Aaalso. Ich bin von 24" FullHD vor einigen Jahren auf 32" curved umgestiegen. Die Anfangszeit mit dem curved war wirklich schwierig. Bei Spielen war die Biegung wirklich von Vorteil, in Windows und Office musste ich mich erst an die Krümmung gewöhnen. Ich habe jetzt im Januar einen LG 42C2 mit auf den Schreibtisch gestellt. Für DCS ist das wirklich gut. ABER: mir fehlt durch die Gewöhnung an curved ein bissl was. Heftig wie man das Gehirn umbiegen kann. Ich habe den gleichen Eindruck wie @Yurgon der Monitor wölbt sich gefühlt an den Seiten nach hinten. Das tut er nicht, das macht mein Gehirn. Schlimm. Allerdings weiß ich nicht ob da der "kleine" 27" schon was bringt wenn er curved ist - ich würde es fast bezeweifeln. Je größer der Monitor ist, desto mehr "hilft" curved.

For DCS alone, I would say "not really worth it". But if you play other games and want to enjoy them in 4K with Raytracing and DLSS... well, for me it was worth it.

Erm... no Sir, no need to undervolt it to "7900XTX levels" as it doesn't consume more. The 450W are max that I can see in Benchmarks or in Cyberpunkt 2077. If I play somewhat low demanding games like Battlefield 5, the card won't ask for more then ~150-170W. In DCS it is even lower as far as I remember - as long as I don't switch on SSAA. You have to think the other way round. If you need it, you can go where the 7900xtx can't go. If you don't need it, the 4090 won't ask for more what she really needs. It is really efficient. You won't expect that, but it is.

A few 4090 CAN go up to 600W if you set it up to do that (mine could). But it doesn't make sense as you won't get a lot more FPS above the standard 450W setting. The big coolers are a good thing. Because the 4090s run cool and quiet most of the time. If I stay at 1440p and don't go for SSAA, then my 4090 wouldn't go above 50°C and the fans won't spin most of the time. But yeah, the pricetag was / is insane. And you really need a decent CPU / RAM Combo to hold it under fire. But if you have the right combo, the whole system kicks some a$$

I won't bet at the PSU. I also have this hickups on my machine VS the F-16 and it is almost everytime against that plane on this map. I've not only swapped my PSU but also my GFX Card. Next thing will be Board+CPU+RAM if it still hickups, then there is nothing left to do (I can sort out the cooling for sure, as you won't get more airflow than you get on a Fractal Torrent and I have a decent custom loop just for the CPU).

What a great proof of how to handle the A. Even if it almost starves if you go vertical. And also a good proof of how many Lags and mini freezes some missions show.

Did you drop the Tanks? I can only get him these days if I drop the Tanks. Back a few patches in the past I could easily get him with the tanks on. The Flanker in this Mission can pull like crazy now. I always try to snapshot the Flanker in a one circle approach. If you have hit him only a single time, it seems he starts to chill down a bit. Then you can get on his six and shoot him. Don't get me wrong, I don't complain about that mission. It is still fun.

Well done in the A. I struggle with the Fulcrum even in a B. Very impressive in my eyes But I've got a Question: did you forget to switch the Gun to AA speed or is it something you do because of less waste on snapshot attempts?

Stimmt. Allerdings sind meine Lüfter etwas kräftiger, weil sie Staudruck auf den Radiator geben können sollen. Da darf man für die 3 Radi-Lüfter gerne mal volle 3 Watt pro Lüfter rechnen. Und dann vergiss meine Wasserpumpe nicht. Das ist eine D5. Zwar per PWM geregelt, aber wenn sie auf 100% laufen würde, würde sie lt. Angabe 23W ziehen. Und ich schaue immer, dass ich alles voll ausfahren könnte. Denn sonst vergesse ich das irgendwann und dann wirds dunkel ^^ Andere machen dann noch eine LED Lightshow ins Case als wie wenn in Las Vegas Weihnachten gefeiert werden würde. Braucht bestimmt auch ein paar Extra Watt.

Jupp, die 4090 sind effizienter als es so mancher wahr haben will. Bin trotzdem von 850W auf ein 1000W Netzteil gegangen, weil ich ein Haufen Lüftergerödel und die Wasserpumpe noch mit dran habe. Zum Thema Neukaufkonfiguration: auch mal bitte grob überschlagen was neben den eigentlichen Rechnerkomponenten noch so dranhängen soll. Wenn wie bei mir z.B. 7 Lüfter, zwei SSD, eine HDD und eine NVME drinhängen, so wird das schon langsam verbrauchsrelevant. Insbesondere weil man ja eine Steuerung so auslegt, dass die Lüfter auch weiter aufdrehen je mehr Last anliegt. Und ein wenig Reserve schadet auch nie.

Weil? Ich meine, bis zu einer gewissen Leistungsklasse (1000W?) wirst vermutlich überall Singlerail Netzteile kriegen, aber wenn es gut gemacht ist hätte Multirail in der Theorie den Vorteil, dass ein Defekt einer Komponente auf einer Rail nicht gleich den Rest mit ins Nirvana reisst. Selbst mein aktuelles ASUS ROG Thor P2 1000W ist ein Singlerail. Passt schon, so. Aber ich habe jetzt nicht extra drauf geachtet. Warum auch?

1st Thing to try: go into you Nvidia Control Center and set the Energy Management to "Max Performance". If this helps, you may suffering from a Incompatibility between your Motherboard and your 4090. Try the latest BIOS for your Motherboard. If not: I don't know. But I have seen you posted this Message on quite a few Forums (EVGA, Guru3D,...) someone will come up with an idea. /edit: another thing you could try: go into the windows power plan advanced section search for the PCIe Link Power State and set it to "off". I've seen one guy that had luck with this setting. /edit2: on another forum some users had luck by using driver version 526.86 instead of 526.89

Mine sits on the floor, too. I mean I am really a cat person (I have 3 here in the House). They do produce a lot of dust and they leave parts of their fur everywhere even if you chase them with a vacuum cleaner. But I don't like to have my expensive Hardware sitting almost 1 m above the floor - always in danger of getting dropped on the floor. I also use a Fractal Torrent Case in a Watercool / Aircool Mixup. I can tell you that the Filters work very good. Almost no need to clean the Hardware inside the box but it is necessary to clean the filters every now and then. Oh and I have a lot of stuff here standing around and collecting dust (Lego, Motu and so on) so don't be afraid of dust. You can easily wipe it off.

Ich kanns dir schlichtweg nicht sagen. Aber wenn sich was tut, dann eben immer nur im Konkurrenzkampf und vermutlich nach dem Geschenkefest. Aber ja... vielleicht bewegt sich auch garnix. Wenn ich wüsste wie es läuft würde ich es immer richtig machen. Schaff ich aber nicht.

Ja. Da wird sicher einiges verkauft. Ist ja gerade ein bissl die Zeit dafür. Ich werde meine 3080 auch noch in EBK setzen und Anfang 2023 dann sicher auch CPU und Board, einfach weil ich mit der 4090 einen schnelleren Unterbau brauche. Es sind jetzt einige umgestiegen und denen geht es eben auch so und deshalb müsste auch einiges zu finden sein. Augen offen halten und gerade wenn das bei dir in der Nähe ist hinfahren und schauen.

Was Sinn macht ist aktuell etwas warten. AMD hat seine neuen Karten noch nicht draußen und deshalb hat Nvidia selbst beim Abverkauf der "alten" 30er Reihe noch absurde Preise. Ich denke ab dem Zeitpunkt ab dem die AMD Karten verfügbar sind (Mitte Dezember) kommt langsam Bewegung in die Sache. Generell kannst du dir mal überlegen, ob nicht doch auch eine AMD Grafikkarte eine Überlegung Wert wäre. Für DCS brauchst du kein Raytracing. Und dann drehe ich beim Hersteller die Hand nicht um. Dann kann man auch bei AMD suchen ob man nicht mehr fürs Geld bekommt. Du würdest z.B. zu einem ähnlichen Preis wie eine 3060 TI eine AMD 6800 (ohne XT) bekommen. Schau dir einfach mal Benchmarks an - gerade in WQHD.

I tested my 4090 yesterday on a few Quickstart Missions. Oh boy. 2560x1440 with 2x MSAA AND 2x SSAA combined can still hold 120 fps (this is where I set my fps limit). And this is with my weak old 9900K. I guess everything is really fine as soon as I make the jump to the 13700K with DDR5 (planned early next year). And I don't have to worry to make the jump to 4K anymore. If you have the money and can find one... well, it is great. You shure don't need it, but I can tell you that it is so nice ^^ And the best thing is its power consumption. If you don't need the full power, it will shrink itself in power consumption. You wouldn't expect that from a card that is that powerfull, but it works quite good. If I play somewhat dated games like Battlefield, it only takes 150-180W - even less than my 3080 I had before.

I totaly understand your point. But if there is a bug in the driver, it can only got caught if there are more people that can confirm it. Because of this it is good to report such issues and it would be important if others give this new driver a try to see if there is a bug or not. A potential driver bug that brakes DCS is a horror story for me... I really appreciate your report of this crash!

I don't see these crashes on 522.25. But that doesn't mean that they aren't there (maybe because of different CPU, different Monitor and so on). I just wanted to say that it might be helpfull that a few more people could try to reproduce it. If you suffer, reverting back to your previous drivers should fix it. So there is no risk in my opinion.

Ich bin nun schon länger nicht mehr geflogen (bestimmt seit 2 oder 3 Open Beta Patches). Heute habe ich es wieder gewagt, weil ich testen wollte ob es da wirklich einen crash mit den neuesten nVidia Treibern gibt. Was mir dann heute aufgefallen ist, ist dass ich wenn ich die Boardkanone im PLM Modus nutzen möchte, ich quasi keinen Piper mehr kriege. Zumindest nicht während ich schnell in einem Richtungswechsel bin (Kurve fliegen oder Vertikale, völlig egal - eben nur nicht geradeaus). Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, dass der Piper SO zäh war. Er war natürlich immer etwas zäh, aber nicht so wie ich es heute erlebt habe. Ich musste quasi aufhören am Stick zu ziehen und auch noch die Geschwindigkeit verringern, damit mein Piper wieder im HUD erschien. Ist das mittlerweile eine Neuerung und soll so sein, oder stell ich mich mal wieder zu blöd an? //edit: hat sich erledigt. Nach einem Rundumschlag (Reparatur, Caches löschen, Reboot) ist das Verhalten am Folgetag wieder so gewesen wie früher. Keine Ahnung was da los war.

I even can afford a Ford. So I also could afford a 4090. But atm I just don't want to. It would make sense by going VR and 4k and a new CPU and a new Case... Maybe next year. But this thing is great. Haven't seen such speed gains by a generation step up for years.
