This explains those weird over overcorrections. Thank you! P.S. I will have a look at the external view as I actuate the trim switch on the ground to get an idea of it.
-
Ok, FLASH/STEADY works (I missed the sweet spot) but I confirm that GEN 1 and 2 cannot be moved to RESET. Maybe in a future update?
-
Glad to see it's not only me having issues trimming the jet!

I can confirm the behaviour described by the OP. Even if you settle the plane on a levelled flight (VV on the horizon), once you select BALT the plane will pitch up/down violently before dampening out the oscillations and levelling out at the engaged altitude. It is always a gamble... I'll try to reproduce and attach a track but from my experience, it happens after you've flown for a while (at least that's when I engage A/P).

Mhm...then my "zoomed out" view must be the cause. I have a 38" monitor and the default view it too magnified; I usually zoom out a bit... I'll try again with the default view. Thank you!

Hi all! A problem with cockpit switches: - GEN 1 and 2 switches cannot be moved to the RESET position - Nav Light is stuck in STEADY and cannot be moved to FLASH (not even selectable) Is this intended and will it be implemented in a future update? Thank you!
-
Hi all! Once in the cockpit, a Morse code DASH-DOT-DASH-DOT (letter "C") is heard even though the plane is in a cold-and-dark status with the battery off. Thank you!

Actually, you can display LOCAL on the HUD by selecting the appropriate UFC option after pressing the TIMEUFC OSB in the HSI page.

Map View only with Eurofighter - free Version
Tusky replied to SophieM's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
SophieM, stupid question maybe but it's the first thing that pops up in my mind: have you set the aircraft in the Mission Editor to Player or Client? There's a dropdown menu in the Object section on the righthand side which also has AI skill levels such as Veteran or Ace; Player and Client are at the bottom of the list. -
I would also add a SPEED and ALTITUDE (for aircraft) to the ME action. In your case for carrier, you may want to have your carrier's speed low while in transit (i.e. map constraints) but to achieve the correct WOD (both direction and speed - 25-30kn), you may need to accelerate the ship. The new action should take that into account. In hindsight, this is a very useful feature for mission creators in general (not carrier operations only) and I wonder why this feature was not considered...

Hi all! Could you please add True/Magnetic bearing in the Distance tool in the ME as it is now in the F10 within the mission? Thank you!

I'm running DCS 2.8.0.32235.1 Open Beta and I'm getting this error when I try to open Kneeboard Builder 1.9.0.0: --------------------------- System.ArgumentNullException: Il valore non può essere null. Nome parametro: path in System.IO.Directory.GetParent(String path) in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.BackupAircraftDefaultGroups(String _origPath) in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.LoadAircraftData() in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel.Initilization() in KneeboardBuilder.Viewmodels.MainViewModel..ctor() in KneeboardBuilder.Views.MainView..ctor() Any idea anyone?

In my opinion the option to set trimming "speed" should be included in the core DCS. Something along the line with axis tuning: a slider to increase decrease trim application.

Hi all! It seems to me that the nose wheel tire is more than low on pressure. It looks like it is dipped into the tarmac. Thank you!

The rule of thumb I use is: Distance to = 50nm-10nm = 40nm Altitude to lose in hundreds of feet = 30000ft-2500ft = 27500ft = 275 hundreds of feet Descent angle = Altitude to lose in hundreds of feet : distance in nm = 275:40 = abt 7 degrees

Explosion after landing happened to me, too: 1) I could not enable the NWS (this seems to be an issue) and I slowly drifted to the right of the runway when below rudder authority speed 2) I exploded once I stopped using the brakes (I might have had the right main landing gear outside the runway)
-
What was your landing weight? You probably were too heavy. Being at the correct AoA puts you at the correct landing speed according to your total weight.
-
The Parking Brake handle "sweet spot" is too small in my opinion. They could have made it a "click+click" input instead of a "click+slide" input.

Hi all! When performing autostart, the automatic checklist (upper right-hand corner) mentions "Canopy locked" without actually locking it (the canopy and master caution are lights are on). You still have to manually click on the handle to lock it. Thank you! P.S. I know that autostart is a big "no no" but: 1) For my first flight, I didn't want to go through the whole startup procedure 2) It is still beta, right?

Can't see how Air-to-Air weapons radar RSET button works
Tusky replied to imacken's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I am not home and I cannot verify myself but have you tried switching off and on the radar? -
Ah ok! For sure you've got former Italian Air Force pilots in your "contacts list" and this settles the matter.

Hi all! As a complement to the IFR hood, would it be possible to have a "Partial panel" option to cover/blank the ADI and/or HSI indicators? I know these are used in IFR training. Thank you! P.S. I posted this request in another trainer's forum and I thought it would be good to have this option in the C-101, too.

Yep! In real IFR training those are plastic covers that you can install on top of the instruments to blank them out and do simulate failure. Easy to graphically develop and implement, I think. By the way, I mentioned the ADI and HSI because those are the instruments referred to in the T-45 US Navy Instrument Course.

Hi all! I know that the MB-339 will be provided with a hood for IFR training. In addition to this, would it be possible to have a "Partial panel" option to cover/blank the ADI and/or HSI? It's a setup used in the instrument training if I am not wrong; probably it is used during the IFR training on the aircraft. Thank you!
