  1. Just tried the latest OpenBeta which has an update to add wind correction to the bomb solution. I’ve tested a few Auto bomb drops from around 10k feet and they were spot on. Not sure if it’s coincidence or this issue of accuracy is now fixed. Be good to hear if others see the improvement.
  2. I've been having the same problem on the Harrier and this is much better having followed the UIMask advice with Reshade. It's a shame as to get the "greenscreen" sensors looking correct I have had to adjust in a way that makes things like moving map a bit washed out, but I will take that any day.
  3. @Esac_mirmidon how do you do that? (I fly the Harrier as well and that has a pre-alignment option in Special Options, but I see no such thing for the KA-50)
  4. I'm going to bring this back alive now as this issue still exists. Has anyone found a way to resolve? I'm playing Harrier at the moment and my screens look totally different when exported. e.g. the white hot and black hot views are totally different and one of them (I can't remember which of top of head) is completely unusable when exported. Greens don't seem to get fed through to the exported screen properly in TV modes etc. From all of above it seems this is a known issue for a few years but no fixes yet?
  5. Ok at least I know I’m not messing it up. Thanks.
  6. I’m trying this on the instant action conventional bombs missions and tried Caucuses and Nevada. I start the mission, AG mode, set fuse then target something with either my TPOD or the TV. I get the auto bomb drop line and fly over the target to release my bomb. Every bomb drop goes around 10 metres past the target. It’s the same distance each time, very repeatable. I’ve tried doing the WP Inc hold after targeting but can’t see what that actually does, and result is the same either way. is this a known problem or is there something I’m doing wrong?
  7. Same on mission 1. I just started this and no bombs present, just the rockets, gun pod and TPOD. I tried adding a couple of single bombs but they didn't pick up on the stores page even through they were on the wings.
  8. I found somewhere else saying this is just expected so I will map my AFC off switch do also do a reset afterwards.
  9. I'm new to the harrier (loving it) but am confused by the AFC. I have a couple of 2 way switches on my Warthog throttle configured - one to turn AFC On/Off and the other to turn Alt Hold On/Off. When I turn AFC off I get a master caution warning and can't turn it back on again without holding the reset down. This seems odd as I have intentionally switched it off so why do I need to reset it each time I do that. Is this just how it works (and I need to map a button to AFC Reset) or am I doing something wrong?
  10. I have opened a ticket with VKB now so will see what they say and hold off on the firmware update yes as I'd rather run the fully released one unless they tell me otherwise. Seems you have found a fix that works though so that is good.
  11. In case it helps others… I had been considering buying one of the 3D printed detents from somewhere like Shapeways to have a push through afterburner detent. However, I found a totally free way. Free assuming you have some wooden skewers or toothpicks in the house anyway. Break a bit off and lay it in the slot where the detent goes and then put the detent back on. This slightly raises it and gives you a push through detent.
  12. I have tagged myself into an existing thread so seems this is not so rare. MCG Ultimate forgetting pro-trigger axis - VKB-SIM
  13. Good idea, will let you know what I find out as seems some others have the same issue, some others don't.
  14. I see my KD Hi and Lo are different. I have gone through and recalibrated so that looks better now. However, issue still exists. Plug it in with the trigger flipped up and buttons 35 and 38 no longer work. Unplug then plug it in with the trigger flipped down and it works. Running "Set" also fixed it but it's easier just unplugging and plugging in again. So there is something strange going on where it behaves differently depending on whether the trigger is up or down when it gets plugged into USB.
  15. Hello I'm getting some odd behaviour with my flip trigger. I have it configured as per the screen shot so that it is my master arm switch. I flip it up to arm and down to safe. Anyway, that is probably irrelevant as my problem I will explain just from the VKB software - flip up presses button 35, flip down presses button 38. However: - If when I plug my stick into the computer USB port the switch is flipped up: It "forgets" this and the flipping of the switch does not press any buttons. I have to "set" the config again and it starts working. Or I unplug from the USB and do below. - If when I plug my stick into the computer USB port the switch is flipped down: It works fine. Everything else works as expected. In other words - the joystick forgets the trigger flip button config if the trigger is flipped up when I plug it in. If the trigger is flipped down when I plug it in everything is fine.
  16. Oh man, that's a shame. At least I'm not going mad though, thanks for letting me know. I just started learning this module as I fancied a slightly older plane, but looks like there's no rush to fix it seeing as your post is a year old. Seems then it is somewhere in between i.e. it calculates some lead by the looks of it, but not enough.
  17. Hi folks. I'm very confused by guns mode in the F-5e. I've watched a few videos and am currently doing the tutorial on the Dogfight Guns mode, which I believe is basically the A1 mode. I'm still none the wiser In the tutorial it says different things which seem to contradict each other: First it says you don't need to work out lead as the computer does it, so you just need to keep the pipper over the target and fire. Then it says you do need to work out lead and fire ahead of the target. Then later it says you just need to keep the pipper over the target and fire again. Can anyone clear up how this is supposed to work? It seems from playing around (i.e. missing a lot when pipper is over target) that you do need to calculate lead somehow, but this seems a bit old fashioned. Even WW2 planes had a computer that showed on the HUD where you should be firing ahead of the target. Therefore maybe I am missing something. I'm therefore confused about what the pipper is meant to be telling me. I haven't got to A2 mode but I'm sure that will confuse me just the same!
  18. I've just started them as well, although I keep failing mission 1 because... Spoiler...
  19. I wish it was like IL-2 where you can just watch it back from different angles and skip around in the recording etc. I just assumed it would be like that when I started playing DCS and spent a while wondering what I was doing wrong.
  20. Oh my god, the thought of WW2 carrier ops in the Pacific with carrier dive bombing/torpedo attacks, battleships and destroyers filling the sky with flak, supporting island invasions etc is just too exciting to cope with. I wish they'd just announce these things when they were ready
  21. Haha, I did yes. But - that's only because I've been doing N22YF's F-15C lessons and that has a similar windy, low visibility landing test. I crashed in that one many, many times but the practice has carried through into your one with the A-10. If I was doing yours for the first time I would have no doubt crashed several times on that.
  22. I've done all of them now up to and including the foggy landing. So far all working well. One comment related to what we talk about above re: not providing key commands. In the instructions you call the gear light the landing light so that may confuse some people (e.g. have them looking around for a landing light command when there isn't one). Otherwise so far so good and looking forward to the weapon training. I like how you have used different times of the day to make it more interesting and added all the other traffic, also that you have the option of turning the gates on or leaving them off.
  23. I personally didn’t mind the lack of keyboard commands. I think it forces you to get familiar with looking them up, then you learn a bit more by exploring other commands and thinking about how to map to HOTAS. I guess no harm in noting the defaults in the briefing so you cover both preferences. I agree though that the radio chatter is very cool.
  24. First three missions completed and so far so good. I'll work on the others and feed back as time permits.
  25. I see the controls indicator now and I see what you mean by it having a forward throw by default. It's all working as it should be and I've ha a few flights now so consider this problem solved! Thanks for all your help MAXsenna, it's hugely appreciated.
