Also schon länger als 2 Wochen her meine ich.

Latest update now crashing as soon as take off
FR4GGL3 replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in Game Crash
@71st_Mastiff please take your Raptor Lake into account. It doesn't have to be damaged, but you should also always check your CPU if you encounter Issues. A quick and dirty Test is Cinebench r15.0.3.7. If your CPU is okay, it should be able to run this older CB r15 Version a few times in a row without crashing. 10 rounds should be okay. A really bad CPU can also crash on the first try. It is a r15 thing. Neither r20, r23 nor r24 come close to the Load variation and because of this also Voltage variation. I've had a defective 13th Gen a year ago. The stability wasn't a known thing back then. But I remember that I also had stability issues in DCS. But it was mostly while loading. No offence, DCS has its stability things, but as a RL owner we should always also check the CPU. -
Is there mounting plate / adapter for Tablemountings like Monstertech or similar? Because the original Mounting plate seems to position the whole Stick a bit too high above the desk.

Even if I get proofed wrong and Intel did a lousy job: you should never ever "trust" any Hardware Manufacturer. They all just want your money and are not your friend. AMD has some sympathy points as they are regarded as the underdog. But they won't hesitate a second to pull an Intel or Nvidia move if they are in the position to do so. We are customers. We need competition in order to keep sane prices. And we should always look after things like BIOS Settings. These days more than ever. The Processors are fast, they get hot and they are all pushed to their limits. I've lately came across some entries in the Steam forums where an AMD CPU User described a Shader Cache Build up Error in UE5 Games. These things happen. Even if they are more common on Raptor Lake CPUs it is not an exclusive thing.

The more interesting thing on Arrow Lake will be that the E Cores will be much stronger. And rumours say that Arrow Lake could have some Issues with "older" Win 11 Installations as the Scheduler, Powerplan and so on isn't that good in handling the Workload on this new CPUs. Same Rumours say, that there is a new not so official Build of Win11 that should do a better job, but we will find out on tomorrows Release Tests how well it will work. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Arrow Lake turns out to be better than expected. But probably not for people that want to put things together and just turn it on. We will see. As I said there are only rumours.

ask for advice on activating the auto throttle
FR4GGL3 replied to Michael-Fr's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
This sounds like the search for something like an "Auto Aim". I really don't know if the latest and greatest real life Aircraft can do this, but it isn't something I'd like to see in a game (sorry for all the DCS is not a game people - you shurely know what I want to say here). -
ask for advice on activating the auto throttle
FR4GGL3 replied to Michael-Fr's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I don't know open track, but it shouldn't be that you need to turn your head to the edge of one direction and your eyes at the max angle of the other direction. At least in Track IR you can finetune the needed movement. It is more a matter of using a few degrees. And this is something you can get used to. Thinking about driving at a road. There is always some independent movement of body/head and eyes necessary in order to stay safe. You do this naturally for shure. Headtracking shouldn't need more. Actually I do a lot more movement with wider angles in a car or riding the motorcycle. -
F-14A use of manual override for forward sweep observations
FR4GGL3 replied to captain_dalan's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I am with @captain_dalan on this one. I am not the one that needs a spot on simulation in the last niche that can be done, because there will always be things you can't simulate. But Heatblur should really look into his findings. And it is not rivet counting. Not as long as Strings and Tapes in the Cockpit also got working hours in the schedule. I would even say this should be higher prioritized than any optical wobbling of wings or stabilizers although the wobbling would do a lot for the immersion. But I am afraid that all the hours go into Phantom. The Tomcat feels a bit abandoned at the moment. -
First of all the TV is not exactly at 120 Hz it is 119.8 or something. And then there is the fluctuation of the rendered frames while it tries to sync via VRR. My personal experience is that its best kept at max 116 Hz in Order to not exceed the 119.8 Hz of the TV. Else there are people that can see the Tearing if the FPS are above the capability of the TV. The other effect is the problem of VRR Flicker in black Regions. It gets way less if you set a limit to ~110 Hz max. Try it.

True words. Energy safing comes also down to your usage. If you are like me and have a lot of idle times or low load times out of Gaming or other "Full Load", an Intel CPU can even be the cheaper solution. Get whatever gives you a "wanna have" feeling. Don't let Fanboys influence your decision too much. Because it doesn't matter what you buy, it will be A LOT of money. You can only justify that if you really want it. /edit: to answer the first Question, yes I run DCS with everything full open on 4K (not VR). But I limit it to 100 FPS because there is no need for me to go much higher (LG C2 maxes out on 120 Hz and is ideally driven a few FPS below that). It has also the benefit that the system doesn't need to ramp up all the fans. You can see all of my components in my Signature (almost: I've recently added a WD SN850X 2TB NVME exclusively for DCS, because it eats up Disc Space like there is no tomorrow).

All I have seen for now is that, compared to the 7800x3D it won't be that big improvement. And I didn't mention AMD in this case because the original poster asked for an Intel System (you might have noticed that I wrote "If you [...] want an Intel System"). In DCS AMD might really be the better bang for the buck for now, but there might be other reasons the OP want to go the Intel route. You can play DCS with both platforms and you won't see much difference if you don't know what is under the hood. It all comes down to your personal preference. No need to put one brand above the other.

Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh can have issues (really good chips probably never will have issues, but let us not dive too deep). These Issues lead to really fast aging. As you might know every newer silicon will age and at a unknown point (usually after years), they will need more Voltage or can only reach lower speeds at the same Voltage than before. On a number of Raptor Lakes, this can go really fast. If you do everything wrong, it may be a matter of months. If you just don't know what not to do and what to avoid, it can be a matter of a year or two. Due to the combination of a lot of cores and the higher boost clock speeds combined with higher needed Voltage to reach these, i9s are more likely to degrade than any other line, but it can happen to almost any.* Back to the Question: for DCS it shouldn't matter much if you choose an i7 or i9. But if you haven't bought anything yet and want to have an Intel System, just wait for Arrow Lake - just like @The_Nephilim said. Arrow Lake is right around the corner. Official Release should be the 24th of October 2024. *if aynone is asking what to look for: definitely keep the Voltages and Temperature down, set a Current Limit that is within spec and don't disable energy saving C-States and do not disable Core Parking in Windows - don't even set High Performance Energy State all the time. If you have an i9, I would also think about disabling the TVB Boost where the system wants to boost one or two cores to ~6 GHz. It might look a bit worse on synthetic Benchmarks, but it won't be noticable in real world performance.

Hätt man auch drauf kommen können. Danke!

Danke vorab!
