VR Mirror as scalable window / Option to toggle goggle overlay
Rufuz64 replied to Rufuz64's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Thank you. Yes, of course you can zoom and crop in OBS. Since the quality gets worse, you can increase the resolution of the monitor. Then you might get an acceptable picture. I have done all this: - Removed the funny black frame (what is that for anyway?). - Monitor resolution from HD to 4K - Hide taskbar (so that the mirror has some more space) - Zoomed / cropped in OBS (Made a workshop of this, link with PN) Of course setting the resolution so high costs performance and the whole thing is a bit ... cumbersome. And I don't think it's a professional solution either.... So why not think about my suggestion again? A scalable and resolution adjustable mirror would solve all this. Others can do that after all (ok Microsoft obviously not ) -
Ability to Check AI Wingman's Fuel State

Isn't it common for the flight lead to query the fuel state of the wingmen every now and then? -
VR Mirror as scalable window / Option to toggle goggle overlay
Rufuz64 replied to Rufuz64's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Here is another picture. With Discord you have no possibility to zoom / crop the image. Either you take the Destop and have no audio, or the Mirror, which then looks like this. Not very nice... -

VR Mirror as scalable window / Option to toggle goggle overlay

Do you mean this setting: Use DCS System Resolution / Crop to Rectangle? Have you ever tried this yourself? This is the result: I don't have an Oculus. And I am talking about the DCS Mirror. I have a G2, I tried Steam VR and Open Composite. Either the mirror is square or it has the wrong aspect ratio. So once again. A scalable window for the DCS mirror would be great. -
Thank you for this tip. I have installed XrNeckSafer, it works. Unfortunately, I have the impression that it stutters a bit. I will test it further.

There are a lot of comparisons between VR and TrackIR (or other systems), but that is not the point here. The idea is to combine VR with a head tracker. I know that sounds a bit absurd at first. But the advantage would be that you wouldn't have to strain your neck to see the six. The parameters (speed, smooth?) would probably have to be adjusted. So the question is: would this be possible? I haven't found anything on that yet. I fly with a Reverb G2 and don't have a headtracker. Maybe someone here owns both systems and can test it?

OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Rufuz64 replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
My friend has problems getting the tool to run. 1. However, he has the standalone version - does that make sense at all, since the purpose of this tool is to run DCS without SteamVR, but he doesn't actually use SteamVR? (or does he have steamVR in the background? I don't know, because I have the Steam version myself). 2. anyway, DCS only ever starts in 2D for him via the skatezille tool. I advised him to start DCS via the WMR interface, but there he has no DCS shortcut at all. Is it possible to create such a shortcut/app in WMR? Apologise if I have not read through all 1900 replies. I searched now for 2 hours but did not find any solution. -
Jedenfalls mal vielen Dank für deine Infos. Ich selbst war auch nah dran, meine 32 GB auszulasten. Jetzt ist klar, wie ich die Sichtweite erhöhen kann. Habe nochmal 32 GB bestellt

How can I set the IPD to "1.0"? On the special tab I have "Force IPD Distance" set to 70 Thx for Tips. -
I am happy for you. And I also love DCS! Unfortunately, however, there are it is marred by some problems. It may be that you haven't noticed any of them (could it be that you play flat?). There is a growing community that now plays the game in VR. And let's be honest: DCS is predestined for it! DCS does not only consist of jets, helicopters and maps. They don't fly by themselves. There is a programme in the background. And its architecture is what we are talking about. It is a bit outdated and no longer meets the requirements. It needs to be renovated and that has been announced to us for years. That's what we are waiting for. But it's okay that you don't have any problems and I also think your attitude is very good!

Thank you, but for me, unfortunately, confidence is fading. There is too little regular information about the progress of the work on the core problems. Before I invest even more money or even, like Jabbers, stop playing because I'm annoyed, I'm going to use what I have for now. After all, this has already cost me a lot of money. I will now wait and see what ED does in the next few months.
-
Thanks for the link and summary. That was 3 months ago again, but at least something. I would appreciate more info from ED regarding this....

Back to the topic from _two_ years ago. Riding the dead horse every three months. More and more gamers are switching to VR, but still DCS VR gaming is a pain in the ass for many. I have a G2, 2080S, Ryzen 5 5600 X and 32GB of memory. Still, I have an orgy of stutters every time I launch the game and only 30-35 FPS in-game - with reduced graphics. It's really great that you guys (ED) are bringing so much new content, but at these prices it would be really nice to hear something about Vulcan or VR support on a regular basis. Thank you in advance for that!
