As the saying go, one track is worth a thousand words.

What about not parsing links/rich formating for the first few posts, prevents accidental click on spam posts, and for legitimate users is just a small annoyance. The reason for the increase of spam here i guess is the great ratings of eagle.ru on Google. When searching around on Google for HOTAS informations, this forum was always the first to appear. EDIT: They are using images now too, it will be great no not parse these too, so to not turn the forum NSFW.

Calling something a hoax because you don't understand, is bad, adding anecdote evidence don't help here neither.

I don't understand the logic in comparing theses sims. All three sims, that from Lockheed, the military versions of DCS, and the public version of DCS, have very different purposes. And it surprises me that some really find that satellite imagery in the ground better than the way it is done in DCS. It remembers me of the fighting games in the 90's using pictures of actors as sprites of the characters it is horrible. For me what i want is that cockpit but with DCS loaded instead. Perfect. :D

I don't think FC2 has that option. glenmeyers have you tried the commands i said? There is another one you can try, F1+'Lwin' If is not one of these then take a look in the manual, there lots of camera options and commands there.
-
Not sure if i understand what you want. Do you mean the head "jiggle" under G force or do you want the cockpit to became like a 2D cockpit like in Microsoft Flight Simulator? For the first one you can try pressing either Lshift+'J' or Lctrl+'F1'.

Not sure if i quite understand. Is that a way to skip the normal 4min INS align or is a way to increase even more the precision after a normal start? Can that help to reduce the chance of a miss during bombing?

The biggest problem right now with mine is the amount of RAM and the 32 bits OS since they changed the minimum requirement from 2 to 3 GB. And the slow(5400rpm) hard drive. Hope to change these soon.

They already say they can't model anything added after the A-10C version they model in the sim, they say they are not allowed. But i wonder if in the future they end up making a DCS module of another plane that uses a Sniper pod instead of Litening, if they could retrofit it to DCS:A-10C? :smartass:

Another thing i forgot to mention is to clear the axis that you didn't assign you self, ex: see if in the 'Roll' axis line there no other axis assigned other then the X65F 'X axis'.
-
First you said "I'd know how to fix this in MS flight sim", which means the problem is not exclusive with DCS but with the stick/driver part, but now you said it was perfect in MSFS. Look on the Saitek Control Panel, in the "Test Stick" tab see if the cross-hair stays in the middle, if not then you need do do what i said or try the calibration method said in another topic. On the 'Problem 2', you don't need to know/select the axis name, just click on the line with the axis you want assign(ex: Pitch) and the column of the appropriate hardware(ex:"Saitek X65F") click add and on the window that appears move the stick back and forth, click ok.

Me too, the closest memory i have to that is playing TopGun on the NES. :D A case of student beat master. -
You can use the Saitek Control Panel to set asymmetrical dead zones that will change the center of the stick and work sort-of like a calibration. One side effect is that it will require more force to roll to one side than the other. But if is too much and the stick is new i recommend talking to Saitek to get a new one. Here is a example on the X axis:
-
The ways DCS separates controllers( and mouse/keyboard/trackir/etc) is by columns, look at the top and you will find a column for keyboard/mouse/"joy 1"/"joy 2"/etc. Buttons and axis are only detected when you press then if you selected the correct column. You will need the drivers for the X65F so all buttons can be detected, the software("Profile Editor") is not that much necessary.

Well, i can sew(there's a machine in the house), but i don't know how to cut in the correct shape and size. :megalol: ... and one is a X65F but the other is not... :music_whistling:

Can you share the measures or mould you used?
-
Judging from these side-by-side pictures, i think only the force panels will be a problem if you have them fixed. http://www.simhq.com/_technology3/technology_174e.html http://www.simhq.com/_technology3/technology_174f.html RogueRunner from this forum as both HOTAS if i not mistaken, but i don't think he has the covers. :P

Anyone else uses flight gloves?

Joysticks for the Worthog Simm
Le0kong replied to pumafoot's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Look for these names for HOTAS: Saitek X52, Saitek X52 Pro, Saitek X65F, Thrustmaster Warthog, Logitech G940, CH Fighterstick & CH Throttle. Each as it shares of complaints and advantages. Sites like SimHQ have review of all of them, and by searching for the name of any of them on this forum you can find plenty of opinion of how they work in ED products. If you are on a budget first look for prices on your area for each of them, there no much point in looking through reviews and picking one to later find is too expensive on you area. -

A X65F too here. If it wasn't so hot here i probably will be using too. Another reason is that the metal in the X65F as that cheap Chinese metal smell. -
Oh, don't even tell me about the money, i'm very restrained about spending money, i always think at least 10 times before buying something to make sure i'm not going to regret later. It is not that buying DCS A-10 as a impulse buy, it's just that i went through the 10 times safelock part really fast, than later again with the X65F, then a Wii remote to use for freetrack... and now i'm already looking to get some pedals... maybe another monitor will be nice too... these MFD things look nice too... damn

They have released beta drivers with a calibration option built-in, but they broke the force settings(don't save anymore) at the same time. here a link for the forum post with information: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=19468 Direct links: 32b ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/beta/Saitek_X65F_Flight_Controller_7_0_4_14_32bit_Beta_Drivers.exe 64b ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/beta/Saitek_X65F_Flight_Controller_7_0_4_14_64bit_Bea_Drivers_.exe PS: They blocked new registrations on the forum, you can get a login via bugmenot.com for now. The amazing technical support from Saitek don't answer email's and now they don't want people complaining in they forum.

I haven't played that mission yet, but if i see a band of soldiers with M16 running towards my plane after i land, my first trought is not "Look, the mecanics!" but "S**t, i did something wrong...again". :lookaround: And to stay on topic... something i only noticed in Beta 4, the shaking of the plane like a earthquake, on very high AoA. On previous beta it only stalled one wing and flipped to one side.
-
Here is my current one for BETA 4, very basic. Just a note that i'm using Hat 'H1' as trim because a switched the hat with the trim one(POV). Included are the '.lua' file for DCS and the '.pr0' for the Saitek Profile Editor. I don't have Publisher so i can't make a graphic for it. DCS-A10-Beta4_Profile1.zip
