  1. I had a ride with the SwAF Sk 60 (SAAB 105) before. We went both high and low - and we passed a Cessna that seemed to be stationary in the air. We did a fly-by really close in front of it...wonder if he was jealous :P
  2. I had fun in this simulator without TrackIR. But with it - I had so much more fun. So it is definitly worth the investment. It feels like you are more "in" the actual cockpit when everythings runs smooth. I remember that I did became a little bit nauseas when first using it. But that only adds to the reality doesn´t it? ;)
  3. I don´t know if flat tires are implemented in the Random System Failures. But anyway you got a flat tire for some reason - just as in real life.
  4. Swedish politicians have been very, very shortsighted the last 20 years. It would not suprise me if they think the Navy is superfluos. Here is the latest document describing the NG-capabilities: http://www.saabgroup.com/Global/Documents%20and%20Images/About%20Saab/Events/Farnborough%202012/Gripen%20presentation%20Farnborough.pdf Yeah the cost for a new version of JAS 39 doesn´t match up with the costs of the Navy. But it´s still very scary that politicians and supreme-commanders are this far away from each other in their dialog - that they have to threaten like this.
  5. And now comes the obvious question from me...any JAS 39 participating? :)
  6. Finally!!! The Gripen have been waiting for that radar a long time now. Let´s just hope our politicians want to fund this to operational status (E/F version). As it looks now the Swedish Armed Forces will have to fund it themselves - they have even been talking about disbanding the entire Navy...just for this Gripen upgrade.
  7. Makes sense that I need to talk to the AFAC, I just didn´t know this was possible in DCS. / Snooze
  8. Yeah the JTAC (on the ground) use a laser. But my knowledge is really bad on this area - cause I don´t know if airborne assets can give you 9-line briefings and lase? The MQ-1A is said to lase for you, but how? Do I have to contact it like a JTAC for a 9-line briefing, or could I just use LSS whitout any radio speech? As you see I´m quite confused :helpsmilie:
  9. Ahh so I have to use the AFAC flight as JTAC! Thanks
  10. Hmm I can´t get it to work, neither the Predator or the Hawg...I´m just begining to learn LSS, so I guess I must be doing something wrong in the ME. I did as Jona33 explained. But my TGP can´t find the laser, I even put the FOV over the target, but it still couldn´t find it. The AFAC A-10 first orbited at the assigned path, but after a while departed and started circle over the target - which I belive is a sign that it actually see´s the target. I put a group of 3 T-80 tanks on a runway I set up the AFAC flight (MQ-1A / A-10C) near the target area At the orbit Wp, I also set the FAC-assign group in AdvOp, to mark tgt group with laser When I fly, I perfom the Fence In Confirm correct code - 1688 Slave the TGP FOV over the target area Press the LSS (tried both on HOTAS and MFCD) Nothing happens, I can´t detect the laser, what am I doing wrong here?
  11. Sure I can do that. Result will be up tonight. :)
  12. Can´t somebody answer my question? :( I´m building a mission in the ME where I want an AFAC flight to buddy lase for me. Is it only the Predator that can do it? Or could I assign an F-16C (with FLIR pod) or an A-10C (with TGP); are they doing the job just as well?
  13. Ah man that video with the Mirage is...exreme! And some people wonder what´s so awesome with jets :D
  14. Where have you found this information?
  15. Is it just the Predator that can buddy lase? Won´t an AI A-10 flying AFAC lase for you? Or any other laser equipped ACFT..
  16. I´ve been on this forum looking around for about 1,5 year, and finally I see this thread! But better to present myself late, than never ;) Well I´m a 21 year old "boy" living in Sweden. I just got my first occupation as pavement worker. I did try to become a fighter pilot within the SwAF, but got rejected by various reasons (mostly my grades) so I´m not the typical well-behaved school boy. I´ve had my interest of airplanes since I saw the first airshow with a JAS 39 Gripen as a small boy - the noice scared the sh*t out of me! But since then I´ve been hoked! I bought my first flight simulator (Flanker 2,5) and since then I´ve just wanted to improve the reality even more of my "flying experience" and now I fly the A-10C. Yeah that´s me! Hope to see you all on the forums! :)
  17. Such an easy and nice tune to listen at! Love this kind of House-music :)
  18. Jupp I have the same feeling! :)
  19. Yet another funny cat! :megalol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4SSoWEw5CI&feature=fvwrel PS: How do I get the Youtube clips to show in the post?
  20. I just gotta share this - from the movie Due Date. If you do this, you are probably really mad for some reason...and no I don´t like seeing animals get "hurt" but this is funny for some reason :music_whistling:
  21. Well I would say ED have drowned a bit in these 3rd party-projects. We easily forget that ED just released the Mustang, and this month will release Combined Arms, while they are working on the Nevada terrain. In the meantime they support the 3rd party-projects in their transition to DCS. When ED officially say something, it has always been a definite answer - until then `everything is subject to change`.
  22. Jupp the TM HOTAS is my next buy also! I´ve just got a well paid job - so in a month I´m hopefully in the TM-club aswell. Can´t wait since I now fly with the Logitech X3D  I have no problems with flying smoothly with it...but the "throttle" should be banned from this earth!
  23. Ah yes now I undestand (I think)! So basicly: airmass speed over wing = Indicated Air Speed higher IAS = more lift more lift = flying Airmass speed could be retained from either wind or by engine power. No matter what gives you this lift (wind or engine) you could still be airborne according to the IAS...while GS reads zero. And stall has nothing to do with this! Since you can fly without moving as long as the wings are provided with a moving airmass. So saying that windspeed has something to do with stalls (which relates to another problem) is just simply wrong! Am I right now? :) @effte: Bästa nicket som finns haha! :gun_smilie:
  24. Mind if I come in with a simple question, just so I understand it right also. If the windspeed is about 20 knots head on: that has no affect on stall speed because it moves along the wing as if our ACFT would have moved 20 knots faster generating lift instead - and therefore has nothing to do with stall? Somewhat like flying with a kite, the more wind moving across the wing surface (in the right direction) the less of a chance to stall.
  25. Coincidence that the last pic of the Mirage has the danish flag painted on the tail? Or does it have a meaning? :)
