than having what I want in a pit, whether its hardware or software...IT WILL BE MY WAY!
  2. That's a nice looking throttle...am interested in learning some more about it since even a replica P-51 throttle is as rare as a unicorn and requires a Fort Knox size wallet!
  3. I second DigitalEngine's request. I started down this path a quite a few months back and have since purchased Stang's P-51 drawings and am ready to start building the tub soon. Im especially interested in your throttle construction. As soon as I save a few more pennies I hope to have a set of P-51 rudder pedals and currently in the hunt for a real stick or a one from an AT-6. A real throttle seems to out of the question since the few Ive found searching the net are rather costly. It cant be a pit without a few real parts!
  4. Looks like another great product with lots of promise from Virpil....now if someone would take on a WWII warbird throttle that would be something!
  5. Pretty interesting concept and certainly worth a few dollars and a few hours to see what I can do with it when it comes to a homebrew stick for the Mustang pit!
  6. I'm just looking at DCS as I already have P-51 and A-10 and intend on adding a few more to the stable, and my older CoD FPS games on my desktop. I'm too old to do the room scale hiding behind a chair, jumping over the back of the sofa, shooting from the hip stuff. Id probably bust my butt or puke on the carpet neither of which would make mom a happy gamer wife!
  7. Okay....Ive read everything that was said about the VR experience and I'm sold and will be looking to go VR in the very near future....what I didn't take away from this was which VR set was better, Occulus Rift or the HTC Vive. Anybody want to jump on that wagon and convince me which I should spend my hard earned dollars on?
  8. Pretty awesome stuff....am definitely interested in the SFS mods!
  9. I would definitely be interested in a set for my SFS...plus additional to make a homemade combo unit for warbird and jet....how can I make this happen?
  10. Damn....Im glad I kept mine safe all these years...especially since Im planning to convert and modify mine for my new pit
  11. Try looking over on ViperPits, the guy that built these was a member there but dont know if he still is or is still building them. I can vouch for these as I have a set of them, my only complaint is the throw distance, I prefer something with a little more movement but thats just my "hamster hands and concrete feet" talking
  12. Any updates to your progress with the P-51 items
  13. I have no problem paying for the info I need but want to hear from others who have used this service or purchased the CD off of Amazon that makes the same claim.
  14. I too am seriously debating going to a P-51 pit but have no idea if anyone has published dimensioned drawings or their plans for this. Any help in a direction to go would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Awesome stuff...have me sold. Looking forward to more
  16. Damn shame I couldnt find anything like this for the F-22 cockpit....I'd still be building that instead of a HawgPit
  17. Gee...this is making me wonder if I want to buy this stick....Im coming back in to the hobby after a long absence so have missed out on a lot of the comments and problems related to the TM Warthog. Someone please convince me I should buy one or go another route!
  18. Pure T Freakin Awesome.....got to add this to the pit....great work!!!
  19. OK...silly question from a nuggat....whats a Hempstick?
  20. Is there a scale reference to these just in case I cant find someone locally that can CNC these for me
  21. Has anyone done or thought of extending the throttle levers to a more realistic height. I have an F-15 Throttle assy and has an A-10 at one time and both have levers several inches taller than the TM. To me it would look and feel more realistic.
  22. As would I!
  23. The throttle is not an issue for me as I scored an F-15 throttle assembly several years ago on ebay and intend to modify and adapt it for my A-10 pit. It has a better feel and and the levers are closer to the correct height than the TM throttle.
  24. I too have been thinking about building my own stick and have been toying with the idea of several different set ups but had not thought of a simple box such as yours. Would like to do in something stronger than wood or possibly combine some different materials ie carbon fiber...pvc, aluminum and such. Do think I would want some springs, not for centering but for some feedback/resistance....will be watching for more.
  25. OK...too a little figuring out but looks like I have all the updated ones now....just have to import them into my CAD....thanks
