  1. Had the same issue finding Mother. Luckily, the built-in radio comms (which I’m not supposed to use) still work and tell my position in relation to the ship. Now I know to wait with that INS alignment next time
  2. Just finished Mission 12 - needless to say I had a blast! I noticed during this mission a couple bugs - initially when Paco taxies, his wing (which is over swept) still cuts through one of the parked E2Ds. No biggie just little immersion breaking. also, the other Cat on the left is parked in a way that its right wheel is almost off the carrier. Again, no biggie just thought would let you know. These might as well be DCS bugs. On another note, those fast boats gave me a real hard time! Tried to get them in two runs and then on the third I got shot - my flight hydraulics lost pressure completely. Now this was interesting to me - the controls kept working fine, and the BiDi didn’t seem to be doing anything. This might be an F14 bug, as I was able to fly home without any issues and without any perceived abnormalities with the controls. thank you again for this wonderful campaign!
  3. Just kicked off my career too. This mission is such a great intro and so much fun to fly! Can’t wait for the rest now. Wish there was an easy non-taxing way to record it. Great work!
  4. I’ve reached out to them recently and they seem to support DCS now. I haven’t found any reviews yet, waiting to hear from them if they have any. In the meantime I figured I’d ask if there is anyone with the G belt?

  6. Hey, I just did a start up after a 2-week hiatus. I was positively surprised by multiple things: 1) there is a RWR BIT that I had never seen run before. It is really cool to hear the sounds and see the visuals. This is from the pilot seat, just seeing how RIO ran it 2) The radar altimeter seems to have been fixed? I remember before when I ran the BIT, the sound came on right as I pressed the knob. This time, the sound came on after releasing the knob, which is how it's supposed to be as per my understanding. 3) The most exciting one! I noticed that the OBC master test finally was doing something. It was moving my stabilizers up and down, along with the stick. Again, I had never seen this test work before. A problem that I ran into though was that the two stabilizers ended up with a differential of up to 5 degrees, like there was some lateral stick input (which there wasn't). After turning off the test, and the autopilot, resetting the wings, the stabilizers worked fine. Not sure if the test is supposed to create that differential between the stabilizers? Overall, I'm really happy to see these changes implemented. Would we get circuit breakers at some point too maybe, as per start up checklist? Did you guys notice these changes recently? Or did I miss them for some time?
  7. Yea they don’t interact with the cockpit. Works for ED modules like F18 or F16, but I ended up reverting to my VR controllers. More reliable and I can use zoom function and recentring
  8. Could you let us know what are the criteria for overstressing the aircraft? Is there a G limit for this mission?
  9. I’ve got my third UNSAT on the LATT mission and my RIO said he wouldn’t fly again with me going to take the next 10 weeks (or more likely months) to get good at these mission. Very motivating campaign!!

  12. Hi, I don’t see any drop in the RPM when the engine is switched to sec mode on the ground as part of the checklist. It’s noticeable on the F16. Do others notice a drop? I see the nozzles cchange. When I test it I have the throttle at idle, maybe I should test it with higher RPM setting? edit: tested it with higher RPM settings and confirmed, no drop in sec mode

  13. What a great mission! Pretty difficult, I find especially in VR I have to guess where the explosive triangle or the radar antenna is on the other plane. Can’t wait until high res headsets and good VR performance will make it even more enjoyable. btw, I was expecting the issue with Paco and the tanker, but when I joined up on his right in parade, he separated and took us back to base. Positive surprise!
  14. Mission worked for me as intended. I did a full stop after clearing the active runway before taxiing to Foxtrot, so Paco had some time to contact ground, not sure if that makes a difference
  15. Thank you for your post , it really is so confusing. So what does it mean when in SteamVR the runtime is set to SteamVR? Is that OpenXR or OpenVR? sorry for making the confusion worse. I have a G2, and the only way everything works through SteamVR (including my motion sim) is if SteamVR runtime is set to SteamVR. I’m hesitant to tweak around it
  16. Hi, I was running stable version up until today. You can use the updater to update to open Beta, if you don’t want to have another full version the game downloaded. There is a forum thread describing how to use Windows Command to do that
  17. I don’t use OpenXR but use SteamVR Today’s beta still works for me. Although when I launch DCS the VR view is way above the menu. I have to recenter. Also, the controller bindings are not quite working with my G2 controllers. I have motion smoothing on in SteamVR

  19. Tried this mission for the second time. On latest stable version. Pontiac fires the TALDS, after that nothing happens and I keep flying between waypoints 2&3. Also, my wingman gets shot down by the SAMs as I’m turning from waypoint 3 back to 2. Not sure if that’s because the TALDs didn’t do their jobs
  20. Hi, just tried the training day. For some reason, Jester wasn’t finding the SAMs. I flew at different altitudes, level, circling, none of that helped. Then when I broke the hard deck just to see if the SAMs are there, they most certainly were I am on the stable version, 2.8. Should I download this updated file even though it says it’s for open beta? thanks edit: I had another run at it. Figured that when I switched to Jester’s seat that might have messed up the mission previously. So this time I stayed in pilot’s seat. Jester found the SAMs this time. however, when I get sent to refuel, the TACAN does not work. I tune to 31Y, tried both T/R and A/A, tried to have Jester tune to it, it was not finding the tanker. Radio comm with tanker worked (I was able to check in). Tacan otherwise worked when I tuned it to the carrier. When I looked on the map, I did not see a tanker anywhere. Bug?
  21. Ah thanks, I’ll try that. I think normally I engage the autopilot while still more than 5 degrees bank, and then switch the heading hold when bank is less than 5, but maybe I should switch the AP on only when wings are near level. I’ll check that
  22. I tried it with your method. I was able to level the wings one try out of around 5 with that method. My understanding is that bank angle has to be less than 5 degrees for it to be able to level the wings and hold the heading. For some reason it’s not working like that for me
  23. Hi, it’s never really worked for me. I engage autopilot, level the wings, turn heading hold on, and the autopilot does not keep the heading but keeps turning at a slow rate. I’ve looked in the manual what I’m doing wrong but according to it there should be no further tricks to it. anyone experienced this? Or is it a known bug? thanks
  24. Hi, I have the same issue. when reading around it was suggested to set a larger deadzone for the stick as stick input might make the hand disappear. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Any other options?
  25. Hi, I’ve recently got my leap motion set up. After turning the laser pointers off, I’m actually having a pretty good experience. Of course, rotaries are still a mystery. I’ve managed to turn them but it’s not very predictable. I’ve read some people have tried ‘Fingers’ app, which I haven’t looked into yet. How are people getting by with their Leap Motion these days? very sad about the fact that 3rd party developers haven’t implemented it yet, as i spend most of my time in the F14. We’ll, one day hopefully!
