OpenXR Toolkit Tuning Guide (updated 21/02/23)
greyeagle787 replied to edmuss's topic in Virtual Reality
Just reviewed edmuss’s original update on this thread. With all the changes afoot I was wondering how my settings need to be changed. I’m running an i9 11th gen 11900KF with the RTX 3080, 32 G RAM. I have followed the “all the bells and whistles” section in the OXR tuning guide with really good results. My WMR settings have been “best visual quality”, ‘Best Quality” resolution, and 90 Hz FR. Are you recommending 60 Hz FR with an adjusted resolution? Any other OXRTK, OXRDT and WMR recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks- 688 replies

I don’t anticipate having many mods to manage but curious if this is still a viable App? I see many going to OpenModManager which looks overly complex to me. Wondering also, when I download a mod, do I copy the entire .zip file into my OvGME mod folder or unzip first and then copy in the contents? Thanks!
-
Got It, Thanks!

Sorry for my ignorance , but how do I know which config a given mod will go in?
-
So I need to set up 2 configurations for OvGME? 1 in DCS program file and 1 in saved games? Having not used any Mods yet in DCS are there different types that require the different root folders? I’m looking at a NVG unblur Mod, wondering where that should go?
-
Hey Guys, Never used a mod manager before and I have some confusion as to where the “config root folder” and “config mods folder” locations should be. I’ve seen some say Saved Games and some say in the DCS program folder. What are the correct locations? Thanks

Hello, Just started reading about the latest hot fix OB update. I use Skatezilla”s launcher for DCS and am satisfied with open composite, toolkits, etc. So I can still launch the same old way? Any advantage right now to switching to DCS’s native OpenXR? And if I switch, what changes do I need to make? -
Great, Thank You Andre, He got back to me almost immediately when I first emailed him. But it’s been 3-4 days now. Just hope he’s OK

Hi Andre, I have been emailing with Sergio regarding ordering a new JetPad. The last few days, however, he has gone radio silent. Is he just busy or all OK? Thanks

Never wanted to disable the axis, just wanted to be able to use it as a 4 way. Sounds like I never probably disabled the axis when I set up the buttons. Unfortunately am away right now so can’t test it. Like I said, my knowledge of the Virpil configuration software is very limited. This is what I did from someone’s hoggit post: In the Virpil software with the Constellation Alpha loaded: Go to the axis tab double click the Rx axis Check the 0-20 check box and 80-100 check box and click save repeat for the Ry axis click save to device and wait for the device to be reloaded go to the button tab In the lower left of this screen look at the button locations and scroll to the bottom Note the physical button numbers in the button assignment list select the first unassigned button and type in the physical button assignments for the Ry and Rx ranges for the first four unassigned buttons clicking save for each one. Click save to device at the top of the software. So should I still have axes function? -

Hey Guys, I’m kind of a klutz with the Virpil software but I recently used a suggestion on hoggit and changed the thumb controller on my constellation stick to a 4 way hat. Now I would like to change back to thumb controller (axis) or even dual function button as well. But I need some help and/or advice on how to do this. Thanks! -
I have the constellation Alpha on the T50 base and the collective TCS Base with the Hawk grip
-
Thanks, will look at that. Do I need to have at least 1 device connected when updating firmware?
-
So still copy saved games maybe as a precaution? Also, is there a separate update for the individual controllers in addition to the virpil main firmware?
