Interactive Traffic Pattern Trainer 1.0beta
Laud replied to Geskes's topic in User Created Missions General
You should consider the difference between entering a pattern vom outside of the control-zone (i.e. RTB from a mission) and flying multiple patterns for training purposes. When you RTB into the pattern your speed may be 300kts in the downwind-leg, but steadily decreasing. When you take-off to enter the pattern, you will most likely not be able to climb to pattern altitude, turn into the downwind and accelarate to 300kts before you need to turn into base and final. We did already some testings on this, according to our squadron internal pattern-procedures (very much like the pattern illustrated in Dash1 and the A-10C-Manual). something between 200 and 250kts (depending on weight) and an altitude of 1500ft+field elevation, can be considered as a realistic number (as with BETA3 FM). If an aircraft enters the pattern from outside of the control-zone (via Entry Point), it has to take other aircrafts position, height, speed and intention into account, when setting up his aircraft to join the pattern. You see, that this whole pattern-thing is a little bit dynamic at some stages. @Geskes: If you like, we can set up a date and time, so we (a bunch of the vJaBoG32) and you can go for some pattern-training according to our docs and procedures. Best hop into our forums and drop us a line there. Just open a thread HERE. You're of course free to post in english! -

BETA 4 solls richten.

You guys are for sure on the very outer edge of the forum rules' legal side... :music_whistling: :D

Once again, so that everybody understands what this is all about: The website was "rescued" by golfsierra2. He's not the initiator or owner of the contents, just the one who gave it a new home so it won't disappear. When he now asks if anybody is further interested, he doesn't try to advertise HIS website/forums. He just wants to know if it needs to be kept "rescued" or not. I hope everybody understands now what the motivation of this thread was/is. Felt the need to clear this up, while watching the discussion here...

As a side note: It had the same "ugly" design when it was very active back in the days. So the reason why it got calm over there must be somewhere else. Of course a redone design would maybe attract new members to join.

In the end it's a matter of taste and interest, so it's pretty pointless to discuss WWII vs. Present-Day-AC...

The fuel flow switches appear as toggles while I need them in "on" and "off" states for a propper TARGET-Mapping. I'll have a look at it. TY!

Hey slimakwielki, would that also work for the fuel flow switches and stuff? I mean are there ALL necessary functions which are (in parts) missing at the in-game options???

Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Argh... For the moment I give up on this... The Flip-Switches which are assigned with only one DX-Button will not survive an alt-tab out and back into the game. Doesn't matter wether they're set up as "Hold"- or "Press/Release"-Buttons. However: As long as you stay in the game everything works fine. Maybe it will change with further builds of the Sim, as it seems like DCS somehow generates a change of state of the switches where it's not meant to do that. -
Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Cool, looks like I found the problem! It' not caused by any alt-tab issues of DCS. It's because the flip-switches on the throttle-base need to be configured as "pulse" instead of "hold". I'll do a re-work on the profile, test it and then upload it here again. -
Use TARGET to assign single switches

Except the described issue with TARGET I NEVER had any issues with alt-tabbing! We also still use TS2 but I don't really get what you did to make it work!?? -
Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looks like we were a bit too early with beeing happy with this solution... Today I figured that if you alt-tab out of the game and then return a handful switches will flip to positions they're not meant to be at. Seems to make no difference wether you chose the sync-option for the TMW or not. This sucks!!! -
Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That's the main Problem with using TARGET. The only way to go with both devices in a TARGET-Profile is to map the whole thing within TARGET mapping keyboard-presses. Let's hope there will be a future TARGET-Release which makes it possible to handle both devices as individuals. -
It's the FLIGHT-Manual. The GUI-Manual is not yet available.

Join a virtual squadron! They do stuff like that each day... even with multiple aircraft within the pattern! :joystick: -

No problem mate, it took only 15 minutes. -
Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
HERE is a blank profile for the Stick alone. To get a blank Throttle profile, just remap the MicSwitch with DX-Buttons. You'll find the assignment in the printed manual of the HOTAS (p.4+5 (english section)). Remember: This workaround will not work if you want to assign custom keys to both Stick and Throttle. You have to choose one, else you would have to map the whole system in-game or with TARGET manually! -
Use TARGET to assign single switches
Laud replied to Laud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The profile was made by JaBoG32_Woodstock. I'll ask him for a blank stick-profile. If you want to try it yourself, the DX-button-assignment can be found in the small manual that came with your HOTAS. -
As promised here's the tutorial how you configure single switches with TARGET while keeping other buttons default mapping in DCS. First use the attached TARGET-Profile as a sample (you can modify it or create a new one according to your needs). SAMPLE PROFILE When you open the profile you can see, only the Throttle is embedded in this profile. Then, on the next window, you will see the mapped buttons, while all other buttons are mapped as default DX-butons. Thats quite important! You will also notice that the modified buttons are mapped, using two layers. Leave the "Edit configuration" and run the profile! It should then look like the picture below. Now start DCS:A-10C! Go to Options->Controls! You should find a column called "Thrustmaster Combined" (see picture below). Click into a field within this column. Now the "Load Profile"-Button should be highlighted (see picture below). Click it and then load the deafult TMW-Throttle lua-file (see picture below)! Now everything should work like the default Plug&Play configuration, except for the switches you mapped with TARGET. Hope this helps!

Laud replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Unfortunately we're NOT talking about pictures anymore, we're talking about attitude. And this is my very last post on this OT. I promise... :smilewink: EDIT: Takashi and I removed our OT-Posts. Things are cleared up by PM.
