  1. Yep, the physic's modeling is quite impressive isn't it? I can only imagine what you said as that KC135 was getting bigger in your HUD!
  2. Hi Ranger79, The behavior that you describe is normal for the replay of a trk file, but I do not know exactly why. Sorry I cant be of more help. P.S. Here is a thread in General Questions Forum where they are discussing tracks right now: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74026
  3. You need to hit the LOAD ALL in the Data Transfer System (DTS) Upload page. This will load your weapons profiles, flight plan etc...into the aircraft's computer. After you power up your CICU Switch, your left and right MFCD's will turn white, then the DTS UPLOAD page will come up, thats when to hit LOAD ALL. When you hit LOAD ALL, small green asterisk's that are next to the individual LOAD Items on the left side of the DTS UPLOAD screen will dissapear. Wait until they reappear, this will indicate the successful transfer of data from the cartridge to the aircraft.
  4. Glad you got it working azincourt, if you have not checked it out already, there is a Radio Tutorial in my signature line.
  5. There is a seat adjustment up and down. Look at page 146 of the flight manual and the controls are just above the emergency hand brake in the picture. Look for a toggle switch with the word SEAT-UP-HOLD-DOWN
  6. BTT for new pilots!
  7. Hey gharness84, you're welcome! Welcome to the Forum, and Good Hunting!
  8. Still learning and enjoying it more every flight, that IMHO, is why I believe this Sim is such an exceptional value for the number of gameplay hours alone.
  9. Welcome to the Forums twistedneck! I agree, it sure felt good to get back into a Study Sim, and the addition of the GAU 8 is just the topping on the cake!
  10. You can do it that way, it just involves going through the INV sub page of the DSMS and loading each station with whatever store you requested. Then you have to manually create profiles for whatever new weapon you did not have stored in the Data Cartridge from the previous loadout. (Flight Manual pg. 274) You may also have to go into the STAT page and power up some 1760 stations for the new loadout. Personally, I use the LOAD DSMS method right now.
  11. I have the TM Warthog as well, and am very happy with it.
  12. Thank you very much JetBLASTER, welcome to the Forums! You will find this is a very friendly, helpful forum. If you cant find what you are looking for with a search, put up a post, and help is on the way.
  13. Cool, glad you got it sorted out.
  14. dbeaty, are you setting your point target in the TGP as your SPI with the TMS UP LONG?
  15. Then I encourage all of you to create the New Pilot area on the existing wiki, and make it great. There is no sense in making a separate and new wiki for new pilots, that will just fracture things even more.
  16. Correct. With HOOK/OWN when it reads between 180-200 from the target to your plane, you then turn in on a heading of roughly 010 to begin your run. Good job as usual Zenra for your helpful post! +1 (You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Zenra again)
  17. Just in case you guys didn't see it, there is a wiki page for DCS A-10C. Look at the top of your Forum page and it says "wiki".
  18. Welcome to the Forums Lizzie G!
  19. Switching the OWN/HOOK to HOOK/OWN really only helps you correctly comply with the JTAC's bearing request from the 9 Line, it has nothing to do with your choice of JTAC Datalink, or CDU UTM Coordinate Method, but to answer your question: I find the JTAC Datalinked Target is always the preferred method for me, but if something goes wrong with your NET Settings, then you can use the UTM Coordinate Entry method as a backup.
  20. Here is another way to make sure you are approaching your target from the JTAC's requested bearing: 1.) Set your left MFCD to TAD. 2.) Set the TAD as SOI 3.) Hook the JTAC Datalinked Target (Red Triangle) and set it as SPI (Look for mini wedding cake) 4.) Next to OSB 18 on on the left MFCD is OWN HOOK. This means the bearing and distance data that is in the bottom right of the TAD is showing the bearing and range from you (OWN=Ownship) to the target we have hooked (HOOK). We want to switch that with a OSB 18 keypress to HOOK OWN which will then show the bearing and range from the HOOK to us (OWN). Now with that set, you just look at the bearing/range data to ensure you are approaching the target from the requested bearing. Hope this helps. You can read more on this in the Flight Manual on page 303!
  21. New Pilot's!......Can not stress enough the importance of learning the concept of SPI (Sensor Point of Interest), and how to confirm your target is set as SPI.
  22. Thanks! glad to help.
  23. Hi Mooshim, First, the AWACS should be calling out only Air targets, we need a JSTAR for movers. I could have sworn in the past I heard the AWACS call out a ground target to me, but either I must be wrong or I was confusing it with another friendly asset's radio call. Other Bluefor units should call out their contacts/targets over their assigned radio freq. Well my best advice is that you need to create a mission with plenty of friendly air assets, and put them all on the same radio frequency. (Like UHF 251.00) F-15E Strike eagles would be good, also AH-64D Apaches.
  24. Thanks for being so concerned with my time, but if you are not making out a tank or shilka until you are under a mile from it, then you are either not using both the optical and digital zoom of the TGP, or you need to re-examine your understanding of the gain and level.
  25. "Radio chatter" is really in the hands of the mission designer as to what frequency he decides to put the Bluefor on. I have mostly seen it on UHF 251.00, but there are some missions where I have seen it on other frequencies.
