Anyone have hands on with the WinWing Black Shark Collective?

I recently read this book. It was light on details as far as actually flying the Apache. A lot of background and such on using it from a sea borne platform and dealing with Brit beauracracy. I guess I was hoping for something more like Ed Macy's excellent books. There is a book on Amazon called, I believe, Riding the Dragon, by a guy going by the name of Steve Stone. It is horribly written and I believe a lot of it is plagarized from Ed Macys books, but its only like 99 cents so if you are desperate for something to read with the Apache in it and can overlook really poor writing, give it a whirl. This is a completely different round than the 30mm round the GAU-8 in the A-10 carries. The round used by the Apache is a lower velocity round and does not have a depleted uranium kinetic penetrator like the A-10 rounds, so don't expect it penetrate the armor of a modern MBT. In effect, I imagine it will be much like the 30mm round on the Black Shark.

How are Hellfire loadouts usually set up? Are different types (laser & radar) ever mixed on the rack, or would they more likely be loaded all the same on a given rack? I presume mixed loadouts of the two types are not unusual? TIA.

I have a book on the Israeli Apaches and I have yet to find a picture of them with any loadout other than 2 tanks and 2 Hellfire racks. That seems to be their standard loadout. No rocket pods in use at all that I could find a pic of. I do hope we get fuel tanks and MPSM rockets. I remember back in the old Longbow 2 days the MPSM being my favorite weapon. MD

Me too. I do not like the system in the Hind. Jester may not be perfect but it is way more intuitive.

You get a pretty significant discount with a pre-order. Its also a sign that the module is almost ready....usually 60-90 days out. And it helps keep ED funded and working on things. If its a module you are sure you will buy, like the Apache is for many, many of us, the pre-order is a no brainer.

I am on the Open Beta. I get a hard crash (requires reboot) as soon as I click on the Heliport item in the Static Objects drop down menu. This was on the Syria Map, I have not tried it on any other map yet. It seems to be a DX11 shader error. Can someone else see if this happens to them? Thanks!

I'm all for APKWS in the Apache. Saying we can't have it on the AH-64D is like saying you can't have it on the A-10C because they were built in the 1980's. If ED doesn't include them, hopefully a modder figures out how to add them.

Why no APKWS? It would be a natural for the Apache. No mods to the airframe, just a different rocket.
