Was just curious on how long the user files usually take to be approved by a moderator. I uploaded a mission the other evening and it still hasn't been approved. Just would like to know what to expect as far as waiting times go for future missions as well as this one. Also will I be notified if I uploaded it wrong or if it is not approved?

I really enjoyed your mission. It took me a couple tries because I had trouble locating the ruins. They were very difficult to see even when I circled them for awhile. So I closed the mission to study where on the map it was and replayed. I really liked the running insertion. However the first time I did it, it went smoother because I got lost for a little while looking for the ruins and my gunners had some time to expend some ammunition making me a little lighter not to mention fuel burn. The second time I knew exactly where I was going and when in the LZ and in ground effect my rpm warning started going off and I had full collective pulled. I tried to reduce left pedal and even went to right pedal hoping to increase rpm and the only thing that saved me was the troops jumping out while I was spinning. :) I didn't trigger any mines either time in the LZ. Very fun and I look forward to some more missions. I love a good challenge with the Huey!

I would love to have more control over the weather around the map. I've been trying to use the dynamic weather for the Huey campaign I'm making because of hearing stories where clouds roll in in mountainous terrain and the helicopter pilot has to wait for it to clear or find another way to pass, etc. I was able to do this with the dynamic weather but for some reason the clouds disappear when they get near the edge of my monitor killing the immersion. Or sometimes they just pop up right in front of me then disappear again. I believe this is a huge part of aviation and really important in mission design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Battle of Yocca Forest (UH-1H Campaign)
DarkCrow replied to DarkCrow's topic in User Created Missions General
Because of track problems I decided to make my first youtube videos. I'm not the best narrator but the point of the videos are to show how the approaches are flown. First Approach: [ame= ] [/ame] Second Approach: [ame= ] [/ame] Third Approach: [ame= ] [/ame] -
Hey guys, I've been working on the start of a Huey campaign for awhile now and I'm ready to share the first mission with the community. First off I want to give a special thanks to Datek for providing the voice overs for me. I sent him a PM and a script and later that day he sent me all the recordings. He also improved the script by making it sound more military. I truly appreciate it. They came out great! This is my first full blown mission to release to the community so I hope you all enjoy and it works as intended. It is difficult, at least for me. To be honest I haven't even passed it yet. I was inspired to make some tight landing zone missions while listening to the audiobook Chickenhawk. So I made my mission in Nevada for the trees' collision models. My plan is to do a campaign one mission at a time because of how long it takes me to make them with work and all. It will include sling loads, troop/cargo transport and gunship operations. This mission requires: Complete_upuaut_Mods Helipads_Cargo_RaceGates_Hospital_M117 1.5.3 Ranger79s Mod Pack 2.4.1 The attached files include the PDF briefing, the mission file, and the zip file is actually a Google Earth .kmz file. Just change the extension .zip to .kmz. This will show you force locations and briefing details in Google Earth. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to hearing your feed back. EDIT: For some reason when I saved the Google Earth kmz file that I uploaded it only showed the FARP position in Google Earth. I just updated the dropbox file and the file attached to this post. Let me know if you can't see all the Army positions. You should see photos, the Chinooks Flight Plan, Artillery Fire Points, etc. all in Google Earth. EDIT EDIT: As far as the photos go in Google Earth I was just playing around with it and just discovered that they are just linked by the files on my computer so you would have to link them to the images on your own computer. It was just something I thought was cool when I discovered it and they're just the images included with the package anyway. So if you click on the photo icons in google earth it will bring you to the the photo position but the image will not be there. :( TT001 Briefing.pdf Yucca Forest Troop Transport 001.miz Yocca Forest Troop Transport kmz 1.zip

[Help] Question about randomization spawning

Yes, use a flag with a range value of 1-5.Then have the event set a random value to that flag. Define which commander spawns to each value of the flag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
DarkCrow replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
My comment wasn't meant to be hostile or defensive. It is true that price fairness is relative and of opinion. It is the pool of opinions that will dictate what is fair in the free market. However there are ways of doing it without trivializing all the hard work that was put into something. I used to play a sim that was subscriber based for 15$ a month. Some months you would get updates and others you wouldn't. I wasn't only paying for the updates but the experience while I played as it was a mmog. So I don't only look at how long it would take me to create that for myself if I could , but also how much enjoyment it will bring me overtime. Everybody has to make that decision for themselves. -
Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
DarkCrow replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway I usually don't comment on threads like these but this is just ridiculous to see every time a new type of DLC comes out. Just to clarify, I'm not a fanboy and in fact I will not be buying this because money is tight right now. It looks like excellent work though so congrats to you Starway. But somebody said he would have to work for an hour and a half to pay for this. Do you really believe that you could sit down in one and a half hours and create this? If you made only a dollar an hour could you create this in 15 hours? That's what trade is all about. Whether the value is there for you are not. The price isn't unreasonable just don't buy it if you can't afford it or if you don't want it. Also a free mod for textures could have the same problems as payed for in multiplayer as not everybody will like the same textures or will be using the same so that can't be used against DLC textures either. If we keep going this way of complaining every time something comes out who will want to create content for us? I'm not talking against genuine critiques. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I don't believe he was saying coordination wasn't required only that helicopters are not affected by adverse yaw. In an airplane when you turn left your right aileron goes down creating more drag on the right side so the airplane yaws right and reguire left rudder input. That doesn't happen in helicopters the same way as far as I understand. So the slippage will not necessarily be away from the turn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

in mission3- Radio does not work I'll have to check again when I get home. I did get messages, maybe those. I was looking for the AI response. So It's not the standard Interactive AI JTAC? Nevermind see it up in left hand corner. Probably mic switch issue atleast for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

in mission3- Radio does not work I flew some of the mission again last night just to test the JTAC comms and still couldn't get in touch with him. However I'm af work now and just thought about what I did. I used the key board back slash to key the mic instead of using the mic switch for AM :). I'll test again tonight. Question though. Is there an issue with SAM's showing up on the rwr after they have been killed? While I was picking off the artilley a SAM location was picked up by my rwr and I hunted the area that it was coming from for awhile and only saw one among the tanks that looked like a SAM and was already destroyed. I saved the track and can post it larer. Edit: Just looked up the symbol was an S on the RWR, so I guess it was an EWR. But I'm pretty sure ot was the destroyed unit still showing up on the RWR. On a side note that's why I love missions like these, it forces you to research and learn more about the aircraft and systems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome to hear Wags and Steve. I had already set the campaign aside to wait for some polishing after flying Mission 3 as well. I'm truly excited for what more is to come. The times and the Farms Alt is what had me confused going into the mission too. To be noted I was also late to take off time which worked out because I didn't have to orbit long to wait for SEAD flights to head in.

Same thing happened to me. I was wondering if I had a wingman at all until I heard him say wheels up long after I was in flight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

in mission3- Radio does not work I had the same problem in mission 3 trying to contact JTAC on 144 am from the briefing. ATC wasn't answering my calls either. I'm having fun with the missions though Wags ty. Briefings are amazing. Can't wait until I have more time to play them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was testing mission #005 again this morning and learned that the "Unit above altitude" condition is actually in meters and not feet so I re-uploaded the fixed missions here (fixed missions #005-#008 ). Hope to hear how the trigger system is working on others PC's so I can learn for more complex missions.

This is my first set of missions to release to the community. If the more experienced mission creators could look over the Trigger Logic and give me advice and recommendations so I can learn for future mission building I would be grateful. The missions are designed to practice gunnery on moving targets with the A-10C in various conditions to become more proficient at it. Each mission contains 10 Rounds of gunning on a moving target ranging for 15-30 knots either East to West or West to East randomly. Each mission has different parameters to add difficulty and different challenges. In each mission you must destroy the target before flying into the no fly zone (marked out by airshow cones also "NO FLY ZONE" IP), the target must be within the engagement zone, and in missions 5-8 you must be above 8500 ft when the target is destroyed. Each round will start in 5 minute intervals after flying to the Initial Point "BEGIN". After you have either destroyed the target or missed climb back out to IP "BEGIN" to prepare for the next round. The attachment includes mission parameters document, and flag info document (for troubleshooting and helping me learn the trigger system as I get in to building more complex missions), and 8 variations of the mission. A-10C Gunnery Games This is my first set of missions to release to the community. The missions are simple in concept but get more difficult to perform with each one. They are designed to practice gunnery on moving targets in various conditions. Included in the package are 8 variations of the same mission, Mission Parameters document, and Flag Info document to make editing and troubleshooting easier. There are a total of 10 Rounds in each mission that will begin in 5 minute intervals once your aircraft has been flown to the Initial Point “BEGIN”. Each round will have a random target ranging from 15 to 30 knots either from East to West or West to East. The targets that are traveling at 20 knots and under will have a smaller engagement zone than those traveling at 25 knots and up. Also, the target will be further in the “No Fly Zone” for each progressing round. There are some variations to each mission to increase the difficulty so check the parameters for each mission before flying them. I also had problems finding the enemy vehicles through the tgp in the the 3rd mission doing exactly as you suggested Baltic. I had to have my trusty wingman with super eyesight attack them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
