For people who went from G2 to Quest Pro. Aren’t you missing that sweet spot high res? I’m honestly debating sending it back and rather waiting it out for an Aero. I agree that colours are better, edge to edge clarity, much better performance, etc. but I really notice the lower res when looking at my gauges in the F14. -

My understanding is that the API is OpenXR even when you run DCS natively with Oculus Runtime. API first, and then Runtime. I might be wrong though. regardless, controllers seem to work in MSFS under pretty much identical settings. DCS won’t recognize my left hand controller. are you running Quest Pro with controllers? -

I was running SteamVR as I need motion compensation for motion sim and OPENVR MC was the only one available. Now that there is OpenXR MC I’d like to not run SteamVR due to the reported bottleneck. I’m not sure if I understood what you’re saying there. I can run Quest Pro without oculus app and oculus runtime? How do I that? -
Hi, I’ve been trying to switch to Oculus runtime from SteamVR. now when I launch DCS, only the right hand controller is recognized. Both controllers show up in msfs with same runtime. This is in MT version, open Beta, using OpenXR toolkit. Any ideas? thanks

I’d love some clarification over that too. I see DFR option in MSFS but not in DCS in addition, is anyone else having issue with DCS not recognizing left hand controller? This is happening since I switched to Oculus runtime from SteamVR -

Hi, im no expert, but I had stuttering caused by Winwing software before. It had to do with winwing software messing with some lua file. I had to tick a box in the software and after that the stuttering stopped. if you need more info let me know and I’ll try to find the thread.

That’s a bummer, especially considering I’ve put the order in xD well anyways I need controllers so the Aero is kinda ruled out for now (even if I could use generic controllers with Steam) -

Hi! Great reading this discussion. I would have a question to Quest Pro users - are you able to get dynamic foveated rendering to work with this headset? I know you can do that with the Aero through OpenXR toolkit. Hoping that’s the case for QP as well -
I fly mainly the F14 in VR. Altitude and speed gauges are completely fine to me. The only gauges I zoom in are the hydraulics when I check preflight, that’s about it. The only drawback compared to some other modules is that the cockpit does not have the same interaction with the controllers as other ED modules (F18, F16). Other modules provide haptics when you press buttons, as well as you don’t need to press the ‘grab’ button on the controllers to interact with the cockpit. In the F14 you do. Hopefully that will be changed at some point. otherwise absolutely amazing module and can only recommend!

Hi, I’ve flown Interception mission twice now. first attempt, I turned hot on the enemy when they were around 50 NM. Then we clear the sky, I get no further calls. Do the Case III but no mission complete. second time I waited with turning hot until my wingman did. We clear the sky again. I get the ‘strike package destroyed’ massage by awacs. Yet, no RTB call. Again, completed the Case III but mission is still incomplete. I can provide track files for both times as needed. Any suggestions? edit: in F14 (couldn’t get answer in F14 forum, MT VR thanks -
Hey! I’m on the fence of ordering it with the sale.. originally I wanted to wait until Black Friday. But I wonder what people think of this year’s VR lineup were expecting new Quest, new Index, which both will probably be better priced with foveated rendering. I wonder not only if they give a similar performance, but if they will also drive the Aero’s price down. Maybe worth to wait a little longer?

Hi, Played this mission for the first time. I clear the sky along the other F14s over bullseye area. I get no radio call to RTB. When I request a picture from awacs it says it's clean. I returned to the boat and completed a case III recovery. When I landed, again, no message that I completed the mission. In the campaign menu I get a 'draw' for the mission. I have a logfile if needed. Is this a bug? Thanks Edit: this is on Open Beta MT version with OpenXR

Yep some of the master tests are not fully implemented currently. Hoping to see them in the future

Thank you. Yes I did that, the mission name has changed and that’s why my progress wasn’t showing up. So I copied the rest of the entries from the old log file under the new mission name. Not sure why copy and pasting wouldn’t work. But when I did that, in game I got a message that I lost my progress due to some changes and so my progress wasn’t showing up. Maybe next I’ll try entry by entry Edit: thank you guys, I was able to edit to log file after all. The issue was the mission name as it used to contain an ‘SC’ that is now gone. Once I removed the SC from the name of the missions, my progress was recovered. -

So I tried to edit the log file. In game I get a message that Heatblur has changed the campaign and my progress has been reset. So editing the log file doesn’t help. So the only way to continue seems to be reverting to previous versions of DCS or skipping the missions. None of those feels right -

Hi, I’ve been stuck in that campaign on mission 7 due to the mission not progressing. Appreciate the fact that that’s been fixed. However, my career progression has been erased and I’d need to restart from mission 1. Any suggestions? thanks

VR controllers to handtracking with the push of a button

Hi, I have the Reverb G2 and I have an ultraleap tracker. I find that enabling ultraleap in DCS is ok to use MFDs, however it does not work well for side panels, and is very limited (just the left mouse click) when it comes to cold starts. For cold starts I find the VR controllers work very well and I don't mind using them at all. Now after starting up the airplane, it would be great to have a button that I can press that disables VR controllers and enables Ultraleap handtracking. Currently, I have to pause the game, go to menu, and do it on two different tabs. This breaks immersion. This would really make a difference when it comes to immersion and dealing with the limitations of ultraleap's current implementation in DCS. Any chance for this to happen?
