  1. G2 user with a 5950x and 3090. Can see the CPU timings improve from 10ms to 3.5ms or so going from ST to MT but my GPU is the bottleneck at around 20ms. Like many users on here no FPS improvement as GPU bound but still getting 45fps on the ground and 55 in the air. Worst 40fps on the ground in the Apache Mariannas Dawn Invasion quick start which seems a good stress test. Still very happy with the performance despite no gain with MT.
  2. Not seen any improvement with a G2 5950x 3090 64GB system. Cpu frame times have halved (roughly) but even on complex missions I have always only been GPU bound so MT hasn't improved my FPS. Using openxr with FPS ranging from 35-55.
  3. The Tornado is an aircraft dear to me having worked on them for 10 years so an obvious day one purchase for me. Hope other variants are offered in time as I would love to have a go with a JP233 which I think only UK and Saudi Tornados used. I imagine its one of the most frightening weapons to use in real life so should provide an exciting in game experience. Not sure when they left service it was before my time due to the land mine treaty.
  4. Sadly ED did not let people know, or at least not me (unless unlikely an email went to my spam). By a sequence of conincidences I clicked on the BS announcements discord page and found that the winners were announced on 25th June. They are: COLMAR 1-1 Black-Sheep Crazypony SW-91 Midair Ugly 2-1 WeNSon Shrimpy (yay, that's me) It seems there was a cut of date to contact the BS team to claim your winnings and I was told to contact Obi at ED. Despite being told he would verify and get back to me ASAP I am still waiting for news if even my win is verifed or not. I do not know if anyone else is still waiting for the results, or if any of the winners like me haven't collected their prize but the lack of communication from ED doesnt exactly endear me to participate in future prize offering tournaments.
  5. Often in MP I go out with x4 120c (or x2 and x2 9x) and a couple of HARMs. Kill a radar or two then switch to CAP duties. The MRM override is very useful to quickly switch between A/G and A/A. If my HARMs are spent then I change the A/G back to nav. Very simple. I no longer use the A/A manual button, although an alternative I used to do was have A/A mode enabled in RWS and use the MRM switch to easily go to A/A TWS. Set it up how you like on the ground or in the early stages of the sortie.
  6. Mulitplayer is a challenge no doubt. When there's fixed wing about you'll not last long if you remain exposed. But surely that's the way it should be? Get on to comms and ask for CAP in your area. Personally I love the position, expose, fire, reposition, repeat nature of it whilst trying to keep an eye for those pesky fixed wings. Against ground troops it's no different to SP apart from the lack of IFF issues. It isn't nice when you fire on your own troops i admit, on SP it doesn't matter that much. On MP there are situations of single Manpads deployed in trees that are impossible to see which is also frustrating. Mark it, go back and clear is my only suggestion. I have had the Hellfire not firing a few times, not sure why. I've tried to replicate it but not found a common trigger. if they could get George to act a bit more like Jester, as in call outs, identifying targets etc (in progress already), even some of the wit too to make him sound less sterile then it would be an even greater module in MP than it already is. I
  7. Play often on the Buddyspike servers and see a few others with Apaches too. No issues whatsoever.
  8. Feel your pain. It's been a long time since I've had an opponent have to evade my missiles let alone hit someone. Must be around 30 shots now with no succes. Seems most people on here are testing against AI which is fine if that's their thing but seems to be little about multiplayer. My F14 sadly is now retired. Having a lot of fun with other modules however and if I see an F14 on my EWR I know I'm in for an easy kill.
  9. Works well for me too. Important for me to get the trim nailed on first. I never had trouble before the update but this makes it a little more comfortable with just minor torque adjustments. There's a tiny little sway but nothing concerning.
  10. What was the issue? Did thr missile keep track and was simply out maneuvered or did it lose track? I've played on GS a lot (having a break from the f14) and found I lose track on nearly all Phoenixs after only a few seconds flight with the target reappearing instantly. Happens on Buddyspike servers so not just GS server problem. If they are being out maneuvered then you must change the way you engage as its very different to 1 year ago. I wouldn't advise below 30k, over 45Nm and below Mach 1 on a hot target. And only 1 missile at a time.
  11. She doesn't have the clearest voice and combined with tiny symbology (VR at least) it can be difficult to fully understand what exactly is going on. Sadly single player AI wingmen do not announce "rifle" so it's always important to have good situation awareness. If you know his and other allies location and you get a launch warning from a different direction best to take evasive action. Don't think I've ever heard anyone in MP announce it either. The manual gives HSD symbology but I dont believe ASE. I think they are just standard RWR symbols and can be found and added to the kneeboard like what I done for the f16 HARM codes. As said its difficult to read but I think most are self explanatory.
  12. We've already had ED add an unrealistic trim reset, when do we want this to end? Autotrim and FBW? If there's a workaround then great use it if it makes things easier but let's let ED work on other things and put all the trim issues to bed.
  13. In multilayer I am probably at a 1 in 20 kill to shots fired ratio. I think the 1 was under 20nm to someone not paying me attention. Nearly all the missiles lose TWS track within 20 seconds with the contact reappearing instantly. Those that do make it are incredibly easy to beat. These are in the region of 35k, 30-40Nm at M1.1-1.3, against single co-altitude opponents that usually dont evade certainly not within the first 20 seconds. I do not loft after seeing some missiles fly into space and overshoot their target.
  14. I use it now a lot for hovering. Steady to a hover, trim, engage ATT hold, wait for the initial wobble to pass and keep an eye on your altitude, gently adjusting torque to suit. Should hover with minimal movement.
  15. I haven't really touched the CPG seat myself so rely exclusively on George and so far he's OK. He's probably far better at keeping a laser on target when maneuvering than I would be! What I don't like and believe this is being looked at is the lack of IFF and the names on the list. Just tank, APC, jet etc. Can be very confusing especially in mulitplayer where I need to either get close enough to ID myself (I'm not as well versed on military units as a fully trained CPG would be) or wait until I'm shot at and retaliate. Not ideal. Would be better for me if the list was Russian T72 for example, or even just red/blue T72. Also looking forward to George searching on his own initiative. A bit more like Jester I guess who would point out a bandit or bogie close by and the direction. George could do that with ground units.
  16. Having missile track/connectivity issues again on MP. Last 12 missiles all fired at single targets both of us around 35k, 40Nm hot and between 10-20s the tws track is lost and then appears instantly back. Missile trashed. No evasive flying or anything the missile was still far from them. Its pretty useless flying the Tomcat in MP when it's like this. Ping was around 40.
  17. In fairness since I made those comments things have improved. I no longer lose track as much as before which to me was the biggest issue. Sure my missiles get defeated but I generally beat theirs also resulting in a no score draw as I retreat to gain altitude, speed and SA. It does seem that the online stability has improved. I shoot usually 35k+, M1.1+ and from around 35-40Nm. I no longer fire 4 missiles at once looking for that large kill spam message but instead try and pick on those more isolated and without any terrain cover. A lot of online players, especially Flankers, tend to fly low and can duck behind something very easily. I think the changes to the Aim 54 just mean you need to be a bit more thoughtful of who, when and where you attack. I've had a few sorties recently with 3 kills to my name and made it back for tea.
  18. That's with a G2 which is of course WMR. Not sure if others are supported at the moment but I'd keep an eye on it for further developments.
  19. I would be interested in this. I fly VR and bypass steamVr to use openxr. With motion reprojection enabled the artifacts and wobbles created by the rotor are terrible, far worse than using steamvr motion smoothing. But my fast jets its pretty good, certainly worth the small trade off in display quality to get silky smooth fps. The rotors are wonderfully modelled and it would be a shame to lose them at high rpm but it could be very beneficial to vr users.
  20. Glad this is mentioned and even more that it's planned. On MP servers I'm scared to open fire in fear of hitting my own side I wait until they either fire first of let me pass. Not the most efficient IFF technique I admit!
  21. The Army dig-in, the Airforce check-in. In the UK both Army and Airforce use the same phrase to mock each other! Looking forward to this and any other quality campaigns for the Apache.
  22. Agree with you on this, I've asked many questions about it's worth and now tried it myself and still cannot see the point. The only very small benefit I've found so far is after trimming for take off and then into the transition resetting the trim puts it a little closer to the required trim. Personally I'd prefer to fly it using the stick and pedals and just force trim, maybe even a few times. I cannot see how it helps with loss of control. If anything it could make it worse by throwing the aircraft wildy into a different situation. As others have said no one is forced to use it and if they have a benefit then great.
  23. I was in MP the other day and was hit head on by an F16 using guns. I fired a few back his way which may have warned him off as he didn't finish me off to my surprise. My Apache had a few bullet marks around the front but otherwise flew ok. However I was getting rpm low warnings, engine two out warnings when it wasn't, torque indicator rapidly fluctuating all over the place, speed and altitude indicators not working (fixed at a value) and after I landed I was unable to shut my engines off almost as if the throttle control did nothing. Sounds a bit like your situation. I put it down to the damage model knocking all those sensors out which sounds pretty plausible.
  24. Actually I've seen many posters here complaining or struggling with the Apache trim who are very keen to state they have many years experience with other DCS helicopters. I have about 25 minutes experience in the Hind and have taken to the Apache trim like a duck to water. Maybe those of us with no experience and maybe more importantly no expectations are actually finding it easier.
  25. I am just trying to understand why a reset would be useful, and because it's in previous modules really isn't a valid reason. If it detaches from the controls, as in you press it and trim returns to 0,0 whilst your aircraft situation remains as it was (spinning wildy out of control possibly) then I can see an advantage that it gives you more trim to work with. You'll still need to actually fly and correct the spin, but this gives more room to do so. Perhaps an option that the force trim also resets the trim might work for those that want it. If it is connected to the controls, as in you press it and the trim returns to 0,0 and the control surfaces return to how they were at 0,0 then its more harm than good. You'll be thrown all over the place. If you are looking for a magic button that stops you spinning, rights the aircraft and zero's the trim (and some have given the impression they want this) then I think an Airbus H145 with FBW is probably more for you. I'm not here to argue, everyone plays the game the way they want to. Personally I find the current trim solution excellent after a bit of practice.
