  1. Thank you BBQ for all your effort. I really enjoy your missions.
  2. Sorry I'm not near my rig, but I would strongly advise you to start clean. I know you hate to loose your control settings, but I think there is too much changes between 1.1.0.1 and 1.1.0.9 to keep your existing profile. I may be totally wrong, so try it without, then if it fails, then backup or rename your previously referenced folder and try it clean. The folder I referred to in my previous post contains your control settings divided by controller type. It also has the pilot log in another folder who's name escapes me.
  3. Izoul, did you install the 1.1.0.9 full install or did you patch your 1.1.0.1? I suggest you do the full 1.1.0.9 full install, but first backup or rename, your C:/users/your name/saved games/DCS A-10 Warthog folder. then delete it. then do the 1.1.0.9 full install and set up your controllers and settings again.
  4. "H" is for Hung Store.
  5. If I may ask, are you flying without the TGP by choice? The reason I ask, is because the TGP in my opinion, is one of the most valuable tools I have at my disposal on the airframe.
  6. First off, welcome to the Forums splitter! Well for starters, they both are generated by the Targeting Pod (TGP). The laser is used to guide laser guided bombs to their target. The laser is also used for range finding by TGP, which helps the onboard ballistic computer (IFFCC) a more accurate range to target. The IR pointer is an Infrared beam that can only be seen through IR goggles, and it can be used at night to help direct the view of friendly pilots or ground forces to the location of an enemy target or location like a building.
  7. It's all relative.
  8. Tusler, before you reinstall Win7, go into your trackir profile for DCS A-10C Warthog and look at the Profiles tab. On the Profiles tab page at the top is a section called HotKeys. In there is a drop down box with Trackir functions and the key associated with that function is listed in the box marked Key. Look through all the functions in the dropdown box and see if any of the functions have the F8 key bound to them. If there is one that has the F8 key bound, then you want to make sure to uncheck the TRAP box. (TRAP keeps the F8 key from being used in any other program except Trackir when it is running) With the F8 untrapped, go back and try the sim. If F8 is mapped to something you have to have available, then you can remap it to another open key like scroll lock, or the multiplication key on the keypad.
  9. Very happy for you.
  10. Correct.
  11. First a few questions..... What are your card fans set to? What are your card's temps at while running the sim? What power supply are you running all those cards on? Here is what I am doing, maybe it will give you some ideas of what to try. I am running 2 GTX 580's in SLI with a resolution of 1920X2280. I run the sim on one monitor and HELIOS on the 2nd monitor. I run my Nvidia profile for DCS Blackshark with SLI rendering mode set at Force Alternate frame rendering 2. (This causes the clouds to flicker sometimes) I am using driver 275.33 Both my active monitors are running out of the card closest to the CPU. Mirrors off; 1024 every frame; TSAA ON; HDR ON: Water low; cockpit shadows ON; everything else on HIGH; Bushes set to 0;
  12. Also, those of you that are using WinXP and Vista in a 32 bit environment, I would encourage you to make switching to Win 7 64 bit a priority. The difference is profound, and I think you will be glad you made the upgrade.
  13. Win 7 Professional has a feature where you can run any program requiring an XP environment by using the Virtual Machine. The Virtual Machine runs XP in a virtual environment (sandbox), all from the desktop of your Win 7 OS. I have found however, that I have only needed to use it once, as all the other legacy XP/Vista 32 bit programs I have had no trouble running in Win 7 64 bit.
  14. Here is the YouTube vid showing my interaction with the Ground Crew via the Intercom Panel. The volume came out very low, so please crank up the volume, sorry about that.(don't forget to turn your volume back down when your done!):shocking: Also, there is some fun cloud flickering due to my SLI settings, so if you want a seizure, just stare at them. I recommend viewing in as high a resolution as you can, and maybe watch it at YouTube instead of the embedded video here.

  16. So, to continue with Viper's line of thinking.....Once you make your desired target set as a SPI, then the ballistic computer will show you an adjusted azimuth steering line to your newly created SPI. You can see which sensor is your current SPI designating sensor by looking in your HUD, at the data block in the bottom left corner of the HUD. In that data block, at the bottom, there will be a STP if your SPI is currently set as the default at a steerpoint. If you are using your Targeting Pod to designate your target as a SPI, there will be a TGP in the bottom line of the left data block. Likewise for the TAD, or the HUD. You can also look at your TAD for the wedding cake symbol. This wedding cake symbol shows where your current SPI is located. It is a 3 tiered cake. A 2 tiered cake indicates a SPI from your wingman. Also, if you are using your Targeting Pod (TGP) to acquire your target, you will see a small diamond symbol in your HUD showing where your TGP is looking. Once you set a TGP target as your SPI, the diamond symbol in the HUD will have a "tail" or short oblique line coming off it to show that it is the current SPI. Hope this helps.
  17. Welcome to... (in my humble opinion), the highest fidelity combat flight sim on the market. This is a great community, glad your here.
  18. I just ran the Freeflight-Blacksea-Ramp Start and made a Youtube vid showing my steps for Ground Crew Interaction via the Intercom Panel. Once the video finishes uploading, I will post it here.
  19. Which mission are you testing this on Tusler?
  20. All Intercom knobs are set by default to their ON setting. I do not use Easy Comms, so I can only speak for Realistic Comms. Follow Paulrkii's post above to contact ground crew. There should be a hash mark on the Intercom Panel plate at the 12'oclock of the Rotary Select Dial to indicate the dial's current setting (this omission has been reported) so, until the hash mark is put in there, use the 12'oclock position to aid you in knowing which setting you are in. Remember if you do switch to Intercom (INT) on the Rotary Select Dial to talk to the Ground Crew, dont forget to switch it back to VHF to resume normal radio comms. Page 154 in your Flight Manual covers the Intercom Panel and it's buttons.
  21. Just wanted to encourage those going from one version DCS A-10C to a newer version, to try these tips to avoid potential problems: As always, it is a good habit to backup any folders that you may want to save, like the one in C:Users/Your Name/Saved Games/DCS Warthog. ( I personally advise renaming it by adding "1108" for example to the end, and leaving it in place. A fresh install will create a new DCS Warthog folder) Go for the full install version rather than patching over an older build. Start with a fresh C:Users/Your Name/Saved Games/DCS Warthog folder. I can hear you all groaning, but believe me, when I say that I know it is a hassle to reconfigure your HOTAS setups, but i have found it takes me less time to do it this way. ( I have a checklist that I put together that I can refer to all the steps I need to do to get my setup back to my preference from default settings.) After you are finished setting up your fresh full install to the way you like it, and have checked it, make a backup of your C:/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS A-10C Warthog folder as well as your C:Users/Your Name/Saved Games/DCS Warthog folder. This way if you screw anything up with a mod or any other problem, you can just delete your current folder and replace it with your backup. I hope you find some of this advise useful, and it helps you avoid future headaches. Please add your tips and advise as well. Good Hunting.
  22. IIRC they were set in a "High" state in the code. It is not a parameter you can change.
  23. One of the benefits to having independent cockpit textures is so that even if your hardware or OS can not handle the "High" settings, your cockpit will still be readable and crisp.
  24. HELIOS is having some troubles that I can see, there are some Radio dials that no longer switch in the cockpit. CDU numerals and alphabetic keys worked. I will keep checking. I expect that they will have an updated version of HELIOS out soon to fix the 1109 changes.
