  1. I´ve just started practicing aerial refueling, I make my own missions in the ME. So far I only have one question regarding it - I set the desired TACAN channel (ex. 55X) in the advanced Wp section, but in flight only 01X channel works, I´ve searched the ME and the forums for any other place to change the TCN channel, but I can´t find any :book: Not the biggest problem, but it would be more fun and realistic with more diverse radio use, and not 01X for every tanker mission. :)
  2. Yeah it was a real useful tool in mission planning, especially the diagrams. :noexpression:
  3. Have the DSC Wiki been suspended?
  4. You can also adjust the thickness of the clouds, to prevent light from coming in. Add some rain and some fog if you want - and of course low clouds. And if you try to land at Vaziani as Eddie says during these IMC I wish you all the luck! ;)
  5. I just had my first experience with turbulence yesterday. I was practicing some low level flying. And as I approached a large hill my aircraft started drifting down and I had to pull the stick quite much to prevent it from descending any more and slamming into the wall of dirt. It was nice - it really adds to the realism :)
  6. My longest since I started log is 01:37 h. It was a Navigation flight including all nav methods. Can´t wait until I start with some tactical flights, I´m sure I will make some 4-5 hours missions just to keep it real! :)
  7. To begin with I have to say I really love this sim, and I have nothing to complain about! I eagerly await the Nevada terrain and the next DCS module. I really appreciate the hard work the developers do for me and others. But there is one thing I am missing, and that would be more AI aircraft, new models. I wonder if the Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen or the Raptor will enter the scene soon? I am mostly thinking about the Eurofighter, since a lot of countries in DCS operate it these days. That would be a lovely addition in the future to bring in some 4 and 5 generation aircrafts - since they have such an active role in todays exercises and conflicts. As well as the Raptor as it operates from Nellis AFB, since that would be most of our guys "homebase" in 2012. :)
  8. Hehe I guess drugs don´t always come in powder or liquid shape :music_whistling:
  9. Jesus this is fantastic! Great work guys
  10. The CBU-97 is not realistically modeled yet...they are working on it - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78046&highlight=CBU-97+WIP
  11. Well there are few brakes that are stronger than a max-powered jet engine, instead you should apply 75% FAN speed, and when releasing the brakes, go full power! :)
  12. For all of you out there longing for some diagrams to calculate fuel, weight, drag, take-off speed etc etc - DCSWiki is your best friend! http://dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
  13. I also used this method, it works...for a while :( Hope ED tracks this Fu***ng bug soon and manage to repair it. It´s quite annoying to start the A-10 up for 20 minutes and taxi out to the runway exited and mentaly prepared for the mission...then BOOM
  14. Haha now I understand why it brakes so slowly during Emg Landings :music_whistling:
  15. The A-10 doesn´t have any parking brakes in reality, instead they rely on blocks next to the wheel, since this is not modeled in DCS you unfortunaly gonna have to hold the brakes or engage the Emg Brake.
  16. I had this problem on Vaziani a lot, and this video showed the incident at Vaz also. Anyone had this problem on any other airfield, or is this a known bug for Vaz only?
  17. If im not jumping the gun here this has to do with that Kutaisi has the "old" style of graphics, while Batumi have the newer graphic style. Most old airfields that have been around since Lock-On haven´t been improved. Correct me if i´m wrong! :)
  18. I had alot of problems with broken front gear before, but to disengage the NWS at around 50 IAS instead of 70 IAS, and to pull the stick back a bit to relieve the gear from pressure at around 80-100 IAS depending on runway surface, and keep it there until take-off has helped me alot, and since then I haven´t had any problems with the gear! :drunk:
  19. Thanks Wags, I had problems getting my profile as I wished for, but you saved my day :smilewink:
  20. Hey ED! I just discoverd while planning a mission in the editor that the Tornado skins have gone missing. It only reads ¨standard¨ and not the various squadron skins in ME, both for UK and Germany. So I took a look how they we´re while flying, and the german tornado had a bug, it has both UK skin and a small part of the german ID number. While the UK tornado had no faults (except the missing skins in ME). And this problem came up after installing 0.9 patch. Thought you wanna know, greetings from Sweden.
  21. Thanks for the good tips! Will definitly practice more on soft landings and not to push the brakes to hard after touch-down! I´m indoctrinated in swedish fighters with the short-landings, but as mentioned earlier there is a reason why the Hawg don´t operate from roadbases :smilewink: As for the crosswind the first time the gear broke I remember there was a strong wind (not sure of angle). But yesterday it was along the runway in 2 m/s. But I can agree that the take-off rolls have been bumpy, and that I should relive the gear pressure earlier. And for the third, I just learned to post a track file here, but my PC can´t look at them myself, any program that can be downloaded? PM me for answers for that since I don´t wanna go Off Thread :P
  22. I just flew three take-offs with the payload and fuel I had yesterday when the front gear broke. I always use this take-off procedure without exceptions...so does something look strange? Thankful for answers and feedback on my continuis flight training :book: Take-Off 3x.trk
  23. Hey I´m a Swedish youth who has some problems with the front landing gear during take-offs. It has happend me three times during the last six months that my front gear brakes when I´m about to take off. I turn of the nosewheel steering at around ~50 KIAS, just to be sure I don´t exceed 70 knots. I keep the plane straight down the runway along the centerline, whitout much steering from the wheel or the rudders. I start the rotation at about 120 knots, and of course I have the Anti-skid on aswell...but still the front gear brakes  I know three times in six months isn´t that much to argue about, but I´m picky and want to do it right! So does anyone have an idea why this happens and what I might change in my take-off procedure. :pilotfly:
  24. Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2,00 GHz RAM 2,0GB NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i As for the DirectX, I instaled the DX that followed with the Beta 4 during installing. (June 2010) version. On the other beta versions I had the visuall effects, but after they optimized for the beta 4, it is all black :( But the sounds, theatre view and the info bar on the bottom on the screen is there.
  25. Hi all, when im entering the flight everything is black...ive tried with different graphic options, turned on and off the HDR, MSAA, TSSAA and many more changes in the option menu. But still its only black when entered the flight. The sounds is on, as well as the text during practice missions. What to do? Could it possibly be my hardware, like the graphics card? I honestly dont know what graphics card I have, but it worked very nicely in the Black Shark and FC2. Currently Beta 4 is installed, the other Beta versions havent worked good, mostly due to FPS problems. But then I still had the visual effects when in flight. // GripenNG :pilotfly:
