Mayday! Varjo Aero cockpit cursor calibration out of whack.
Mad Dog 762 replied to Mad Dog 762's topic in Virtual Reality
So I found at least one solution. I had to turn off OpenXR support in Varjo Home, and make Steam VR the default Open XR app. When you do this, you have to turn ON OpenVR in Varjo Home or you won't have any output to your headset. It works now. I have not tried it in MT thread yet, on my G2 I did not get very good performance in MT but I will try it with the Aero when I get a chance. All that said....the performance of the Aero is even smoother than the G2 at the same settings, and the visuals are much cleaner. I am very happy with it so far. -
Hi, I play DCS World in VR. I have been using a HP Reverb G2 for years and just upgraded to an Aero. I am having an unusual problem, I use the visible mouse cursor in VR to click on things in the menu and cockpit with the mouse buttons bound to buttons on my HOTAS. This has always worked well in the Reverb. However, in the Aero, it works fine in the menu's, but in the cockpit, the mouse cursor is "off" by quite a bit, and it does not even seem to be a consistent amount/direction. I have tried a bunch of things such as turning off automatic IPD and I have recalibrated eye tracking numerous times, nothing has solved the problem. I have moved my base stations to different locations as well. Anyone have any ideas? The clarity of the Aero is outstanding but something is out of whack with the cockpit mouse cursor!

I am having a lot of weirdness with the t-pod and designations as well. I am having the same issue as above with the bomb drop line being way off target, and also with designations being just plain wacky. It took me about 10 passes last night to get 4 LGB's off.

I have had several occassions now where my nosewheel steering just seems to stop working for no reason. Just nothing....low speed taxi on the apron. Anyone else experience this?

News on the FFAR variants featured in manual
Mad Dog 762 replied to TheGhostOfDefi's topic in DCS: AH-64D
When they were promoting the Apache, MPSM and Flechette were promised, but they are not mentioned in Wags "roadmap" so ????? -
I appreciate all the improvements and fixes, but somehow they broke the ground handling. Take off is a nightmare now.
-
I do not know what happened with the last update but the Strike Eagle handles VERY differently on the ground! It is extremely touchy and very difficult to not over correct. I increased my rudder curve from 20 to 60 and its still hard to take off!! What ever you guys did in the last patch, please PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS!!!!!
-
I enjoyed takeoffs and landings in the Eagle until this last update. (.42583) Now its a nightmare. Whatever they changed, I hope they change it back!

Everything from statements made about imminent release to YouBoobers getting early copies has led to a belief that release was just around the corner. To come out now and tell people July (maybe) is crude and a big slap in the face to their customers, whether it is ED's fault or Razbams. It is in very poor taste and not good business.
-
Right now it seems everyone who has a YouTube channel has a free copy, while those of us who paid for it are......waiting.....still.....waiting......

"We're getting close, here is a startup tutorial!!" ED: Hold on just one damn minute...... Really? Seems like we are headed for another F-16 style launch......
-
Mine is flying much better too, and its not due to MT, because every time I try to fly in MT it crashes on the mission load screen.
-
That worked, thanks! I wonder why in the input folder its Ka-50 III and in the Kneeboard folder its Ka-50_3 ? It would make life easier if they could be consistent!
-
I used users/DCSOpenBeta/Saved Games/Kneeboard/Ka-50 III and no joy. ? Works for my other modules so.....
-
No, I do not see two green crosses with IHADSS set to both eyes. I am not cross eyed and do not have double vision.
-
No duh? I did that. I tried both eyes. I tried the left eye. I tried the right eye. If I had a middle eye, I would have tried it. It does not work with IHADSS projected on both lenses in VR. Went back to right only and its back to normal, which is still not great, but not 300 yds off like it was in both eyes.
-
Recently started night flying. Anyone else used the spotlight? Its very weak! Not enough light to taxi by even. MD
-
So I wasn't having too much trouble with boresighting, until I tried night flying and turned on the IHADDS in BOTH eyes because the FLIR in one eye only was driving me nuts. I quickly discovered that with IHADDS in both eyes, there is no way to boresight worth crap. I tried closing one eye and that still doesn't work. I used to be pretty close, now it hits WAY off to the side. Any more progress on the proper way to do this??? MD

How do you adjust the brightness of the IHADSS in the CPG position? In the pilot cockpit there are bindings to do so, I have them bound to a rotary on my throttle. In the CPG seat I cannot get it to adjust. I have tried the controls on the right bezel of the TEDAC with my IHADSS set as the sight, but it won't adjust it. ????

Don't press the trim release to change attitude, it turns off the SCAS channel and then you have a wild horse on your hands. Really, it turns the SCAS completely off? As in I would need to go to the MFD page and turn it back on?

I just cant get the hang of this module (pilot)
Mad Dog 762 replied to Chad Vader's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I think a lot of us are in the same boat. I can fly fine. I can mostly take off ok but once in a while I have a hiccup. I am still doing rolling landings as well, and I fight with gaining altitude as I come in to land. But I only have about 12 hours in it so far, and things are slowly getting better, so I think it will come in time. I understand the frustration, I used to fly the crap out of the Ka-50 and could make it do anything I wanted so this has been tough. And as others have said, the module has a lot of improvement coming in time. Hopefully. The thing that really screws with my head sometimes is when I use the trim but then forget to recenter the control, and end up with the "dead" control and a chopper that won't respond to input. Grrrr. -
yeah, that would be difficult too. Best way is fly and shoot yourself. Well, not shoot yourself, but fire the rockets yourself.
-
I'm talking about firing them as a pilot. I never ask George to fire rockets.

I have been flying with my G2 at the same settings for the past year with nice smooth frames. Since the Apache dropped, I have had to turn A LOT of stuff WAY down to get acceptable frames. My PD went from 1.5 to 1.0 and a lot of other settings from High to Low, and its still not great.
