  1. Had the same when my Varjo Aero wasn´t turned on during launch of DCS. Both the DCS.exe and the MT version didn´t work, but i dont have the --force_enable_VR comand. I then found out that i can only launch DCS when my VR headset is turned on at first, since then i had zero problems. Kind of weird, because this didn´t happen before. Dunno why they changed that because it makes no sense......
  2. I put my stations in many different positions, looking directly at me. It doesn´t really matter how low or how high they are in the room, thats my experience. Right now my 2 stations are about 45 degrees left and right, about 9ft away from me and about 1-2 feet above the ground, sitting on a lowboard. Worked fine in all positions until today, never had connection issues or drops or anything. I think as long as they "see" you, its fine.
  3. Hey @Burt.....i think i missed something here regarding the Redshift fix Could you tell me more please? Thanks mate!
  4. Try "reshade"....i use it to optimize colors and contrast. Its not a game-changer but you can deepen the blacks aswell. Works fine but not 100% pefect like a proper OLED or QLED panel!
  5. Also for me, totally worth it. I would never go back. As for now, i think thats what we allways wanted in terms of performance and visual fidelity!!
  6. Definitely have the box visible aswell. Don´t know if it could be a special setting, in my case all graphic sliders are maxed out. NVidia settings only changed "Power mode" to "Maximum Performance".
  7. Yeah its not extremely present, but have been mentioned a few times here before
  8. MT + DFR with my 13900k and 4090 runs veeerryy fluid with maxed out graphics. Until today i didn´t even need to try Motion Reprojection, also i´m not locked at 45fps as i´m allways around 40-50 in heavy scenarios. Also the last few NVidia drivers did their best in my opinion. Do you guys also (still) have the visible boxes around the "sharp" area in DFR mode? Very noticeable at night but also during day when light changes drasticaly!!! Thats the only thing that makes me (a bit) crazy sometimes
  9. Mostly i use the "Highest" ppd.....only Marianas Islands i use the "Higher" setting. But to be true, i don´t really se any differences, the Aero is so incredible sharp and clear, you can run this on Standard aswell, i wouldn´t worry about that too much. Correct me if i´m wrong but i also don´t see amazing differences in fps lost when choosing "Highest" setting. Off course i know with this system it´s not incredible difficult to achieve acceptable fps. But every eye and evey human reacts differently. For me a fluid 30-50fps is fine if the visuals are great. As i said, i prefer visual fidelity and dont need 90fps all the time.
  10. I´ve got this combo, runs very smooth with and without the new MT. Me personally, i don´t see much of a difference with MT enabled, also didn´t try motion smoothing because i never felt the need for it. The only taxing map is Marianas where i see some stuttering when looking left or right, but i can live with that until motion smoothing, MT etc. gets perfected I should mention that every slider is maxed out in DCS because i love eye-candy graphics. Nothinge else installed. Beside the DCS.exe, at the same time the only running programs are the Varjo Base, Simracing Studio because of my DOFReality H6. No taxing processes running in the background......
  11. Yeah if one of the "Big Players" make the first important step, and lets imagine they do it perfectly, hopefully the others and some more developers will follow. By now there are so many other AAA games that use ETFR or lets say COULD use it. MSFS works not too bad, but too less people care i´m afraid.....
  12. I´m so curious what ED give us with the rebuild of the whole DCS-core system. Can we expect ETFR or maybe just plug-and-play for guys wo dont want to mess around with stuff like some of us love to do
  13. Do you guys mean eye-tracking with foveated rendering? Not available in DCS right? Or am i wrong? Or do you speak about automatic pupil distance in varjo base?
  14. No plans for that right now. My switch to the Aero was mostly because of the narrow fov of the G2, and i don´t regret it! But the G2 worked like a champ and motion reprojection was a dream in my opinion. Who knows what the G3 would have been if they continued. But thats for a topic for a different thread
  15. Especially when companies like HP step away from VR. As some of you heard maybe, no Reverb G3 or similar, unfortunately
  16. My motion sim-rig looks "away" from my monitor, so this should be a reflective surface, but doesn´t make a problem for me. I have a window behind me, so this is also no problem and doesnt act as a "reflection". So i´m pretty sure that NO....doesn´t really matter. But who knows what different surfaces reflect the signals of the base-stations. Thats something for physic-professors or developers maybe
  17. Back to the base stations shortly: There are some misconceptions about height and distance, had a chat with Varjo about a year ago. My right station 2.0 is placed about 3m away on a TV lowboard, 40cm high and ca. 1 o´clock position. The left one is placed about 4m away on a shelf , 70cm high and ca. 10 o´clock position. As long as they are looking at you and Varjo base shows them both, the height and distance is not too much of a problem, you´ll never need a 3rd one in 99% of the cases. No need to change channels as it is done automatically. Mine work perfectly in all VR applications and games, never hat 1 single issue. SteamVR position setup must be done correctly but thats self-explaining. Hope this helps
  18. Yeah guys, let´s donate @mbucchia and send him BIG THANKS for his effort. If you hear (read) this.....you are a hero for us Varjo Aero users Cheerz!
  19. So as we´re all talking about settings, setting up DCS and/or Varjo Base properly, can we also talk a little bit about NVidia Control Panel? What do you guys use for settings here? Any MUST HAVE settings and any to avoid? There has been lots of discussions if NVCP settings have ANY effect on DCS. Any news here, since mine are the same since i had my G2!
  20. So for me....not a BIG difference. But there is definety "something". When i fly WITH the mod, i get slightly motion sick (not really sick) as when i first startet out with VR years ago. When i fly WITHOUT the mod, i don´t get this slight fuzzyness. So in my opinion, when people say its placebo....it´s not. For me not a huge difference, but as many of you allready said, there is "something" but its hard to describe btw: just used the simple method from OP - not more! Varjo Aero user!
  21. @dburne same here Do you experience any differences since the last update (DCS + Varjo Base)?? What settings give you best results at the moment? Still tweaking here ..... Cheerz from Austria!
  22. Does it give us (at the moment) significant better results when running lower PPD and upscaling? Lets say for example with NIS or inside NVidia Control Panel? Me personally - i also agree with you @Supmua i prefer to play in higher res (at the current state) before we get motion reprojection, what i really hope
  23. Good evening pilots, since i couldn´t find anything about this, can anybody tell me how to setup a mission inside the mission editor, so that my flight starts with the autopilot engaged? Is this even possible, with triggers or advanced waypoint actions? Couldn´t really find an answer, and i´m sure there are many experts here Thanks guys for your help, cheers Peter!
