  1. Yea silly mistake on my part lol..
  2. Turns out the problem was me — I accidentally set the AI to Immortal. Guess that explains a lot.
  3. Is it just me, or do AIM-120s seem to be doing a lot less damage than usual lately? I was flying a mission recently where both Blue and Red forces were AI-controlled. Blue had the numbers advantage, so I expected the Red side to get wiped out pretty quickly at medium range once the AMRAAMs started flying. But instead, the whole fight devolved into a massive dogfight. When I checked Tacview afterward, I saw multiple AIM-120s hitting their targets — solid impacts — yet the enemy aircraft just kept flying as if nothing happened. Has anyone else noticed this? Are AMRAAMs underperforming right now, or could this be an AI damage model issue?
  4. Hopefully ED considers making your mod an official feature so it can be integrated into the core game. Your weather effects are some of the best I’ve seen they really add to immersion and realism.
  5. I can't argue with the truth upon further reading you're absolutely right. They were stationed at Spangdahlem in 1973 and went from F-16s to the A-10 in 1994... I understand not changing the shelters but It would be nice if we could use the ramp at Spangdahlem for A-10 operations.
  6. I’d like to respectfully offer a different perspective regarding A-10 operations out of Spangdahlem during the Cold War timeframe. From all the research I’ve done, A-10s were stationed at Spangdahlem starting in the late 1970s, with units like the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing operating the A-10A well before the 1980s. Spangdahlem was an important base for NATO’s Cold War strategy, and A-10 operations there were a critical part of the defensive posture for West Germany. I understand the intention behind the map’s time period and design choices, but I do feel it’s important to represent that part of history accurately. Historically, shelters capable of housing A-10s did exist once the aircraft were operating there. As someone who primarily flies the A-10 in DCS, it’s honestly disappointing not to be able to fly out of Spangdahlem, knowing how significant that location was for A-10 operations during the Cold War. I completely respect the effort and attention that went into building the map, but I do hope this aspect might be reconsidered — in a future update. I say all of this with complete respect for the developers and the hard work they’ve put into the project.
  7. Yes please do fix this as being able to fly out of Spangdahlem was a big buying point for me being that Spangdahlem was a historic base for A-10 operations...
  8. Until ED gets a chance to fix the issue a work around fix is if your flying and you get a unexpected drop in pitch slow down to under 200 KIAS then drop the gear and once the gear is fully down press the takeoff trim button then bring the gear back up and that should neutralize the issue so you don't get that insane pitch up as you come in to land.
  9. I found the video on YouTube put in (F-15E Bagram Airbase landing cockpit view)....
  10. There's a video on YouTube from the HUD of a F-15E doing the tactical approach at bagram I don't remember what it's called but if you search it out you should be able to find it, the approch is definitely higher than mover showed he probably was trying to avoid demonstrating military tactics but you got to figure the main thing is to come in above manpad range. On the paid portion of The Graveyard of Empires site he actually has a good video of the maneuver. I can't speak to your financial situation but if you can afford it I think his pateron is worth it. He has a ton of material on there if your a nut like I am for realism in regards to the Afghanistan map...
  11. The Graveyard of Empires Patreon has a whole thing on tactical approaches and departures for Kandahar Airfield you should check it out, his stuff is really solid I'm in the A-10 I do my approaches at (KAF) between 250 to 300 KIAS 13,337 ft MSL break a little past mid field speedbrakes out power at idle for a 30 degree dive and pull out for downwind at 4,900 ft then at the perch I extend my gear and flaps as I'm turning onto final, for a normal overhead I'd drop the gear and flaps once established on down wind however with this approach your energy is still high by the the time your at the perch but it's easy to bleed it off on the final turn and I'll make the turn at 5 degrees nose low so I'll be set up for a steeper final approach than normal just to get the jet on the ground as quickly as possible..
  12. We Definitely need some more skins for the A-10. Even the community skins are kind of lacking although there are some really good ones we don't seem to get as much love as the F-16 and F-18s from modders lol, although I'm biased towards only liking real world squadrons I don't personly care for fictional skins but I'm not knocking anyone who does it's just isn't my thing. hopefully with the new pilot body we can get some more skins and proper patches...
  13. I agree. It would be nice to get the proper patches for them as well.
