OK, I see the problem. TY for explaining!
-
Strange they don't implement some kind of G-Limiter, maybe one that is linked with pilots vital signs...
-
Agree! Multiplayer 2-seater would be a whole new and for sure a great experience!
-
Good to hear! You know, there're always the same issues with non-coding folks: 1. They think of some tasks beeing more simple than they are 2. They think of some tasks beeing more complicated than they are :D
-
If it's all that simple I strongly recommend to think about why they put two guys in the aircraft, when one can do the job... How will you switch to the backseat while you're maneuvering offensive/defensive???? ...and vice versa: How will you switch to the pilot seat to maneuver the aircraft while you're operating the radar/weapon-systems???
-
I don't read between the lines. I just tried to point out why I think it's complicated to do a 2-seater. You said they could do one. So I asked if they already thought about possible obstacles of that task. Don't worry, I'm not one of those who will follow with "it will be a mudhen then!!". Just a straight question.
-
So there are already concepts how to handle the issue(s) I mentioned?
-
I like the attitude which can be read between the lines here: The people value the work of ED, but less the information flow. That is fair and constructive, I think. Also the guys make the best out of it and have fun posting crazy stuff in this thread. I really enjoy reading here while waiting! Keep it coming guys! :)

I really really like the idea of flying a 2-seater combat aircraft online. The only point that might be frustrating with a multiplayer 2-seater would be that if one of them two has a disconnect the other one would be messed up too. It's like your pilot/backseater suddenly dies. The only solution for this would be an AI automatically kickin in to fill the gap (plus giving you the possibility to chose which seat you want to take and which seat the AI should fill), which sounds kind of complex to code.

You're right! I posted the pics and a short comment about the weathering on ARC. But to be honest: Your builds are way better then mine. It's like I said: The weathering gives that OMG-touch! Try!!! It's more simple than it looks. You just simulate something getting dirty. That's easier than trying to have it really clean (like in real life ;) ). EDIT: Find the whole "in-progress"-thread here.

Although I posted the pics in my research-thread, I thought I repost them here in the dedicated thread so they become a part of our collection here. My Revell 1/48 F/A-18F VFA-103:

Great job Jinja! But I often notice that guys who have the skill to build very acurate seem to be a bit scared when it comes to weathering. Both aircraft would be even more outstanding if they would look like they were actually used. The brand-new-look make them look more like a model than an original. Dirt and wear give them the final touch and making the audience think "hell is that a picture of the real aircraft?". But leaving this weathering topic aside: Excellent! Really great!!! I'm desperately waiting for the weather getting a bit warmer again, so I can finish my Eurofighter and then start with my beloved F-14B VF-103. Can't wait...

1:500000 printable DCS/FC2.0 Tactical Chart (WIP)
Laud replied to igormk's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hey igormk, I sent you some PMs a few months ago, but didn't get an answer. Did you get them? -
Love 'em or not: In the end there needs to be an option wether you want to fly with or without them. Especially for MP-Community. Imagine you meet with about 10 guys, do a large 45 minute briefing, spool the aircraft, taxi, takeoff, 45minutes enroute and BANG! critical failure... RTB or even worse EJECT. That is a safe way to get people pissed off intensively. It's simply one of those point which are realistic but not really neccesary for a flight sim (just like the air condition)... My 2 cents..
-
Great! AFAC addition to the A-10C... :D

There's a thread somewhere here, where squads introduced themselves. I don't know in which sub-forum it is exactly and it might also not be up to date, but maybe a point start with.

For sure way less than in regions like europe, asia, ... But enough OT now from my end.

The flightplan for a multiple JDAM run is useful when you have for example 10 markpoints, but you want to engage just 4 of them. You'll get busy, switching around and look for those you want to attack. So take those 3 minutes to turn away, put your 4 targets into a flightplan and kick their a$$es. Flightplan editing in general is useful, when you are provided a lot of WPs but you only need some of them, or you want to have them in another sequence than provided by default. So the basic functions like WP programming/editing, flightplan programming/editing, markpoint usage, weather & frequency information is not too hard to learn (and to find specifically in the manual). For me it's a great feature to have and I really like to use it. Same goes for most of my squad-mates.

Use the Nevada terrain if you want some boring desert... ;) Terrains with woods, cities and stuff would be way more fun. The falcon series chose some very nice areas (former Yugoslavia, Korea).
-
LOL! Which nation would need a F-86 simulator??? Same goes for the AH-64A... Most of them get upgraded to "D"s, aren't they? Chances for any Block of the F-16 sound more likely. In the end it will be something weird, I bet. DCS:L-39 or something like that...
-
I hope you didn't really needed a 186 pages long thread to find out! ;)
-
Both, I'd say. Depends on your mission. Some classic CAS missions will give you a lot of freedom how you manage to save your buddies a$$es on the ground. On other occasions you might have to consider fixed ingress/egress routes, min. safe altitudes, timings (when to be there and when to be gone again). When moving around airbases you will always have to stick to ATC or uncontrolled procedures, to deconflict with other traffic around.
-
It is indeed fun, but some might wonder how much time of the squadron-training is spent with procedures and comms and how little time with dropping ordnance.
-
It is a multimillion $, weapon carrying millitary aircraft. It has to interact and incorperate with lots of other allied aircraft over a battlefield. For the sake of safety and timing, I'm quite sure it's meant to be flown according to something like a plan. ;)
